Hello everyone! I am 17 weeks today and a FTM. Just about a week ago or so, I went in to see a specialist because my placenta “looked weird”…the doctor told me that I have Circumvallate Placenta. Unfortunately, the doctor wasn’t the warmest with the way he was telling me. I’m going to look for another doctor in the mean time, but I was just wanting to know if anyone else has had, has, or knows someone that has had this before. It’s so rare that only 1% of women get this and I would love to hear some stories about other people’s journey with Circumvallate Placenta. The doctor scared me as much as Google could, but I was able to find a couple of people sharing their stories on YouTube that calmed me down a little. The only difference between me and them was that they found out about this at 20 weeks or farther. I’m a little worried at how early they caught this…normally that’s a good thing to catch early, but I don’t know if that means my placenta is peeling away from my uterus at a faster rate than normal.
Looking for some positivity as I try to stay positive
