My daughter just drew a picture of a sad kitty cat and a happy kitty cat. “The sad one is the mom and the happy one is the dad!” Which kind of hit the nail on the head so now I’m definitely sad 😢
Major vent coming up. Yesterday was a complete disaster.
-Hubs still isn't home and found out yesterday it may be 2 more weeks before he's home. -Kids lost their everlasting minds and decided to sneak the Nintendo switch into their room and stay up all night playing Sunday night. This spiraled into supremely sh!tty moods in the morning and not wanting to do any of their chores or homeschooling. My 10yr old was legit up till 11pm finishing his 4 worksheets he started at 1 that afternoon. So much fighting and defiance. -there is a smell in my house that I get random whiffs of and it makes me gag every time. I have torn my entire kitchen, living room and dining room apart, trying to find it, with zero luck. -I'm weaning my 1yr old and he's a teething mess so he's been a complete beast. 3yr old is deep into the effing threenager stage and ooof. -decided to pick up dinner because I felt like poop and didn't want to cook. -check engine light came on halfway there. I panic because hubs is gone for I don't even know how long and he does all our vehicle maintenance and repair. -on the way home I get pulled over for speeding. I sped up to go around a car because the lane I was in was blocked off ahead and I needed to get over. Thankfully I was just issued a warning. -get home and they completely screwed up our order. Left mine completely out.

Yesterday morning first thing I also found out that another friend due several months before me also lost her baby. So three people, all due ahead of me now. My heart is so broken. And I'm kind of having "survivors guilt" and also scared to death.
I promise I do more than vent, but holy heck these last few days have been tough.

Hark! I have found a n/a red wine that ::gasp:: doesn't suck. I like my wines dry and typically n/a wine is crazy sweet. But friends, my husband found for me the following Fake Cabernet Sauvignon for my birthday and after a frustrating day at work, I cracked it open and I gotta say: I recommend. Cheers!
@nopegoat I'm sorry youre dealing with all that all at once. Especially with the hubby being away longer than expected.
Have you tried taking your gas cap off and cleaning it? The check engine light sometimes comes on for a bad seal there. If it's not blinking, you're probably good to wait for your husband to come home and fix it.
@marebear15 he is a marine fire safety specialist. He repairs, inspects, and installs all the fire safety equipment on the rigs and ships. He used to travel a lot more before Covid. I've gotten extremely spoiled having him local for so long. I think the longest he's ever been gone was 6mos.

@nopegoat girl that’s a lot in one day. I couldn’t imagine raising 6 boys, being pregnant and doing all the homestead/ homeschool by myself. My husband is a truck driver so I get the being away. I only have a 2 year old and I get over whelmed! You’re doing an amazing job 😊
I found the little bugger on Doppler today!! Cue diminishing anxiety.
Disclaimer: I am a trained health care professional who can discern the different “noises” and am fairly thin. I don’t endorse doing this this early for most people.
So our neighbours are “cars in the yard” type people. They told my husband a few weeks ago about their master plan to buy an EXCAVATOR and keep it next to their house (aka right beside our driveway). Anyways, the dad & son just left in their truck with a flatbed trailer and a ton of straps and I am DREADING them coming home with a big piece of heavy equipment.
This isn’t legal at all so like, helloooo bylaw office! But I don’t want to have to be the one to do it. I was really hoping they’d come to their senses first.
@Wishilivedinflorida I'm extremely jealous. My midwives didn't wanna try on me yesterday. Totally understandable, though! I bet that was such a great feeling being able to listen to the little heartbeat ❤️
I just found out olive oil and avocado oil (probably others too) that you buy in the grocery is likely to be mixed with something other than what it is labeled as or reprocessed from rancid oil… So that threw me for a spin and cost me a few hours. Be careful what you buy. I can’t believe people can be so selfish.
@mommarosie1 aww. You are way too kind. I've gotten incredibly spoiled this last year of having him mostly home. I'm struggling lol.
@TortugaAzul I really don't. I have neighbors I could count on in an emergency if I absolutely had to but closest reliable help is a little over an hour away, and they were gone for the last two weeks. Next help is 8.5hrs away.
Thankfully he should **fingers crossed ** be home this weekend.
@muggsd oh no! Did they come back with an excavator?!

