Introduce yourself: My Name is Ashley. This is my first post here.
Due date? April 15,2023
How did you find out? Thought my period was late from stress. I was sick with Covid and wanted to take meds but thought I should take a pregnancy test first just to be safe.
Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets? Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?): This is my 4th pregnancy, our 5th child. I am 37. I have a stepson. My kids are 20-12 years old. This pregnancy was a complete shock. After being a stay at home mom for 15 years I just went back to work full time to pay for private school tuition. To say I am exhausted is an understatement. We have 2 Siberian huskies, some fish and two geckos. I met my husband in 2001, we’ve been married almost 16 years.
How are you feeling (Any symptoms, emotionally)? Tired all the time. Crampy. Hungry. Today I am irritable and I don’t know exactly why.
Introduce yourself: I’m Alli, 32, from Iowa. I’m a long time bumpie and was active in my July ‘11 and August ‘14 groups but took a break for my 2018 kiddo. I need some gals who’s current experience is relevant to what I’m going through
Due date? April 22
How did you find out? My husband read the results to me and I cried because this was very unplanned.
Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets? Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?): . I’ve been married to my husband Erik for almost 12 years and we have 3 kiddos: Stella, 11; Ian, 8; and Isaac, 4.
We’ve got a 4 year old standard poodle named phoebe and a mutt kitty named Georgia.
I’ m a labor and delivery nurse.
How are you feeling (Any symptoms, emotionally)? I feel fine now after the initial shock and WTF are we going to do wore off. I’m feeling the normal first trimester worries as I’ve experienced losses before.
ALLI & ERIK - 12.12.10 Stella - 7.7.11 | Ian - 8.6.14 | Isaac- 7.20.18 #4 due 4.22.23
Introduce Yourself: Hi! My name is Micaela. I’m 33 years old and from a suburb of St. Paul, Minnesota.
Due date? April 4th, but we’ll induce no later than March 27th (39 weeks).
How did you find out? We started trying (again) in June after a MMC in April. July was wild because we were moving (with two dogs and a toddler), so we weren’t very diligent in our “efforts” but I thought I might as well take a test once we were approaching what would have been the start of my period. I was actually shocked to see the faint line. Took maybe 20 more tests over the next couple weeks, and then 3 HCG draws, which showed appropriate increases in levels. Finally, confirmed a heartbeat via ultrasound at 8 weeks and again at 10 weeks.
Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets? Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?): I met my husband, Adam, in law school, and we’ve been married since 2015. We’re both attorneys - I practice family law. Our firstborn son was stillborn at 38 weeks in September 2019, which was devastating. We got pregnant again in March 2020 and had our second son, healthy, in December 2020. He’s now 21 months and is the sweetest thing. We also have two dogs - a Shih Tzu mix, Mork, and a Boxer, Minnie. I love running, reading, TV, and various podcasts.
How are you feeling (Any symptoms, emotionally)? Anxiety is my number 1 pregnancy symptoms, and it’s certainly already here in full force. I expect, as with my second son, that the 2nd trimester will be a little easier and then the 3rd trimester will be terrifying. Physically, I had quite a bit of nausea until this week - seems to be easing up. Constipation is here, some nasal stuffiness. This pregnancy has also turned me against several of my favorite foods lol Good times.
Hi! My name is Valarie. I’m 32 and my husband, Daniel, and I are expecting our first baby! I’ve been lurking the board for weeks, but I wanted to feel more confident in my pregnancy before joining any conversations.
How did we find out?: We started trying in July and I got my first positive test at the beginning of August. I thought it was too good to be true, so I tested every few days leading up to my first appointment with my OBGYN.
Due date: April 11th (10w4d currently)
My husband and I live in upstate SC. We’ve been married for almost 7 years! This will be the first grandchild for his family. We have the most precious dog. If she’s any indication, this baby will be SO spoiled. In my spare time I enjoy horseback riding, hiking, and yoga.
How am I feeling: I am so anxious!! I’ve had very mild symptoms, so I have felt “pregnant” yet. I hope in the coming weeks that I will be able to relax and enjoy this adventure.
Hi I’m Amy, I’m 24 married for 7 years and a nurse in Germany but I’m originally from Quebec in Canada. I’m due on April the 9th. I have no other kids, just a sphynx cat. I noticed because of fatigue and now I have HG which kind of overshadows any other symptoms I may be having.
Introduce yourself: hi, I’m Emily. I’m 32 with one son, a cat, a dog & a husband living in North Carolina 😊
Due date? April 19
How did you find out? We had been trying for a month & my period didn’t arrive when it should. I had missed my period, had taken 4 hcg strip pregnancy tests (all negative) and decided to take a digital on a Monday morning before work. I FLEW down the stairs when I saw it read “pregnant” to tell my husband who was equally as surprised 😂 nothing like having to go to work like everything is fine after that!
Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets? Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?): I have a 26 month old son, we love to spend time with our family and friends! I also enjoy reading, although it’s never really something I like during the first trimester
How are you feeling (Any symptoms, emotionally)? This pregnancy is similar to my first, but with more bouts of nausea. I’m 10weeks today.
I went to my first scan thinking I was 7 weeks but was only measuring 5weeks 6 days. We did get to see the baby and they were able to capture a fetal pole at 105bpm at that scan and didn’t seem concerned at all. This has left me with a little bit of anxiety since I won’t have another scan until my first trimester scan in 3 weeks. But everything seems ok! 😊
Yay!!! Congrats to you! I’m glad it wasn’t just me. Based off my LMP I *should* have been 7weeks but alas, I wasn’t! Counting down until the first trimester US to let me release a little anxiousness I’ve been holding onto! 😊
Hi my name is Ankita. I live in winnipeg Canada. My due date is April 29th.
I wanted to do a pregnancy test before attending a wedding. so i took the test early in the morning to find out if i should dance crazy or no.
My previous pregnancy was a miscarriage due to a clot in my placenta i lost my baby boy, I was in my 18th week.
So this pregnancy is full of worry as of now. I met my husband in 2013. We are married since 6 years we have a daughter 4 years old and a dog 12 weeks old name Stark.
I am feeling irritated easily, soooo tired. can not eat and always dizzy.
Wow so much participation! Very different than my last BMB. Looking forward to getting to know you ladies, though I'm a bit late to the game.
Introduce yourself: Hi everyone! My name is Jen from the northeast USA. I am 37, so AMA, and last pregnancy i was GD, so I'm sure there will be 18717271 million appointments in my future. Hopefully you will get a kick out of my story.
Due date? April 4 (ish)
How did you find out? Very different from most of you. I went in to the ER early Monday morning for a gallbladder attack that left me hunching over and moaning/ screaming in pain. I joked that it was worse than labor, and wouldnt it be funny if I was actually having a baby and didnt know it........
They did the usual urine test, negative for pregnancy. They ultrasound my gallbladder and find some slight irregularities. They do a CT scan to see if they can see anything else that might be causing my pain. They tell me I have an enlarged uterus. Ask if I'm pregnant. I say no, they just did a pregnancy test that was negative. They do a blood test but don't tell me the results, leaving me to believe it's also negative. Then then transport me to another hospital, all the while me thinking something is wrong with my uterus. At the new hospital, the OB comes in and says, "congrats, you are pregnant". I said, "is that the official diagnosis?" She was like ughhhh your HCG is 53000 so yes, you are VERY pregnant. Ultrasound again and SURPRISE I find out I am THIRTEEN WEEKS. I had no friggin idea. This isn't my first rodeo, I thought I knew what it was like to be pregnant, but NOPE. Wonder how long I would have went not knowing if not for that gallbladder attack!? (Gallbladder is now removed, the attack was real, and I am currently recovering, both from surgery and the shock of finding out I'm pregnant).
So I left the hospital today minus a gallbladder but plus another little placeholder lol
Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets? Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?): I was a pediatric occupational therapist for 7 years, but now am a stay at home mom to an almost 4 year old girl and 10 month old boy. My husband and I started "trying" for baby 3 last month, not knowing we were already a step ahead 😆. We have 2 dogs (used to have 3, but 5 days after our son was born we had to put down our Lizzy girl who had struggled with cancer.) I am still active in both my other BMBs though we have transitioned to facebook as it is more user friendly. I love to watch Netflix in my 1 hour of alone time I get at night lol
How are you feeling (Any symptoms, emotionally)? I haven't had any obvious symptoms, hence not knowing. But two weeks ago I swore I felt phantom kicks and was slightly dizzy. But my boobs weren't sore (the BIGGEST symptom both pregnancies) and I didn't have any bleeding [possible TW........ my first pregnancy I bled straight from weeks 8-12, and my second from weeks 8-18)] so my hubby and I both brushed it off and I didn't even bother to take a test! Emotionally I am still processing, but excited because we had started trying, this is just sooner than we were expecting! We are slightly stressed because we currently live in a tiny house that is barely big enough for the 4 of us plus 2 dogs so we have no idea where baby will go, but we will figure it out!
@scaredunprepared whoah, that’s quite the story! I definitely wish I could have “skipped” the first trimester, but maybe not quite that way! Definitely understand the shock. Welcome, I hope your recovery from surgery goes smoothly!
