Current pregnancy - First BFP on 1/4/22. Due date 9/13/22.
Four prior losses, no living children - 1 first trimester miscarriage, 1 blighted ovum, 1 chemical, and one extreme premature live birth daughter who died at 15 days old.
I can pronounce basically any western language regardless of if I understand it AND I can hear my name even in absolute bedlam. Teacher superpower on the second one.
I don’t know if it counts as a talent but I am naturally trustworthy. It’s also a bit of a curse.
I speak fluent bureaucratic bullshit. One of the tasks that is now mine is to review all the "official" policies and procedures for anything vaguely MH related to make sure they are worded correctly in "pretty" language.

My talent is making plans for myself to be productive and social over the weekend and then not actually doing anything when the time comes. Since I've been pregnant, this talent has turned into a super power.
I feel like I don't have a talent, but I love to learn new things and my mom calls me her jack of all trades because I like to learn and try them out.
I can sew, though don't have time to do it. I can grow things. I can can (preserve foods) I've made mozzarella before but would love to learn how to make hard cheeses. I'm pretty good at useless trivia
Before being pregnant, one of my most notable talents was my ability to focus/retain information no matter what environment I was in- this came in VERY handy in college and grad school! Nowadays I can’t retain much of anything.
I don’t know if it’s necessarily a talent, but I really enjoy making things/crafting! I can knit/crochet pretty well, and make “commissioned” pieces for my family and friends. One of my faves was making a sweater for my dog haha!
I also like to work with cement (I’ve given it up during pregnancy because of the particulates). I make all sorts of things and like to experiment with color, etc but these coasters are some of my favorites things to make
I don’t know that I’d consider any of this talent but here we go:
I run (not currently bc baby and it’s always a million degrees out) and have run at least a dozen half marathons and a handful of full marathons. I had been planning another marathon but obviously that’s on hold for now. I actually really look forward to getting back to this.
I crochet fairly well, mostly usually for gifts for others but it’s been mentioned that people think I should sell things. I haven’t pursued it though mostly bc I worry it would take the fun out of it.
@blanket_girl those coasters are gorgeous! I love crafting things, but I don't know that I could call it a real talent - I'm not that good!
I am not a trained programmer, but I am very good at making technology cooperate. I love working with databases and datasets, and I did a lot of data visualization and discussion for a previous job. I have a 3D printer and have had a lot of fun making designs for it, and when we decided to get chickens I used Fusion 360 to design the coop and enclosure and made all of our cut lists and step-by-step construction plans.
Because I'm good with technology but not trained in it, I'm also a good technical translator. You can put me between a research team and a journalist, or between an engineer and an end user, and I can do a lot to help them to understand one another. It's a very handy skill, and one that has opened up some fun opportunities for me in a few different contexts.
First time mom-to-be, due 9/25/22
Some complicated chromosomal stuff going on - our fingers are crossed, but this may not go according to plan!
I've started sewing and I think I can claim it as a talent. I love being able to sew cute clothes for my daughter. I just made matching pajamas for my daughter and new baby but the picture won't upload🙄 I've been thinking about trying to sell some of the baby clothes I've sewn so I can have money to buy more material. We'll see how that goes. Oh and I can pick up dilects/accents fairly quick. My Norwegian vocabulary isn't so big yet but I've tricked a lot of people over the 2 years I've lived here and they're completely surprised when they find out I'm not Norwegian.