Last night the only thing that sounded appealing to eat was ramen. So husband and I drove the ~20min downtown to get it. I was so excited. We arrived at 6:33. The stall closed at 6:30. They had barely shut down. I cried. Pregnant stereotype.
…except, I did not look like a Pregnant Woman Crying Over Ramen. I looked like a Basic White Girl Crying Over Ramen 😂
Naturally, I went back today for a bit of a working lunch and it was fantastic. Yes, it was worth crying over 🙃
@heytallmama This was me on Friday. Hubby was like, "We shouldn't eat out, the kid is overtired, we should go home and make something..." and I was like, "There is literally no power in the universe that will stop me from getting ramen right now. I will have my own meltdown right here if you do not stick her in her carseat and drive us to ramen." I don't normally buy into the idea of pregnancy cravings, but dang, I was really serious about ramen that night! And it was totally worth it. You could even customize it just like in the little ramen shops when we lived in Japan.
@nopegoat when I was pregnant with my second, I smelled this absolutely horrific smell in my fridge that wouldn't go away and I was the only one who could smell it. I had really bad morning sickness and food aversions and I gagged every time the fridge was open for WEEKS, even if I was across the house. I deep cleaned the hell out of it many times and it got to the point that I would cry about it and DH went ahead and just bought a new fridge. When I was emptying the fridge so we could move the new one in, I finally discovered the source of the smell. DH had put some cans of fruit in the fridge to "make them last even longer". The smell of the cold metal was what was making me gag. Also, sorry to hear you had such a hard time the other day. Hope things perk up for you soon.
My random: The other day, I woke up at 6 am to get the kids ready for school and I realized immediately that every time I turned my head I had such overwhelming vertigo that I immediately threw up. It didn't matter what direction I turned my head. It lasted for hours, I couldn't move without the room spinning and getting sick. I felt a little better by nightfall and the next day I had nausea but no more vertigo. Today I was a little dizzy and a little nauseous but still not as bad as the first day. Google says it might be a middle ear issue. I'm hoping it was just a weird, one time thing. I don't ever want to feel that sick again.

@mytrueloves I had a middle ear issue last fall (vestibular neuritis) and it was horrible. If your problem persists, try looking for a PT in your area that does vestibular rehab. It SUCKS but it worked for me and I was back to pretty much normal in 6 weeks (functioning for the most part after 2 weeks). I hope it clears up for you on your own!
I think I am dealing with the flu right now and I feel like complete garbage. My fever has been hovering around 100 (my understanding is you need to call for 101+) and I just want it to end. To make it worse, we were supposed to go camping this weekend 😩
@muggsd I would call and get tested. It seems a little early for flu but you probably would qualify for tamiflu if it is. Also would check for Covid because if it’s that you may qualify for monoclonal antibodies and aspirin.
….anyone else crash super early these days, wake up to pee around 11pm and then lay awake for ::checks watch:: almost 4 hours, willing themselves back to sleep but failing? Please join me for late night insomnia, where we scroll tiktok and doom scroll.
@heytallmama super early crasher here with midnight wake ups lol. I usually put on an audio book after scrolling some apps and somehow that gets me back to sleep. I'll look for you next time I make my daily midnight stroll🤣
@Wishilivedinflorida@burr1371 I did end up calling my midwife - she didn’t really have any suggestions for me besides upping my Tylenol dosage and taking cool showers 🤷🏻♀️ I don’t know if tamiflu is a thing in Canada? Regardless, my fever is somewhat down today so hopefully by tomorrow I’m in the clear!
@heytallmama@gravcass same here. Usually I go to bed pretty late but I’ve been needing to go to bed so early lately. Then I am up for hours trying to go back to sleep. I do audiobooks too - I listen to something I’ve already listened to a bunch so I don’t feel like I need to stay up and listen. I’ve been working my way through the Harry Potter series the past few weeks.
The Six soundtrack is so good! The show is coming to my area next year and I really want to get tickets to see it.

@auriculatus I haven't. It's a big diesel so there's so many extra sensors and stuff that it could be that I'm terrified to mess with it.
