23w1d and as of the last couple of days, like this weekend, I've felt kicks against my stomach (not just the bladder bounce/dance of the last weeks). Yesterday I accidentally had a bunch of carbs (chips, cookies, AND lunch) and June had an absolute ball for about 2.5 hours. I could not focus on work to save my life
This baby loves to kick me right in the crotch. I’m wondering if it’ll end up staying breech like my second did.

@shortstack930 I was wondering if it was too low to feel kicks/movement right at the very bottom of my abs, so I'm glad to hear I'm not alone. It's not my usual spot anymore (that's definitely higher), but I have been wondering "baby or gas?" when I feel it there.
@jilliboo Congratulations! I really should try to chill out when my husband is around so maybe he'll get to feel his kiddo. I feel inspired!!!
@pangolindrome I literally woke him from a dead sleep and put his hand on my stomach and prayed baby would kick again. Lol. Thankfully baby heard that one. He promptly fell back asleep. Hahahahaha
@jilliboo yay! That's so exciting. My husband just felt the baby kick a couple days ago too, and I'm just now at 22 weeks. SO special. I found out I have a posterior placenta this time so that probably made baby easier to feel. I had an anterior placenta with my first and I think I was quite a bit further along when he finally felt her.
20 weeks and started feeling the flutter feeling around 17 weeks or so and am starting to feel more off and on, with some slight kicks at this point! Still nothing strong enough my bf or anyone else can feel, but definitely noticing the movement so much more now than previous weeks!
I'm at 21 weeks, 2 days. Just had the anatomy scan yesterday and baby was moving like crazy. Something clicked for me seeing baby move on screen and the feelings / little cramps I couldn't identify before. Now I'm realizing all those times I felt "weird" was baby wiggling like a madman. Today I've felt baby moving all day, it's so clear now. But if you'd asked me on Thursday, I thought I hadn't felt baby move in a week. It's funny how much the scan changed my ability to perceive baby's movements. I have an anterior placenta, so spouse hasn't been able to feel baby move yet. I'm very relieved at how much movement there is, and at finally being able to recognize it.
22 weeks, and I’ve been feeling movement since about 20 weeks. On Friday, my spouse was able to feel a kick, and then we both SAW a kick move my belly. SUPER WEIRD but also very cool.
@ferret22 Having the anatomy scan was a huge trigger of recognition for me too! Before it, I was like "Uh, maybe I've felt something? I'm not sure?" but after seeing her move around so much, it really helped me recognize what I was feeling! I hit 24 weeks tomorrow and at this point, it's absolutely doubtless when it's her moving around. Enjoy the knowledge
That being said, this child does NOT move when I want Hubbs to feel it.
22+6 - the flutters are feeling more solid! I am starting to be able to tell the difference between a jab and a roll, lol. It's still like 75% on the lower abdomen when I feel her, otherwise it's on my left side. Still can't feel her on the outside, but she moves so much and I love it.
For the first time, she got me SO HARD on my bladder that I thought I was going to pee my pants lol
@stephers I call that "danger zone" for my husband. If it gets really urgent I yell "PANPAN" (like SOS but you're in danger that isn't immediately mortal - he taught it to me because he's a pilot) while running for the restroom. He gets a kick out of how clear and easy the communication is AND how I use the vocab.
For example: Us: *watching TV* Me: *cringes and squirms for no outwardly apparent reason* DANGER ZONE! *gets up and speed-walks to toilet*
I think the whole “STMs feel movement earlier” is kind of B.S. I had an anterior placenta last time and posterior this time, combined with being a STM, and I still only felt definite kicks a week earlier than last time. I think I did feel flutters/shifting earlier but as far as actual kicks, there obviously wasn’t much of a difference. But now that I’ve started feeling them they are nonstop! And DD felt him kick last night 😭. The look on her face was priceless.
@bows22 yeah, I think I agree. STMs might be able to identify the movement slightly earlier, but babies grow at the same rate and they’re not really big enough until a certain point to make detectable movements. The posterior placenta does seem to make it easier for others to feel, though!
I think it just depends, honestly. This baby is smaller than my last three but he is still measuring two weeks ahead of his gestational age. I'm 21 weeks with an anterior placenta. My husband had his hand on my belly last night and the baby kicked him 10-12 times. He felt every kick. The baby loves cat purring so when she lays around my belly he starts kicking her. She seems to like it. My husband and kids have been able to feel the baby kick for a couple of weeks now. I've had friends not be able to feel anything until well after 22 weeks and their SO until 25+. That being said this baby did start kicking later than my last couple of kids.
I'm almost 22w with an anterior placenta and FTM...I've only started to get strong kicks in the past 4-5 days. My husband could feel light movement the last week or so, but the last few days they are unmistakeable kicks. However, only on the sides of my stomach.
I also just wanted to say how much better I feel now that I can feel movement. My anxiety is soooo thankful!
I'm a STM and still haven't felt a proper kick. I'm pretty sure I've been feeling flutters, but that's it. I'm 19+3 today and didn't feel anything with my son until maybe 21/22 weeks... so figure it'll be similar this time!
Now entering week 24 (FTM, anterior placenta) and I've felt her kick every day since last week, anywhere from 3-5 times per day. However, when I tried to have my husband feel, she went completely still. Lil stinker!
