(Maybe in April we start splitting up the check ins? Let's discuss in the board organization thread.)
Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: Nov 16. 6+5.
FTM/STM/TTM+: TTM
Upcoming Appointments or Results: April 7 is first visit and scan.
How are you feeling?: pretty rough 😅 I started Unisom and B6 and it hasn’t touched my nausea. It’s so bad this time. Also getting more anxious for the scan, my son was a twin and they run on my side. I’m terrified of having twins. I know symptoms don’t mean anything but I’m so paranoid lol
Rants/Raves: it’s almost April and so cold outside?? Why.
Questions: if Unisom and B6 wasn’t helpful, did zofran help? I wanted to try to avoid it but I’m going to need something when I’m working. I do 2 12’s per week, it’s been miserable.
@database6 I think a lot of people who get labs like hcg done early are either going through fertility treatments or have previous health concerns/history that warrant it per their doctors. In a "run-of-the-mill" pregnancy, so to speak, most OBs don't see you until at least 8 weeks. In my case, we did an IUI and my fertility clinic automatically draws betas 3 times and does an early ultrasound for all pregnancies resulting from treatments, which is why I've had lab work already despite only being 6w4d.
@Gingermom15 I feel you on the cold weather! We had snow last night and this morning. I wasn't impressed.
Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: 11/17, 6w4d
FTM/STM/TTM+: FTM
Upcoming Appointments or Results: ultrasound Wednesday
How are you feeling?: not too bad today (yet). Had a migraine yesterday and felt bleh all weekend so did a lot of sleeping, but can't keep doing that during the week lol.
Rants/Raves: Ultrasound is close but ugh, have to get through 2.5 days first! I really hope this ultrasound helps quell my anxiety. I don't want to have to add a med during pregnancy, but I'm pretty sure medicating the anxiety if it doesn't stop will be better for me AND the baby than me constantly being on edge and half panicking.
Questions: those of you who have had early ultrasounds - how long are the appointments typically? We couldn't get an appointment with the doctor himself, so they had to schedule it with the clinic's sonographer. Are we likely to get information at the appointment itself or do sonographers just take the images and the doctor calls later? I know ultrasound techs usually can't give info, but I don't know if a sonographer is just another name for ultrasound tech, or if they're a different role that can give at least basic info.
Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: Nov. 12, 7w1d according to The Bump, but 7w3d according to my RE
FTM/STM/TTM+: STM plus one dog (see profile pic)
Upcoming Appointments or Results: I had my first ultrasound on Friday, which went really well. Being discharged from my RE so I need to complete that paperwork and call my OB/midwife practice.
How are you feeling?: Still tired. I get some dizzy spells where I feel like the world is tilting. Mostly lower grade nausea, but I had a super vomit moment Saturday night.
Rants/Raves: I'm ranting because it is cold again! I know spring in New England, I literally grew up here, and I still hate when we get a polar vortex and I have to turn the heat back on.
Questions: I can't think of any right now
@fantasyflyte For my first U/S last Friday, it was super quick. The tech told me the heart rate, said all looks good, gave me the dating info, and printed a few pics for their records and for me to take home. Then I got a follow-up from one of the doctors from the practice.
@Gingermom15 Unisom+B6 worked well for my daughter last pregnancy for sickness, and zofran didn’t touch it. I still have zofran leftover and tried it this weekend with this bebe and it’s worked wonders! Definitely ask your doctor for some or if they have other reccs
@fantasyflyte I’ve found that it’s a total mixed bag. Usually if they don’t see anything concerning, they’ve shown me the baby and images and given information immediately. At other times, they haven’t said anything and then I found out everything was okay! And finally at other times they won’t say anything and I do hear there’s an issue later. I’m sorry for the frustration. Hopefully it will be about 30 minutes and they’ll give you a report or let you see and can put your mind at ease!
Upcoming Appointments or Results: April 4th is my first ultrasound next week and I'm hoping it’s all good news!
How are you feeling?: When I feel sick, I just wanna feel better. When I feel better, I get nervous there’s a problem. I just want bebe here in my arms ❤️
Rants/Raves: I’m sick of the cold. I’m frustrated being a prior-loss mom and not being able to just relax and enjoy pregnancy. I told my parents last night and am now terrified of having to tell them we’re having a MC (they don’t know about my prior 4…)
@database6 I've had blood and ultrasounds already because of my loss history, and particularly because 2 of my losses were missed miscarriages. We don't get seen until closer to 12 weeks here and that's a long time to not know if you've lost a pregnancy
@Gingermom15 I've heard that it can take a little while for the b6 unisom to start working. Or at least that's the case with the diclectin we have up here that is basically the same thing. You also have to take it pretty consistently to be able to get the full effect. If that's the case and it's still not working I'd probably be asking for something stronger.
@fantasyflyte I've had early ultrasounds done by techs and they're generally pretty quick. There's not much to measure at that stage (just CRL - crown to rump length) and heartbeat generally. If they don't tell you anything you should be able to watch the screen to get a feel for what's going on
Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: 7w4d
FTM/STM/TTM+: TTM
Upcoming Appointments or Results: Ultrasound on Wednesday
How are you feeling?: Alright. My nose is definitely making this difficult. Trying not to think too much about it because that's when I start getting nervous
Rants/Raves: I'm annoyed that my daughter wants to nurse SO MUCH. My boobs freaking hurt, kid. I may have to cold turkey her =/ It doesn't seem like she'll get the hint any other way.

