Blood HCG rising but negative urine results?!?

Hi everyone

Just looking for anyone who may have had a similar experience. I was set to ovulate on 11/8. I did not test for ovulation. Had sex on the 8th and the 12th.
Thought I was sick so I went into the ER on the 22nd. The urine test was negative but I had a blood HCG of 21. They told me to come back in two days to test again.
During that time very faint lines appeared on urine test. I went in two days later and it went up to 50. They said I was pregnant and find a doctor. I went to the doctor today and did a midday no hold urine test that looked pretty diluted and it was negative.
On 11/20 I had one major cramp that almost knocked me over and then it was over. On 11/22 I had one wipe of watery pinkish blood (implantation bleeding?) and then nothing since.
So has anyone had positive rising blood tests but inconsistent, light urine tests?
I will be getting another blood test tonight but am going crazy until then 🤯

Re: Blood HCG rising but negative urine results?!?

  • @mojoelo PG tests are qualitative, not quantitative.  Therefore, if your HCG level is not concentrated enough (at the time you take the test) to reach the minimum quality level for the test, it may come back negative, or positive outside the timeframe.  With very low numbers like you are exhibiting, your doctor's office may not use a PG test that is very sensitive to those low numbers.  They should refer to your HCG levels.  As long as those continue to double every 48 hours your PG is progressing, and you should not be alarmed.