Does anyone work in a corporate setting and have their baby kick the living crap out of them ALL DAY and especially while in serious meetings? It is such a weird and uncomfortable feeling since I’m the only one who can feel it and can’t react one bit.
I’m 24+2, baby has been consistently kicking since 17 weeks and getting much MUCH stronger. It’s sweet most times but at work is the only time where I wish I could control it!
@mcclanna Not corporate meetings, but baby sometimes gets quite active when I'm working with a bride. I try to be mindful to not flinch if it's while my opinion is being solicited 😂
@mcclanna YES lol. I was in a stuffy board meeting recently with executives and couldn't even acknowledge her kicks with a smile. Actually, like even regular meetings it's so bizarre to have the baby kick and pretend nothing is happening.
DH is still saying he can't feel baby, but I can feel her movement against my hand now. I feel like he's forgotten what he's feeling for? His attitude around it has been kind of defeatist too and it's frustrating. He doesn't try for very long, I often have to make him try, and I feel like there was so much more determination and excitement from him about this in my first pregnancy. I'm sure it comes from him being sad about not feeling her yet, but it's starting to get to me.
@krthouse My husband isn't as into the baby kicking as he was with the first couple of kids. He's definitely not as patient when waiting for them. Fortunately my son is really enthusiastic about feeling his brother kick him so I get that first time excitement from someone. He tells his sisters how many times the baby kicked him because he just can't contain his joy. I love it.
My baby movements have slowed dramatically over the last couple of days. I told the doctor about it during my last appointment on Tuesday and no one seemed concerned. I'll go hours and hours without feeling anything. The heartbeat is good so that's all anyone seems to care about.
@krthouse Obviously I'm an FTM, so no prior experience, but my husband didn't seem to understand how to feel or what to expect. She was kicking and he'd put his hand against my belly, I showed him how, but he didn't immediately feel anything and shook his head at me. I told him to get comfortable because it might be some minutes before she goes again. He wasn't sure what he felt, but she kicked/punched his hand three times and he tapped my palm and asked if that's what it feels like. I told him that was absolutely it and that's what it used to feel like for me, so he will feel more clearly as she grows and gets stronger.
I don't think he quite knows what to do with it. This is all so new.
Yesterday, I had my last two ZipFizz tubes (I had two last week, they're leftovers from a while back) and I was really active, and June didn't really move until I went to bed. Then, she reassured me. As sick as I get of the movement, it was healthy to get a reminder that it could be absent. She's been GOING today and I am choosing to be thankful even though we are in in-service "training."
So my husband, oldest daughter, and son have felt the baby kick regularly. My second daughter hasn't. He can be kicking up a storm and the second she lays her hand on my belly he will stop and won't start again until AFTER she lifts her hand. She's been really sad about it because she thought the baby was mad that she wanted a sister at first but now she's happy to have another brother. I told her she must be the brother whisperer because much like her other brother this one calms down when she's around as well. I feel so bad for her because she tries so hard and he just won't kick for her. He even kicks the cat!
I feel the baby moving constantly at 21weeks. I can tell when she's asleep or when she's awake. She doesn't like my belly band and so she'll punch at it.
She did it! Finally kicked hard enough for DH to feel her on Father's Day. He first felt DS kick on New Years Eve back in the day so I guess our babies just like to wait for a special occasion 😂
I can definitely feel regularly kicks now at 24 weeks. I've been able to feel it on my hand occasionally, but not regularly enough for my husband to feel it.
Is anybody feeling super strong kicks already? I’m 24+4 and last night she was kicking so hard she knocked my blood pressure monitor off of my belly. I was talking to a friend and she said that seemed like a lot when I’m only 24weeks.
24+2 and last night I watched a really action -packed episode of Stranger Things. During the loud scenes he was kicking away! DH still couldn't feel it, though
24 weeks today and kicks strong enough to see/feel for the past week with an anterior placenta. Getting stronger lately and they surprise me when I'm working!
Hi all! I have a weird/random question. I’m 24 weeks with an anterior placenta (didn’t have his with my first little one). DD has been kicking pretty continuously (and hard!) since about 20 weeks. DS brought COVID home from school and of course I caught it as well. *TW* I’m such a hypochondriac and I found out that COVID can damage the placenta and some other pretty scary things. I of course started monitoring kicks even more, I had actually started doing kick counts since 20 weeks since DD was being consistent enough for me to do them. Anyways, for about a week, her kicks went way down in the amount and strength. I was trying not to panic, but I was 100% panicking. Baby girl started kicking strongly a lot again today (24W 3D). Is this normal?
I swear, my DS was super quiet when I was pregnant with him. My boyfriend and I have a running joke that Sammy only loved him because at one point I went home to my parents for 3 days and I didn’t feel him move at all and I was in my third trimester. When I came home, my bf was there and as soon as he said hi, DS started kicking me like crazy 😂
Any advice would be super appreciated! My mom tells me I need to calm down and just let things be, but I’m crazy lol
@kat_vegan87 I’d say listen to your momma, but if you are truly worried, contact your dr. I’m 24 weeks and my ninja is super quiet during the day since I walk a lot. At night, he goes nuts. It varies from day to day and my dr has told me not to worry about kick counts until after 28 weeks. I can understand your worry with Covid, but maybe try to not fall into the google whirlpool….I know it’s easier said than done, but I have to remind myself I can always find something scary, but my dr will help reassure me.