Momma to 3 angels and two amazing children
F born June 2018 W born September 2020 #3 due November 2022
@Gingermom15 i was nauseous almost my entire first pregnancy and took Zofran just about every single day. It was the only thing that worked for me! I’d highly recommend it if your nausea is that bad. I’ll most likely take it again this pregnancy if I’m as nauseous as I was the first time.
How are you feeling?: like i got hit by a truck. I’m nauseous pretty much 24/7 with lots of dry heaving and occasional vomit. All I want to do is sleep except at night when I can’t. Going to grab unisom at the store and give it plus b6 a try.
@Gingermom15 I started off my first pregnancy with 4mg zofran and ended up having to increase to 8mg. This time I tried unisom/B6 and it wasn't cutting it so my OB decided to just have me start taking zofran 8mg again. Its helping. The key is once you feel able to eat, keep eating small meals and snacks consistently.
How are you feeling?: Nausea is finally improving with medication which is helping me sleep better. I've been MOODY though! My poor husband. The fatigue by mid-afternoon is definitely still here too.
Rants/Raves: The weather has been so unpredictable lately. Unseasonably warm, then raining, and then back to cold and snowing! My seasonal allergies are in full force because of it too. Ugh!
Upcoming Appointments or Results: First appointment is next week on April 7th and I’m so ready for it!
How are you feeling?: feeling super nauseous, threw up for the first time this morning. This nausea is no joke! I also feel constipated and bloated so I’m sure that’s not helping.
Rants/Raves: I’m going to talk to my doctor about zofran because feeling this on and off nausea is starting to get to me. All I want to do is sleep and not feel like crap throughout the day. I work from home most of the week but I’m suppose to go in 1 day every week so we will see how tomorrow goes if I go in!
Questions: what are your go for snacks to have throughout the day? I’m struggling to find small things to eat as I’m used to 3 meals a day vs snacking.
Currently 7w2d my next appointment is tomorrow afternoon (Wednesday).
I am feeling okay. My boobs feel like watermelons. I get very sleepy every time I put food in my mouth. I am still spotting and have lots of questions for the dr tomorrow. Just hoping for a good visit and ultrasound with a strong heartbeat.
Rants/raves my drs office has been very good with me. I am constantly calling and the nurses are super sweet about it.
Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: 11/19 (6 weeks 3 days)
FTM/STM/TTM+: FTM
Upcoming Appointments or Results: First appointment is April 8th
How are you feeling?: Fatigue and acne started at exactly 6 weeks. Literally napped on the couch all weekend. And have pimples suddenly everywhere: chin, forehead, neck, ears. The random nausea continues but a snack makes it go away immediately. I’ve also been getting super car sick, not puking but very close. I’ve never had motion sickness before. My lower back is also hurting in the middle of the night. I’ve had similar back pain before (not pregnancy related) so not sure if this is that coming back or a pregnancy symptom. Seems too early for back pain.
Rants/Raves: One of my best friends just told me she is pregnant and I’m so excited to tell her I am pregnant too and that we get to experience this together! I keep asking my husband if we can just tell people already but he is very set on waiting until confirming the heartbeat, which I understand.
@knottie9ede9e6baf1e395a my snacks have been yogurt with berries, applesauce, granola bars, pretzels, carrots with ranch, string cheese sticks, and recently peanut butter and jelly sandwiches
For folks who are very nauseous, I recommend reglan. My doc says it’s a slightly better option than zofran for first trimester, however they work pretty similarly. I tried both in case one would be more helpful than the other, and found that reglan works best for me. I take it now three times a day in combination with diclegis- the combo is giving me a lot of relief!

