I always say "please" and "thank you" when I ask Siri to do something. It seems wrong to not say them, even though she's a robot that lives in my phone. Sometimes I swear she sounds annoyed, though.
@mamasighs S's daycare did this yesterday, and there was no way his costume was actually going to make it there (it involves a cozy coupe, a wagon, and a 5' tall stuffed giraffe). I sent the fleece mascot outfit the MIL bought him instead. Any cute character jackets or shirts you can send E in?

Holy! What is he? A giraffe veterinarian? A giraffe train conductor? Steve Irwin?
The Halloween party at preschool is usually my least favorite day of the year and yesterday proved no different. I love kids. I love Halloween. I love parties. But the combo of the 3 is always a recipe for wild crazy kids and frazzled teachers. Kids in costumes always bring out the worst in some of them. Seriously. I think I will opt out of having a party next year. I really hate the Halloween party.
I'm terrified of getting old lady whiskers. I search my face for them everyday.
Sadly, I feel like I'm getting them. I check daily and lately have been tweezing the few strays that I find. Why why why???
It already happens over here. I use my H's trimmer for my lip, but I suppose I should just get my own. I also found a thick, dark, hair about 1/4 inch long growing STRAIGHT down out of my chinny-chin-chin a few months ago. Why??? What is this punishment for? And HOW LONG was it there? Who else saw it and didn't say anything? /mortified
I can't remember the last time I actually put DD down for a nap in her crib. I just make sure we go to the store around nap time so that she will fall asleep in the car on the way back and I can just carry her in. DH has also gone on a drive for this purpose. He said it was magic.
I have 2 or 3 chin hairs. They are pure white. I try to remember to pluke them. Once someone thought there was glitter on my chin and they tried to brush it off. I said it was my chin hair. I was right...they were embarrassed.
I offer 3 hours per week of office hours. On average 2-3 students come see me per week. The remaining 2 hours I sharpen pencils. I really like having sharp pencils and am such a nerd. Now that my pencils are sharp I suppose I'll organize my post its.
I kinda feel bad for the cosmetology bumpie going through hardships. She's gotta be fairly desperate to ask strangers from the interwebz for money. Desperate times call for desperate measures, right?

Or maybe I've just become a softie.
Or maybe she's a troll and doesn't really need money. She just uses people's compassion and sympathy to sucker them into giving her money. Who knows.... It's the Internet...
I think my child's temper tantrums are hilarious. It's so hard to not laugh when he's losing his mind because I won't let him pick up the dog poop in the yard.
Yeah, but here's the thing, if say @juliedave151 (which by the way, go fuck yourself and have a great day) were to come on here and ask for help starting her cosmetology business, she probably would've been met with the same crap responses people were giving willowwhateverherSNis. If @gutsymama were to come on here asking us to help raise money for short gut, she would get a different kind of response and I'm sure a lot more of a warm response because it would be for a legit reason.
Asking for money to start a business is right about in the same category of "hey, please help pay for my trip to NYC" or something like that. It's ridiculous. At some point people need to grow up and be responsible for themselves.
I got up in the middle of the night and ate some Halloween candy. AND I didn't re-brush my teeth.

I'm with you. No need for people to be cruel, straight up or passive aggressively.
I put DS in his costume last night and he loved it. He started running around and fell over. My first response was to laugh (it's on video, so I can't deny it). I'm so terrible.
@somerandomchick I Jealous That You pooped. I have prunes coming in my groceries today....shudder (but hope they help)
I bought prune juice after having Ros, to help me with the first PP poop... 5 out of 6 of the little cans are still in my fridge. It's like the gross part of prunes distilled.
Prunes aren't that bad to eat but somehow prune juice is just vile.
ETA: I also still have the stool softener from PP (day we came home from the hospital, DH went off to the pharmacy for stool softener, percocet, and sleep masks!). It does help.
Supposedly also a tsp of olive oil on an empty stomach in the morning... helps line the intestines.
:-??
@somerandomchick - if you can stomach whole prunes, just have one a day I still make prune puree for Lilly and it's not too bad if you want to try it.
I put 1 cup of prunes in 2.5 cups of water and bring it to a boil, then boil it for 10 minutes. Then I put it all in the blender and puree. It's fine to eat straight or mix with other fruit, applesauce or oatmeal. It's definitely better than the weird packaged juice that separates, imo.
I am a member of a moms group on FB. One of them is switching daycares because she is outraged that the kids have the option of juice & chips for Halloween party snacks.
My FFFC? I don't care about party snacks. It's a party people. I can't get it up to be outraged about food. Abby gets the occasional lemonade & Kit-Kat bar for a treat.
Alex loves corn tortilla chips as a special treat.
If your kid eats healthy 90% of the time then it is crazy (to me) to flip out over party snacks.
Idk. I realllly don't want the gherkin to have candy. Like, at all. I feel like if you chose a daycare because they have snacks that you are happy with, then they give your kid chips when you don't want her to have chips, you can be upset. It's her daycare, and is necessary for the mom to be able to work. It's not like she is choosing to send her kid to a party - it's like a mandatory party. Switching daycare may be extreme, though, but I can see why a parent might be upset. I would be upset if DD were at daycare, because she had to be because I had to work, and she was given candy.
I woke up late this morning. So I had to leave within about 10 minutes. So I brushed my teeth and put my hair in a ponytail. I'm lucky I have clean clothes on.
Oh, sorry - I meant no candy as a toddler! If the gherkin hasn't outgrown her allergies, she won't be eating any cupcakes at school, though. Totally understand that she will have candy at friends' houses and so on.
My tough stance on it is that it has zero positive impact on her health. It probably also comes from my own upbringing - my parents never gave us dessert or candy. Dessert was fruit. I have never seen either parent drink a soda or eat a french fry, or have candy. We had home made, low sugar, cake for birthdays, and one pie at xmas. I feel like I've just grown up doing it that way and I feel like it was a good way to be. I don't care what anyone else does, of course!
I don't think she will remember that I'm prohibiting her from having candy. I don't mean forever, I just mean as a toddler. She is stubborn with food so when she will eat, I want what she eats to be good for her. Also, she has chewing problems and allergies. So.. I really don't want her having candy.
When she is older, I don't plan on offering her candy at home ever. She will get it other places and that's fine with me. I won't be like "NO! FORBIDDEN!" I think I can strike a balance. I hope.
2. I miiiiight have just bought Lyra a second Halloween costume, b/c I was in ON and they had a little fleece lion in her size, and the costume I got for her isn't warm enough at all.

I'd rather err on the side of compassion than skepticism. Does it ever do you a disservice to be kind? Does it ever do them a disservice to be rude?
Re: FFFC
I had my annual eye exam in April.
I just put in my 3rd pair of contacts.
This is a regular trend...
Please make sure you somehow incorporate "Um Bop" into that costume.
Doooo it!!!!
