  • How far along are you? 8w3d according to LMP

    How old are you? 35

How are you feeling?  This pregnancy is hitting me a lot harder than my son's six years ago when I was 28 for most of it.  Now, whether that has anything to do with my age, I have no idea.  I know all pregnancies are different.

Any issues/concerns?  Just curious to see how this pregnancy is handled differently than the last when I was younger.  I also now have a genetic heart condition concern this time around.  My DH was diagnosed when I was in the final stages of DS's pregnancy so I didn't have any additional testing that time around. I am sure they will address it somehow this time.

  • How far along are you? 6w4d

How old are you? 35 and high risk due to previous gestational diabetes and pelvic floor injuries from first birth.

How are you feeling? Ugh did I feel this sick the last time? I'm sure I did, but it's harder with a toddler to wrangle and no time to rest!

Any issues or concerns? Most of the foods I can keep down right now are not GD-safe foods, so that's stressing me out! With my first I could eat freely during the first 22 weeks or so before I was diagnosed.

How old are you? 39, as of yesterday!

How are you feeling? I feel OK, but this is my first pregnancy so had no really expectations. Super exhausted this week and queasy on and off throughout the day.

Any issues/concerns! Anxious about my age and risk factors for chromosomal abnormalities. Have my first OB appointment next Monday.
  • @puffling2023 happy belated birthday! 🧁

    How old are you?
35, will be 36 next week.

How are you feeling? I've been really tired this time around. I have an active two and a half year old, which can be more exhausting this time around. I have some queasiness here and there but not a ton of nausea (I didn't last time either, so that's not too concerning to me).

Any issues/concerns? I'm having anxiety about a lot of things this time around. I feel more anxious being AMA and if that will make a difference in this pregnancy. I haven't had an ultrasound yet, so I'm also scared about viability. I also had a bad first birthing experience with nerve damage and pelvic pain for almost a year postpartum the first time around, so it's taken me a lot to feel ready to do this again.
  • How far along are you?
    9 weeks

    How old are you? 38

    How are you feeling?
I’ve been better lol. Anxious, nauseous, exhausted, trouble sleeping, terrible heartburn, and so bloated my clothes hurt.

    Any issues/concerns
Doctor says everything is good. Nervous about genetic testing.
  • I was not sure if I belonged here, but I’ve been informed at the OB today that since I turn 35 in December I am considered AMA for this pregnancy

How far along are you? 9+1

How old are you? 34- birthday in Dec.

How are you feeling? God I’m tired!

Any issues/concerns? No issues. It seems like being AMA is going to be treated the same as being overweight, which I’ve been considered for every pregnancy, so not a lot of changes for me. I’m excited for the baby aspirin lol
  • @cassafrass123 welcome to the club, lol! I've read that 35 is a totally artificial cutoff, but at least it helps with insurance coverage for certain things!
  • The insurance coverage for the genetic testing is one positive of being labeled AMA!
  • Anyone else in the AMA group pregnant with their first child? One of the things that I worry about navigating is being a lot older than other fist time moms I might meet along this journey and the moms of my child’s future daycare classmates. At 39, all of my close friends my age who have children are well out of the baby stage and, when I ask about pregnancy advice, are all like “that was so long ago I barely remember!” Don’t get me wrong, I’m super excited to be a mom no matter my age and know age is just a number, but still something I’m thinking about, along with just the general concerns about being an “older” mom.