@scaredunprepared sounds like you missed the nausea this time around to me! I don’t think it’s common for it to start this late in the game. I’m 13 weeks and still struggling with it, but it’s been a Thing since week 7 or so and it’s definitely not as bad as it was.
@scaredunprepared Wow! Talk about a story! I feel like I’ve “lucked out” with very few symptoms as well. Not going to lie, it has left me thinking “is there anything going on in there?!” But, little babe is hanging in there and growing.
Skipping the first trimester doesn’t sound like the worst thing in the world! Can’t wait to follow your journey.
Hi! My name is Jessica and I live in the SW Washington area.
Due date? We thought it was 4/24 but at our 10 week ultrasound measurements are looking like 11 weeks so likely a 4/17 due date now.
How did you find out? We were TTC for about 9 -10 months. Did an ovulation strip on a very strong day on 8/1 and then 2 weeks later I had breast pain and fatigue. Kind of forgot about the ovulation strip so I did one to see if I was going to ovulate and it was super strong (never happens). Then had a positive pregnancy test!
Tell us about yourself. This will be my husband & I’s first child! Both of our parents first grandchild. We were going to wait a few years but history of HPV, abnormal cells, past irregular periods made all the stars align and feel like it was best to conceive and start our family before 30.
How are you feeling (Any symptoms, emotionally)? Lucky that I the nausea and vomiting is nothing like I’ve read other moms have. Headaches started to become an issue around 9 weeks but are lightening up now. Anxious for our early testing results and managing potentially high blood pressure as my midwife readings are high but testing low/normal at home. As a vegetarian/pescatarian (eat fish products a few times a week) getting 80-100 g of protein a day has been difficult.
How did you find out? Our first month trying and my boobs were killing me, took a test after I completely missed my period.
Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets? Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?): we are an Army family. I have a 13 year old daughter (I know. BIG age gap). I have a shih tzu who is my spoiled baby until this human baby is born.
How are you feeling (Any symptoms, emotionally)? Glad the first trimester is over and I feel like a human again! Tw
I actually sometimes question if I'm still pregnant because the fatigue and nausea is gone
Hi everyone, I'm Lisa from the Chicago area. This is my first time posting here, I know I'm a bit late to the fun, but TW ... there is a reason for that below...
Due date? April 20th
How did you find out? We had been trying to conceive for years. In 2021 I went through all the rounds of ovarian stimulation with no luck, and we decided not to proceed with IVF due to our age (I'm 41). In May of this year I was selling and donating all our baby gear and was feeling a bit misty over having completely given up on having a second child, and I found a few leftover pregnancy tests from last year and thought, gee, why not, so I took the test and low and behold, I got a faint positive. I thought no way, these tests are just old, so I went and bought a new test and that was positive, too! Unfortunately the pregnancy was not healthy from the get go, and I miscarried toward the end of June. We were completely devastated since this felt like our last chance at growing our family. So we went back to our lives, took a family vacation, got our daughter ready to start kindergarten, and overall just busied ourselves. A few weeks later I got a notification that someone was interested in buying one of my other baby items, and I hadn't gotten my period since the MC, so on another lark I took another test, and it was positive! So after 4+ years of not getting pregnant, I ended up pregnant twice in a row! What are the odds??? I walked down the stairs with the test in my hand and utter shock on my face and my husband saw me and just giggled, saying that he always told me that when it was meant to be it would be (which he did, repeatedly, the smug jerk, haha).
Tell us about yourself: I have a 5 year old daughter who just started kindergarten and two cats. I lead HR globally for a tech company, so if you have any employment law or benefits questions I'm your gal
How are you feeling (Any symptoms, emotionally)? I'm 14 weeks at this point and we really haven't shared with anyone yet beyond grandparents. I have had 3 ultrasounds, including the 12 week ultrasound and no physical signs of Downs (which I was very scared of given my age) and growth is right on track. But to be honest, I am waiting for the full NIPT to come back before really allowing myself the joy of believing this is real! I feel very on edge and anxious and am looking forward to that going away at some point. Other than that I'm physically really good! No nausea, no real symptoms beyond fatigue and sore boobs, and that is going away as well as I move into the 2nd trimester. Just trying to maintain positive baby growing vibes...
@beaniebaking welcome! Completely understand being reluctant to join immediately. **TW** I joined the January 23 board right away when I got a positive test, had to leave after just a couple days. Thankfully I got pregnant again just a couple cycles later, but early pregnancy is definitely a little different so shortly after a loss.
Fingers crossed for great NIPT results, and making it through the first trimester is HUGE!
