Weekly Symptoms (9/5)

Re: Weekly Symptoms (9/5)

  • @buckaroo1622 Movement doesn’t really feel like UTI. It feels more like flutters/gas bubbles, and you are probably still too early to feel it. What you are probably feeling is more like round ligament stretching if it feels like UTI pressure. Definitely good to get checked for UTI regardless!
  • I said I did check for a uti. And I guess it could’ve been a combination of the 2 because like I said, I checked ultrasound. My symptoms may be different than yours

You know a baby moves before you can feel it right? Not trying to be a jerk. Just pointing out its highly unlikely you feel movement at this gestational age and a uti “feeling” or whatever shouldn’t be attributed to movement. That’s all. In case anyone here reads that and thinks it’s ok to shrug off uti symptoms. 🤷🏻‍♀️
  • Well if you had read my first post I wasn’t shrugging off a UTI. I’ve also been reading about “quickening”. My mom experienced it as well. That was what I was stating as movement. And yes I’m well aware the baby moves before I can feel it. I just don’t think your comment was necessary
  • @buckaroo1622 Fwiw I don’t think she was suggesting *you* shrugged off UTI symptoms- especially given you tested and it was negative (yay!). More just if another person was reading and experiencing similar symptoms and thought, “oh cool it’s prob not a UTI, I won’t bother double checking.”

This. I literally said it was good you got checked. Sorry if it didn’t come across. And agree to disagree about the rest.
  • A lot of people on these boards make comments that are unnecessary and rude. Funny that many of the people who jump down people's throats that these boards are not supposed to provide medical advice and to talk to your doctors are the very same ones who then provide their unsolicited "medical" opinions.
  • THIS! That was my issue and yes I felt like I was immediately being slapped on the wrist after I took the correct measures to ensure my baby was fine. I was just trying to compare myself to see if anyone had similar symptoms and suddenly I’m being told I’m wrong. I have a medical career, I’ve had a miscarriage, I am paranoid that something will go wrong. Here I am having a discussion on a discussion board and someone is telling me I’m 110% wrong and that they don’t want anyone following my bad example. Which again was stated that I immediately found out if I did have a problem. Thanks doc. I followed up with a doctor not you.
  • @buckaroo1622 Again- she is NOT saying you did something wrong. She is not saying you ignored symptoms. It was acknowledged and huzzahed you got checked by a doctor! But girl, you DID ask for input. Please don’t act like input/ thoughts we’re not requested and this was totally unsolicited. All the other gal was suggesting was for *others* to also get checked out (like you did) if they experienced similar UTI-esque symptoms. Try to give the benefit of the doubt here- tone is tough to discern online. If anything, my interpretation was that she was reinforcing that it was good you got checked, not trying to knock you down.
  • Glad you were able to interpret it that way, I still don’t see that 🤷🏼‍♀️
