Covid positive medication ?

Hello! I am 11 weeks pregnant and just tested positive for Covid. Has anyone taken the over the counter medicine that helps you get through Covid faster?

My doctor recommended it. I asked her further questions and she said it is still experimental with pregnant women but has been used.

Would love to hear success stories! I’m very nervous about my baby.

Re: Covid positive medication ?

  • My OB advised me to take Tylenol for most of it and if I needed to I could have plain Robitussin, Zyrtec, Claritin, or Benadryl. It took me 10 days to test negative again.

I hope your case is mild and you're feeling well again soon!

    I’m also Covid+ right now…

My doctor recommended Tylenol and the monoclonal antibody treatment. They were not recommending the Pfizer pill.

She said lots of pregnant women are getting Covid and the most important thing is to keep your fever below 103 with Tylenol!

On the tail end of Covid right now - tested positive on 5/16. The worst for me was congestion, which I wasn't given any recs of 1st trimester safe congestion meds. I took tylenol for sinus pain and some benadryl the last day or two for sneezing/drainage. I didn't ever have a fever so it was just getting through the symptoms for me. Finally feeling almost back to normal today but still have a little stuffiness lingering. Hope you feel better soon!
  • I had covid 2 weeks ago.  Doctor said I wasn’t a candidate for Paxlovid but said I could take up to 3,000mg of Tylenol per day for fever, headaches, etc.  I got through it after a week or so, although still have lingering headaches.  Hope you recover quickly!!! It definitely sucked more than I thought it would after being fully vaccinated.  :(
  • Thanks all! I did not take the over the counter stuff. Had a low fever and managed with Tylenol and am feeling much better!! Just like a sinus infection type of feeling now.

I tested positive today after getting back from vacation on Tuesday. I guess it was inevitable!  I have fever and congestion. I was told Tylenol, plain Sudafed (ie not a mixed medication pill) for congestion, and plain Robitussin for cough. I'm waiting for the hospital to call back to tell me when to come in for the monoclonal antibody infusion. I'm hoping after that I feel better quickly.

And I asked the office if I could pop in after I'm healthy to listen for fetal heart tones. My next appointment isn't until June 20 and I can't wait that long to make sure baby is ok. She said I could stop in for a quick nurse visit after I'm better. 12 weeks tomorrow!