Upcoming Appointments or Results: 3/31 for second sonogram. First went well BH.
How are you feeling?: very very nauseous. Meds are helping, but I have had to take leave from work.
Rants/Raves: wow every day is different and intense! Yesterday I discovered that despite using lotion, my arms and legs are peeling like I got a terrible sunburn !
Questions: none for now, grateful to read all your experiences.
Upcoming Appointments or Results: couple more weeks, ugh
How are you feeling?: So tired, queasy off and on.
Rants/Raves: Why doesn’t anything sound appetizing? At least with my first two I had a few things that I craved and liked. This time, nothing!
Questions: Anyone had an X-ray or MRI while pregnant? I lean toward that as well, but just curious since that’s a long time to wait with the pain I have...
How are you feeling?: Either extremely hungry or super bloated. There’s no in between. No nausea yet, but my stomach feels uneasy at times.
Rants/Raves: My boobs feel like they’ve just been punched sometimes so that’s fun.
Questions: Does anyone feel crazy tired, but have trouble taking naps? I sleep fine at night, but when I want a little power nap during the day after work I’m so tired but I can’t sleep!
Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: 8weeks 4 days! November 5th

Upcoming Appointments or Results: Just had my first ultrasound yesterday!
How are you feeling?: I feel good. So relieved after the US yesterday. My symptoms have been very mild which I grateful for!
Rants/Raves: got to see my baby’s heart beat yesterday ❤️ And my husband told me yesterday after the appointment “I just want baby cuddles I don’t want to wait”
Questions: My doctor told me that he would book my next appointment after he sees my ultrasound. What happens at this appointment? I’ve seen him once to confirm pregnancy and had a bunch of blood work done already and I had a pap at the beginning of January.
I was supposed to have my appointment last Monday but have been sick, so had to reschedule and now I don't see my doctor until the 13th. I was really looking forward to the appointment because my nausea has been out of this world 24/7 for the last 2-3 weeks.
Thankfully, I'm able to sleep a bit better but it's still not the best. I'm so tired of feeling awful all day.
Besides supplements/medication, is there anything you find helpful for nausea? I've been drinking ginger or peppermint tea. But it only temporarily works.

How are you feeling?: Horrible. I can't eat ANYTHING and struggling to drink enough water, everything seems like its gonna taste bad and I am gagging before I even get the food. I haven't been in my kitchen, only to make rice. I have some nausea sweets and they work more in the afternoon. Also, if I'm not on the verge of throwing up then I literally have the worst heartburn. (I was also really sick with my daughter) I just want to lay in bed until this part is over. BUT I have to work and hide my constant gagging from my small office. lol If I wasn't sick, this might be funny.
Rants/Raves: Nothing right now. I'm just tired of being sick. My SO is recognizing that I need more emotional support and he has really been there.
Questions: Any ideas on food with no flavor and good nutrition, I don't think I can survive on rice, noodles, and saltines?
@jennmc05 do you think you could stomach some plain boiled chicken to get some protein? Maybe some plain oatmeal, but I don't know if the texture would be a problem. Maybe some pedialyte for some electrolytes if you're having trouble keeping things down?
@knottie506c064bcef8e209 usually, at least here, first appointment they'll kind of go over the do's and don't's and get a bit of history, do some bloodwork, and they might do an ultrasound or they might just doppler for a heartbeat (don't freak out if they do that and they don't hear anything. They're so tiny and hide really easily at that stage!)
@jennmc05 you're still in survival mode girl. Just eat what you can! Literally anything you can stomach and that sounds good. And don't worry too much about baby, it's so small it'll take whatever it can from you at this point.

I was graduated from the miscarriage clinic today =D Baby looked good, great heartbeat, appropriate growth from 2 weeks ago. My "official" due date is November 9, but with my repeat CS it'll probably be November 2, or exactly 26 months to the day from my daughter lol. It was also just sitting there chilling when both my son and daughter were going crazy on the screen at this point, so fingers crossed I'll get one calm child out of 3. Not sure if I could handle 3 crazies lol. Going to do the sneak peek test later!!

