I’m super sentimental, so I’ve been keeping a pregnancy journal. It has folder slots inside, so I’ve been putting ultrasound photos in it. When baby girl arrives, I’m planning on keeping a baby book. DH is planning to get her footprints tattooed on his forearm, and I’m considering adding on to one I already have. I already know I will take a million photos of her, so those will for sure be displayed. 💗
For DD I found this calendar at hallmark that just had a bunch of stickers in the back for you to mark the days where different milestones occurred “first smile” etc. i left it on the table next to the chair I pumped in and would update it then. It’s nice to have that now and it didn’t take much commitment.
I am SO bad at this kind of stuff. I was cleaning out some closets recently and found a picture frame for baby’s first year photos that I had gotten for DD1, who is now 8 years old. It was never even opened lol. The best thing I was ever able to keep up with was a little calendar book my best friend made for me where you just write a little blurb on each day in her calendar. Stuff like “you said your first word today” or “you pooped all over daddy!” I plan to give it to the kids when they’re older.

I made this for my first daughter. I actually think I wanna get a bigger one so I can add her hospital hat to it. But I will probably do the same for our second as well. I also do a birthday video every year to share with friends and family. It’s just photos and short clips of the previous year. It always makes me bawl like a baby when I watch them but I love having them.
My mom is a quilter and sews. She has made made Christmas stockings for my first two kids and incorporated onesie fabric into them. With our first, it was our favorite onesie that didn’t survive to be handed down and was a surprise. With our second, it was from the onesie she went home from the hospital in (she was a winter baby). I’m not always good at keepsakes, so this was perfect for us since it’s something we’ll get out every year and actually use.
Re: Product Spotlight: Keepsakes and Memorabilia
I was going to just order some run of the mill archival boxes, but I liked that this one had dedicated compartments and could store upright.
