I've always loved flowers, but I started arranging as a hobby after my daughter passed. I started getting flowers on the weekends and making arrangements to take to her grave. It's become a really special thing where something I started doing just for her is growing into doing it for other people too, and I just love that.

I am weirdly obsessed with @dr.allison.rodgers "Sperm Monday" videos on TikTok. Anyone else?! I just discovered her and love her content. I'm anxious to listen to her fertility podcast.

@mrsmtothek ah yes, I’ve heard of Dr Rodgers from TEW (the Egg Whisperer). She’s had her on her show a few times. What kinds is things have you learned?

I'm all for any (in)fertility content that doesn't treat it as solely a "womans" issue. I find medicine to be inherently misogynistic, even in my own field, so anything that highlights male issues of infertility I am HERE FOR. 

ETA that I don't want *anyone* to have issues TTC, but women seem to carry the emotional burden of TTC, and most lay people just assume the issue lies with the woman.

@acleverusername Mostly that sperm are WEIRD and slightly crazy lol also, some squashed myths about TTC like lying on your back with your legs up for 15 minutes after DTD. I've never done it but I thought that one had some merit maybe? Not according to her.

@mrsmtothek haha that's so interesting. I've definitely done that more than a few times. Or at least lie there for a little bit after and not get up right away.

@mrsmtothek I feel like this would make for a good GTKY... we can all list the weird/crazy TTC myths and superstitions we've heard over the years. I'm sure there are some good ones out there.

oh that would be a good one @kiki047 @mrsmtothek or like waiting until the "end" of your fertile window bc male sperm are slower? i think is that one? they're all so hairbrained

@bbrahmbhatt actually that one might have some merit to it. Specifically mucinex. I know a few people who have tried it lol.

@kiki047 haha I've seen it quite a bit on the interwebs, along with the pineapple core, with purported success. It just makes me nervous for those doing it, since that is what alcoholics will frequently drink if they can't get their hands on actual alcohol. That and vanilla extract, blegh. Especially since I think most people think "if a little is good, more is better" lol.

i mean with the amount of liquid mucinex i've ingested from being sick since weds i better be a damn fertile myrtle at this point - but seriously, the artificial flavoring is NASTY. i don't think i've taken liquid cough syrup in 10 years, but this damn dry cough is BRUTAL

Ok, odd question and I hope not TMI, but does anyone else find that taking mucinex makes them smell different? Like all your secretions (sweat, urine, etc) smell different, like medicinal almost? I swear every time I take it I can smell the change. DH can't, but I have a nose like a blood hound.

@bbrahmbhatt i *think* i am finally on the mend. this cold felt worse than when i had covid in dec. 

oh, not that i've noticed and i have been able to smell just fine. it's going to be 60* here so i may have self tanned myself and i'm just smelling that weird fake saccharine pina colada smell. lol i'll have to ask my husband if i'm off at all lol, he will find this amusing tbh

I've definitely heard of folks trying mucinex with *some* success too?? :shrug:

Some of you guys might remember me mentioning over the past few months a major internship I was applying for. I just got a call and I GOT IT! A PAID internship with one of the leading organizations in my field that'll be a HUGE boost for my future career. I'm so excited!

So the sex timing for male/female sperm speed is accurate in cow breeding. I got lectured by my father about breeding cows and if I wanted another daughter it had to be early not late. Not a conversation you want to have with your dad.

I definitely knew that lying on your back after sex is pointless but I’ve done it anyway.

They have set me free in the ER, NICU and Maternity. I have also started discussing with a local company to get credentialed to start doing PPD/PPA therapy.
