Re: NT/NIPT/FTS Discussion

  • After about 8 weeks or so baby's measurements are no longer indicative of their actual due date/gestational age, just size. DS measured measured ahead at every ultrasound after his dating ultrasound around 7 weeks, and his head circumference was already 10cm at 36 weeks. Likely just means your baby is measuring ahead right now. Just like kiddos babies in utero get growth spurts too, so doesn't necessarily mean baby will bigger at birth.

  • So at my 12 week scan the were unable to get the neck measurement due to babies position so I was unable to have the combined test. When this happens in the uk you get referred for a quad test which is all your statistics get entered into a computer along with your blood results and it generates a risk. Unfortunately mine has come back that baby boy has a 1 in 35 chance of being born with Down’s syndrome. I received that call on Thursday and since then I’ve been constantly crying, I’m off my food I can’t sleep and am just in a constant state of worry. I met the same day with a lady from fetal medicine who has said the test I had has such a high false reading and they have done a nipt test so now they horrible wait for the result begins.
  • @holly0810 that is so unbelievably stressful. I'm pulling for quick results!
  • @holly0810 keeping fingers and toes crossed for you. I hope you get great news ASAP.
  • @holly0810 that's great news!
  • @holly0810 that is amazing news! I can’t imagine the sense of relief you must be feeling!
  • Absolutely over joyed it was the most agonising 8 days I have ever experienced. I’m so glad I refused the amniocentesis. Xx
  • The Natera shady billing is tearing its ugly head. They billed my insurance twice, one for 8K and another for 8.5K?? My insurance rejected one of the claims but paid the other, Natera said they're still sending me a bill for the rejected claim but billing didn't do it yet so they have no idea how much. Hopefully zero because they already got paid from insurance?? Lordy lordy
  • $8,000...as in eight thousand dollars??? That seems way way off to me. Mine was $874... That company is so shady.
  • I think it goes without saying to not pay it. Tell them your insurance already paid it and they told you it was covered and you owed nothing. They will likely try to get you to pay a smaller amount as a "deal". Eff that. Say no.
  • Yes! In total they billed my insurance $17,450, I couldn't believe it.

And absolutely agree on the not paying part. They already paid, certainly not gonna settle and pay anything, ooof
  • That's insane! Wow.