@beaniebaking congratulations! It's a bit quiet for now (since most of us are in 2nd try) but we do have a very supportive and active "after loss" channel (I've experienced 2 losses myself and am 39 right now; this is a 1st child for us.) I do just hate with when Hs are so smug. Haha. I'm really ecstatic for you and your family! I also think we have a bunch of Chicagoans in this BMB! Where are ya'll at? Although not in HR, I'm a manager in a tech company out in Silicon Valley.
@babybmom0421 Welcome! 13 years is a big age gap but I hope your DD is excited about a baby sibling and will be a helpful hand!
@acleverusername I definitely recall seeing a lot of Chicagoland on this thread...not sure who is still active though. I'm going to post a GTKY thread so we can see where everyone's at!
Introduce yourself: Hi! I’m Marina, I’m 33 and I live in northern NJ.
Due date? April 28th
How did you find out? We had been trying for 3 months and I found out after I tested and it was positive. We used the Premom ovulation kit
Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets? Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?): I have two kids, 7(boy) and 4 (girl). I lost a baby around thanksgiving of last year so this one is my rainbow baby. We just got our NIPT results back and I’m having another boy! My husband does not want to know the gender so I am keeping it a secret… hoping i don’t slip!
How are you feeling (Any symptoms, emotionally)? I am feeling alright. I had the CVS test done on Tuesday because my husband and I are carriers of a very rare genetic disease. It was horribly painful. Fingers crossed for negative results and a healthy baby. Otherwise I’ve had non stop migraines! Can’t wait for that to stop. And oh man the vivid dreams are insane! Looking forward to chatting more.
@mradvins welcome! We almost named our daughter Marina, I love the name
I also used premom when trying to get pregnant with our son. Took a while, but we got there. Now we are pregnant with an unexpected #3 just months after my son! This will be our last baby, so we want to be surprised this time (well, I do...hubby wants to find out, but your comment about slipping up is exactly why i wont let him find out lol), so we will be waiting until birth to find out sex.
So sorry for your loss Glad you and your rainbow baby are here with us, though.
Hi! I’m Melissa, I’m 28 and I live in Weschester County, NY.
Due Date Originally May 1st but got moved up to April 30th after my recent ultrasound.
How did you find out? My husband and I have been trying to conceive for a while, then in mid August I realized I was a little late on my cycle (which is the norm). I took one of the many pregnancy tests I’ve had stashed in our bathroom, those two lines immediately showed up!
Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets? Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?): My husband and I both work in healthcare. I work for a major NYC hospital as an administrator and he works in the finance department. We have two pups! I can share pics of them. I love to hike, go on runs and be outdoors.
How are you feeling (Any symptoms, emotionally)? Feeling pretty awesome, I’ve had what I call “lightening boobs” and frequently urinating. But otherwise no morning sickness or anything!
Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets? Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?): This is my first pregnancy. My husband and I have a corgi and I’m an OT working in pediatrics.
How are you feeling (Any symptoms, emotionally)? Feeling better now that I’m into the second trimester (19 weeks tomorrow). A little nervous after my 18 week anatomy scan the other day (all fetal development looks great but they noticed marginal cord insertion and raised concerns re: vasa previa). Going in this week for another ultrasound to confirm. Pretty worried right now but trying to stay calm and take it a day at a time and remind myself that our little guy seems to be developing normally💙
Yes MFM appt this week, currently scheduled for Thursday but trying to see if we can get in sooner. I’d rather them be over cautious and check but hoping it’s nothing too serious. Also, always glad to find a fellow corgi owner!
@medp87 welcome! I am also an OT and used to work in pediatrics, but now I work as a stay at home mom until my kiddos go to school. One of my family dogs was a corgi/poodle mix and she was fantastic. Definitely have a soft spot for corgis! I am glad baby seems to be developing well but sorry you have some worries 😟. I really hope your MFM anatomy scan gives you more clarity and helps ease your mind.

@Knottie89593935 I am so incredibly sorry for your previous loss. How heartbreaking.
Due date?
@beaniebaking - welcome!! I'm also AMA (40) with a (TW - history of loss) and I also work in global HR (for a Fintech company)
Look forward to getting to know you both!
@babybmom0421 Welcome! 13 years is a big age gap but I hope your DD is excited about a baby sibling and will be a helpful hand!

Due Date
Originally May 1st but got moved up to April 30th after my recent ultrasound.
Spouse/partner?):
My husband and I both work in healthcare.
Due date: April 2
How did you find out: blood test after IVF (FET)
Tell us about yourself (Other children/pets? Job? Things you like to do? Spouse/partner?):
This is my first pregnancy.
