2nd Trimester

High soft cervix

Just want to start by saying I DO NOT CHECK MY CERVIX. I’m 17 weeks with second baby. Was diagnosed with a low lying placenta around 12 weeks although idt it’s related. 2/11 I was experiencing some odd pain around 1 am. Back pain and also Braxton hicks that continued when I woke up. Today 2/12 I took a shower and due to bv like discharge (suffer from chronic bv but was bv free around 13 weeks) I washed my hands with a non scented soap and inserted my finger to “rinse” (drs advice pre pregnancy) I’ve done this maybe twice pregnant because I try not to mess around in there. I unintentionally noticed my cervix is very short (almost flat with the upper vaginal wall) and also very soft. In a bit of panic mode because from my understanding it should be firm with a little length. Anybody else have this happen? Any advice? Drs office never answers calls so doubt I’ll get a response over the weekend with emergency number.

Re: High soft cervix

  • I would keep your fingers out of there while your pregnant. Also, to my knowledge, the position of the cervix is irrelevant until you’re in labor. But you should call your doctor, Monday- this is not an emergency, and tell them your concerns.
  • ^^^ That part.
People think we become mothers when we give birth but the truth is we become mothers the moment we start calling our babies to us in our thoughts, dreams and prayers. Some paths are short and some are so long that you can easily forget where you were headed.

How I feel all of the time.
