Has anyone else done IVF?

I am 10 days past my injection, had intercourse 2 days before injection and 3 days after and now every other day since. I was told not to test for pregnancy until 2 weeks after, I have tested the past 3 days and I have the faintest line. I’m not sure if it’s still the HCG from the injection making it come out positive or not. I have been extremely nauseous, exhausted and eating everything in sight. Also intercourse has been extremely painful like it was when ovulating. If anyone has any advice, I’d love to hear it.

I have so many questions....

Why does the title of this thread not even remotely match what is actually being asked here? If you did IVF there would be literally no eggs around to fertilize.

And WHY if intercourse is painful are you partaking in it for as much as you have been?? Seriously, if you did in fact have an egg retrieval the last thing you should be doing is f*cking. They poked holes through your vaginal wall to get to your ovaries!!!

I think she meant IUI? It makes more sense if she meant IUI.

I had the Ovidrel injection which is an IVF injection to help me ovulate because I do not ovulate on my own. I’m sorry if it doesn’t make sense to you guys but this is all the information I was given by my OB. All I’m asking is for advice or if anyone else has had this happen to them after having this injection.

And I don’t understand why you guys are being so rude I’m just asking questions as I have never been pregnant before in my life and you’d think you guys would be a lot nicer considering this is a pregnancy forum!!!

IVF is in vitro fertilization, which means they take eggs out fertilize them and put them back in.

IUI is intrauterine insemination so sperm is put in your uterus with a catheter. 

Timed Intercourse is using a medication to trigger ovulation and being told to HIO. 

This is the vaguest definition I can possibly come up with, if you think you are pregnant, call your OB.

Try being here for 4+ years and having HUNDREDS of women just like you dropping in here once to ask your very specific, and not even scientifically correct, question, never to be seen or heard from again. This is a TTC forum not a pregnancy forum, some of us have never been pregnant before. But first and foremost, this is also a COMMUNITY. A place where we ask that newcomers introduce themselves, be a mutually inclusive participant for a while, and then maybe we'd actually give a damn about the outcome of their journey. All I know about you is that you don't know what IVF is and that you have a positive pregnancy test, which means it's likely you're already pregnant, which means your participation in TTGP both starts and ends with this drive-by intrusion while we're left to carry on with our actual lives that is more than just being someone's personal google.

There have been lots of people here who have used an HCG trigger, and my advice to you would be the same as them - only your OB or GP can tell you whether you're actually pregnant or not. HCG does take some time to test out of your system, so unless you were testing everyday from your trigger shot to watch the line get lighter, then they started getting darker again, there is literally no way to know whether those lines are legit other than a blood beta test which is done by your doctor. Wait a few days then keep testing and see if the lines get darker or wait to see if you get your period. And please do not come back here to update us, there is nothing more insulting to those of us who have been struggling to have someone we don't even know come and wave their positive pregnancy test in our faces.