Shew, I'm ready to break this up, I can't even, like 16 replies in the first 48 hrs. Took me 4 days to find a block of time big enough to do all these @s. I personally vote for split by due dates 11/1-11/8, 11/9-11/15, 11/16-11/23, 11/24-11/30, but happy to have that convo on the board org thread.
@database6 ngl, I've been a touch jealous of all the other early labs, but beyond grateful to not need them.
@Gingermom15 I think most of us are anxious about how many babies they'll see at the first scan, I'm super curious how many twins/multiples we have born in this group.
@fantasyflyte so glad to see your great numbers! Has anyone else from ttgp joined this bmb that you know of? Maybe we don't need a ttgp grad check in on this bmb if it's just you and me 😆
@PurplePumpernickel I need it to get cold enough to diminish the tick population, but not so cold as to kill dh plants he's already got in the ground 😬
@sunshine2417 I'm sorry about your losses. Everyday is like Schrodinger's pregnancy for me, and it gets soooo much worse as my appointments approach. I wish I had an answer that could help with this balance of guarding your heart and wanting to embrace this pregnancy.
@mflowers929 congrats on your graduation and omg, yes on the nursling. I can tell my supply is different because he's scarfing food, but he seems insistent on trying anyway. Most of the time it's okay, but sometimes, ugh, just get off me dude.
@clee5711 yes! Why is it like this? I'm literally falling asleep sitting up, unless it's between 10p and 4am, when I might as well post on the bump/wordle/knit because I can't sleep then.
@ashnicell my allergies are also making the brief spurts of nice weather impossible to enjoy. I went for a walk yesterday, and now my eyes and throat are red and sore ☹️
@peppermint1119 so exciting to be pregnant with a real life friend in addition to us internet randos 😄
@ knottie - Alex , were you out in the sun at all? Pregnancy makes you MUCH more succeptible to sunburn, which I always forget, so thanks for the early reminder. If not, I'd ask about it at your next appt, if you didn't today.
@chuckle_sandwich I feel like I could just copy-paste your post, I do find that if I make myself eat something, I'm able to eat a good sized portion once I get started. At least sometimes.
@sburgh23 I'll trade you some power naps for night sleep.
@nalhambra a few bites of cracker, a small handful of nuts has helped me combat nausea in previous pregnancies, but not working this time, so ymmv.
@chelsea5787 I'm trying so hard not to wish any part of this pregnancy away, but I'm also so impatient to get a peek.

Rants/Raves: Rave: got out in the nice weather for a 3 hour, with lunch break, 4 mile trek pushing 70lbs of stroller+ kiddos for a nice easy workout. Rant: dh ignored my cautioning DD to be done on the monkey bars, so she ended up with badly split blisters. I hate seeing my kids in pain, but especially when I feel like it was so easily avoided. I'm trying to see it as a lesson learned, but omg, the (totally justified) crying.
Questions: is it too early to start a name thread? We have some we're working on, but we're a little stuck. Am I the only one who is thinking about this before even having an initial ob visit?
@sejica Wednesday was good. I am 7w+4 due date is November 13th. I will schedule my c-section at the next visit. I have had brown surgery in the past and can no longer have vaginal births.
Got to see the baby and the heart beat again Heart rate was 159.
They said the sch grew a little so on even more restrictions than before. All together it was a good visit. Next visit is in late April still makes my stomach knot up when I see spotting of any color. It was also just sitting there chilling when both my son and daughter were going crazy on the screen at this point, so fingers crossed I'll get one calm child out of 3. Not sure if I could handle 3 crazies lol.
Going to do the sneak peek test later!!

FTM/STM/TTM+: TTM
Upcoming Appointments or Results: April 11
How are you feeling?: not too bad. The fatigue is hitting hard right now especially with my other two kids starting baseball/softball season.
Rants/Raves: April 11 seems sooooo far away
@brandi-h how did Wednesday go?
Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: 11.16 / 7+1
FTM/STM/TTM+: 4th baby
Upcoming Appointments or Results: 4/12. I POAS yesterday just to make sure it was still positive.
How are you feeling?: Ugh, so gross. I'm definitely ready for that 2nd tri energy and glow.
Am I the only one who is thinking about this before even having an initial ob visit?

still makes my stomach knot up when I see spotting of any color. But the excitement is growing even though we are trying to contain it just in case we have a repeat of 2020 thank you for asking!
