Managed to get an ultrasound after my first prenatal appointment yesterday. Here's our little tadpole, measuring right on target at 8W6D! Heartbeat was 193.
Here’s our little nugg! Wasn’t supposed to have anything until next week but I was experiencing some spotting, so they squeezed me in with the u/s during my nurse visit. I cried in relief to see that little person wiggling around like crazy. hr 178 and strong, and measuring exactly on track!
Here’s our little bean at 6w3d! Our OB does a very early pregnancy confirmation and then we will have a second US at 11 weeks to make sure the babe is growing appropriately! So relieved to see it and hear the HB!
Because of my recent history, my doctor did an early scan at 6w6, everything looked good, but I’m having another done next week at 10w1 to follow up and make sure baby is growing and that we still have a heartbeat. Fingers crossed for good news next week!
I don't have one yet but I do have a question for you ladies... This is my third babe, with my youngest being 12 so I don't remember many specifics from being pregnant with her. But my OB waits until at least 10 weeks to do my initial appointment including u/s. I will be 11 1/2 weeks when we actually have that appointment. I don't have many major concerns because thankfully I've not had a history of m/c but I am antsy. I will be 37 when I have this baby and I'm RH negative. My last pregnancy I had complete placenta previa so that sucked.
I just... I feel like this is a long time to just be going off of an office urine pregnancy test and that's it. I want blood work to make sure my numbers are rising as they should, or something. Is this normal? Is anyone else having to wait this long, or should I press for an earlier appointment? I don't want to get too excited until I have something more concrete. Do I just keep peeing on tests?!
I’m having a similar issue. I had my hCG level tested to confirm pregnancy and it was only 27, which was low considering i was supposed to be over 5 weeks along. i’ve asked two doctors to retest it to make sure it’s rising as it should be. one told me no, the other said she would but when i got my prenatal lab results it said nothing about hCG. i have an appointment for a dating u/s in 2 weeks, and i’m terrified we won’t find a heartbeat or something will be wrong. it’s so frustrating not being listened to. this is my first pregnancy and it took almost 2 years of trying to get pregnant and i’m only 24. this doesn’t really help your problem but you’re not alone! it’s hard being left in the dark when this is supposed to be an exciting time.
you you can use the site requestatest.com and go to a quest or labcorp to get your hcg drawn for $40.
I did that and it helped a lot!
Alternatively you can pay to have an US done at a private location.
It’s insensitive for your doctors to not give you options to give you peace of mind. I’m sorry you are going through this! I’m hoping for sticky babes for all of us!
Thanks ladies!! I think we decided to go with a boutique untrasound clinic. They will do one for us at 7 weeks which is in 2 weeks. I took another test yesterday and it for sure was positive, and the line was daaaark. I might look into that hcg test if I start worrying again @babyk521
Had my 2nd US on 10/4. I had an early one at 7 weeks cuz of previous losses. Baby still has a heartbeat and is measuring ahead at almost 10 weeks (I'm 9 weeks lmp). I was so relieved to see the baby has grown and is doing well.
Here it is! I've been having a lack of symptoms lately so I was super paranoid going into our first appt but lo and behold, there's a baby in there!
Also, turns out I'm probably a weekly farther along than I thought (I overcalculated my cycle length 🤦♀️) so I'm actually 9 weeks with a due date of May 15th.
It was so surreal to see our lil’ Bebe over ultrasound today! Feeling so relieved to see a strong heartbeat and they are measuring right on track for 8 weeks, 5 days (close enough to the 9 weeks we thought we were at!) I feel like we can start looking forward to the process a bit more now. This is our first ever pregnancy, so when I definitely got a little emotional when I first saw the image on the screen. 🥹
Had my dating ultrasound today. Little Bean is measuring 9 w 1 day, 5 days off from my original thought of 9 w 6 days. 180 heart rate. They wouldn't stop wiggling around. I am so happy Bean is doing well since my hcg levels were not doubling in early months.
Little one is right on track with a 163 heart rate. It’s amazing to be able to see not only the little one but also the heart beating. Not to mention hearing the heart beat! 💓 I would have listened to it for longer.
Babyk had some good recommendations. I’m sorry you don’t feel like your care provider was listening. My recommendation is to talk to your provider about how you feel about that and the care you want to see from them. Hopefully they will take action to listen more. If they don’t I hope you’re able to shop around for a practice that will listen to you.
First ultrasound, everything looks good! HB was 175 and measuring exactly with what I had estimated so 5/16! The new MFM doctor does a neck folds US after doing the NIPT so I'll go back for that in a few weeks and get the bloodwork done next Friday!
Had our first ultrasound yesterday 🥹 11W4 heartbeat was a strong 170 bpm. Neck measurements were within normal limits and baby’s measurements are as expected!
@misscarter87 yes, my last ultrasound that I shared was abdominal. My most recent appointment was at 11wks, where I had my NIPT drawn so I’m (anxiously) awaiting the results still. Something came up with another patient being seen so I never actually got to see a midwife myself at the appointment . When they just checked my progesterone it was only 16.1 at 11wks, which I guess is still ok but seems really close to the low end, and they want me to stop taking the supplements in a couple more weeks but I’m concerned about it and hoping to discuss that decision before I run out. I just got a baby Doppler and it took me a bit to find it but I was able to find the heartbeat myself two nights ago so that made me feel a little better at least
First off I just love seeing all your little beans ❤️ I’ve had 3 ultrasounds so far this pregnancy and I’m now 10w1d. This is the latest one done last week. I didn’t get the heart rate measurement I was just happy to hear it.
@bunniecee ok great I have been looking for a baby doppler also I am so hoping all goes well at my next appt & that I will be able to get a clear view of LO on ultrasound as well as heartbeat i am just a nervous wreck with waiting another week. Doc says baby is probabaly just measuring small I am hoping by my next appt next week all goes well and a heartbeat is viable. I'll be around 8 wks & a few days by then.🙌🏽
I’ve been bracing for two weeks when baby measured 9 days behind… but the little gummy bear grew two weeks in between and has a healthy heartbeat of 169 💕 I’m not sure May 20!!
@acamomma18@bunniecee update I went to ER today had US measuring 7w3d still no heartbeat so doc said he think I may be MC but follow up with OB doc apt which is next Tuesday sad to say I may be out:( but I wish you all the best &thank you all for the prayers &thinking of me. I will still see OB doc on Tues I am Hoping it all changes & I get good news but from the looks of it I think I am MC
