I had my first ultrasound yesterday at about 8 1/2 weeks. Baby is measuring a little big they said. My husband just broke his ankle and can't put any weight on his foot or use crutches. He had to scoot along behind me on a knee scooter but he said nothing would stop him from getting a first look at our first child. We held hands and watched the tiny heart beat.
Went to my OB for UTI issues and got a bonus peek at baby. I took a video so my kids could see the heartbeat. Turned it into a gif to make it shareable. 8w5d ❤️
Hi all, this is my first time posting as well! Here are our surprise identical twins! These will be our 3rd and 4th children, our heads are definitely spinning. I think my doc said due date is Dec 2, but I won’t go that far.
We had an ultrasound at 8 weeks and 3 days, baby looking good and having a good heartbeat at 160. Next appointment until week 13, we’re a bit nervous but hopefully everything will continue to do well.
Ultrasound today at 6w6d, measuring in a bit ahead at 7w1d! For some reason the OB would only confirm we were seeing the steady flicker of “cardiac activity,” but wouldn’t call it a heartbeat—though added it was exactly what she would “expect” at this gestational age. Not sure what the distinction is, but whatever, just glad to hear that so far things look to be on track. Only bummer was no estimated BPM, and no option to hear anything. It looked like she was using a traditional US machine and the print out says “routine,” not “early OB,” so maybe that’s why? EDD still 12/21
@bustabucket I didn't get an estimated heartbeat either or hear anything.
I remember when I had my first two kids the tech told me the early us heartbeat sounds are a computer interpretation of what the us sees because the heart is too small to actually hear until at least 16 weeks. My OB this time told me I'd get a heartbeat estimate at my 16 week scan so I think the machine she has doesn't do what the machine my previous OB had does and that's the difference.
First us yesterday. There is definitely someone in there! Got to see the little heartbeat too. The tech didn't say much other than everything looks normal. I'm guessing my midwife will contact me with more details.
I had my ultrasound/first appt on Monday! Measuring 8 wks 2 days (just a day off from what I thought) and heartbeat was 150. It’s so great to see confirmation and that everything is going well so far.
We had the most miserable woman do our ultrasound, it definitely ruined the experience for us for our first child. There were several good angles she got for looking at the heartbeat and showing us how the fetus already looks like a little human and then she took these for the pictures and I'd be lying if I said I wasn't dissapointed. When we went, heartbeat was 157 and I was 8w6d but they pushed me back to 8w. Today I am 8w6d again lol. My due date is Dec 8, but she said they'd finalize it at the 12 week appt on May 26th.
Had first ultrasound on 5/3 - baby looks good measuring 6w6d… however they also found a giant ovarian cyst… 10 cm. I’m not in pain so they’re just going to keep an eye on it… potentially do surgery after week 10 to suck the fluid out… anyone else ever had something similar?
We We had our US today and found out we have two little ones in there! Both with strong heartbeats but one is measuring 5days behind. I am excited and just keep hoping for the best for the next 6weeks.😊 Congratulations to all the moms on this chat.
@candycorn86 I had a 4 cm ovarian cyst on my left ovary at my ultrasound at 7 weeks and 1 day. My doctor said something similar, they are just going to monitor it and if needed would do surgery in the second trimester to remove it. She said it’s possible it could have been the follicle I ovulated from if I ovulated on the left side (which I believe I did because I felt ovulation pain) that continued to grow instead of dissolving. She did say if I had sudden severe pain on that side to contact them immediately but otherwise she didn’t seem too worried and said it wouldn’t affect the pregnancy in any way!
@candycorn86 They noticed something similar, a “simple cyst,” on my right ovary. Looked big to me, but OB said nothing to worry about if it’s not causing pain. They’ll continue to monitor, but don’t anticipate it will affect the pregnancy.
I've been out of the loop and there's new twin mom's in here now!!! So excited!! We got to see our babes today at 9w5d. Both measuring on track!

I had my first ultrasound today at 8w3d. Baby is measuring right on schedule with a due date of 12/16. It still feels surreal! I’m just so relieved to have finally seen my peanut and hear a heartbeat.
Had my 8w(and 5 days) US today and it was so cute to see the fetus's little limbs waving around! (Won't post the US bc it's super unclear anyway and I posted one earlier at 6 weeks when I confirmed the pregnancy). I think somehow seeing it move made it feel more real to me.
Don't be nervous! There's a lot of reasons it may be measuring smaller. You may have ovulated a day or two late... Baby might have a growth spurt tomorrow! Also, those measurements are notoriously inaccurate. It's just to get a vague idea that everything is in order. And they'd tell you if it wasn't!
My stomach is already starting to show I’m 9w 6days I think it’s bloating my family thinks it’s twins but I have absolutely no morning sickness so nausea but nothing major is this possible?
Did you feel any different or extra sick before finding out it was twins?
I actually don't have many symptoms. No nausea or breast pain or fatigue. Right now just metal taste. Having no symptoms made me question my pregnancy completely. I was shocked when told there is two in there.
I love all of these pictures so much! I had my second ultrasound today and measuring 9 weeks. It was soooo cute to see the baby moving its little arms and legs! Makes all the vomiting worth it 🤗
Not a great picture, but had my first US yesterday! 7w1d based on ovulation, but 7w3d based on measurements. Always a relief to see the little heartbeat!
