How are you feeling? I am definitely slowing down. My body aches by the afternoon (I stand all day at work) and I have very little energy at night. Also I am definitely as big as I was with DS5 FULL TERM already. 😬
Rants/raves: RAVE! We had our birthday party for DS5 yesterday and it was SO SO GREAT! It ended up being a smaller group because ALL of the family had to drop out for various reasons (illnesses, covid, work, etc) so it was just about 6 of his school friends and a couple of our non-school friends- pretty much everyone we already have contact with on the reg so YAY! He requested a taste test as the big activity so I set up a bunch of snacks in the different taste categories (sweet, salty, sour, bitter) and we just went through them. It brought me back to my teaching days and made me really nostalgic actually. We all just had so much fun and I am so happy we pulled it off.

Upcoming appointments: I just had one this afternoon— OB says baby has a healthy heartbeat and she’s not concerned at all about his health after having COVID. 🥰🎉 Next one is in 2 weeks with a different doctor. I’m starting to rotate to the other doctors in the practice so I can make sure I meet them all before getting whoever is on call for my birth!
How are you feeling? So much better than even just last week! Hubby and I went for a hike yesterday and my lungs held up great— no issues with endurance! The heartburn is still absolutely insane. 🔥🥵My SI joint also has been pretty painful lately, I’m sure partly due to being sick and throwing my body out of wack, partly because it’s been longer than usual since I got it adjusted by my chiropractor, and partly because I’m pregnant. 🤷🏻♀️ So I’m whipping out the SI belt again (haven’t had to use it in over a year now!)
Rants/raves: Baby has been kicking backward toward my spine lately, and starting yesterday he’s been hitting an actual nerve. 😑 It’s only happened about 3 times now but DANG it is painful!!!
Also, I found out a friend of mine who happened to also be my due date twin just gave birth prematurely to her baby. Thankfully they’re both doing well, but it was just kind of shocking to me that someone with my same due date now has their baby on the outside now! Just kind set the reality in that he’s coming pretty soon now!
Questions: For those of you using SI belts (I think I remember there were a few other people here with SI joint pain too), are you wearing it lower on your hips to accommodate for your belly? I tried it around the widest part of my hips (where I’d wear it before I became pregnant), but now that there’s a belly in the way it seems way too constricting, and moving it lower seems like it might be not as effective?

How are you feeling? Feeling mostly ok. I ordered a seat cushion for work because I was in SO much pain last week from my office chair, and I really hope it helps. I've also had some gnarly heartburn (yay for hair...I hope!). And still dealing with insomnia, but now instead of sitting in bed I've deciding to get up and read or listen to a podcast instead of tossing and turning in bed.
Rants/raves: This is both a rant and a rave -- I'm finally noticing a bigger bump and it's a great affirmation that this is really happening and I'm definitely wearing clothes to try and show it off more, but it's also making getting around a little more uncomfortable. Like seriously...I groan pretty much every time I get up, and thankfully I'm able to laugh through the pain/discomfort...but it also freaks me out a bit when I realize it's only going to get worse and I still have about 10 weeks left! Another rant -- I'm just so annoyed with the whole COVID mentality that we're all going to get it so just deal with it. Ugh. People in my office are mostly mindful, but cases are rapidly increasing here and the lack of response in the higher ups at my office drives me nuts. My supervisor said "I just had to trust that I'd be ok" when I expressed my concern with COVID and my third trimester. And sure, I'm doing what I can to stay healthy, but I also felt completely dismissed. Today he said people in his household are starting to feel sick and so now he's a little worried...but I guess not too worried since he still came into work today. Definitely keeping my distance!
Questions: none
@kiwi2628 - that sounds awful, but I'm a little curious about the underwear...is it basically super tight underwear?
@shlecks - sounds like a fun birthday party! I'm glad it worked out!
@kiwi2628 That sounds horrendous! Glad you’re having it checked out and hopefully helped by a professional.
@shlecks I hear you on the size comparison — I think I’m pretty close to how big I was with DD at 35 weeks! I definitely feel bigger, at least. And your DS’s party sounds super rad, I want to be his friend!
@minnie_yoga_mama I know you’re so relieved to know your LO is okay!
@jessabelle05 I always get so frustrated when people are so cavalier about other people’s safety, I’m sorry you’re having to deal with that.

How are you feeling? Put myself on iron supplements even though I hate them, since I’m feeling all the classic symptoms of some nice iron-deficient anemia. Also the Braxton-Hicks some days take my breath away and it is so hard to just get comfortable at all, which makes me irritable, and then I feel bad for being grouchy… Yoga has been helping a lot and I’ve been trying to do 10-20 minutes of some kind of pregnancy meditation although it doesn’t happen most days. I’ve never been great at quieting my mind, too many to-do lists in there.
Rants/raves: We saw a friend today that I haven’t seen for a few years, and she has a daughter DD’s age as well as an 18-month old. Watching DD watch those two girls was interesting because I could almost see the wheels turning in her head, thinking about what it’s REALLY like to have a younger sibling. But we got in the car and DD was so thrilled to have hung out with them and said it made her so excited to have a “baby friend” of her own soon. Warmed my heart right up!
@shlecks Happy birthday to your DS! And I’m also a lot bigger than last time around too, probably 3-4 weeks ahead based on photos.

Upcoming appointments: I was supposed to have one Wednesday, but I had to move it back a week due to having COVID. So next Thursday now.
How are you feeling? COVID sucks while pregnant, even having a mild case. I’m sooooo fatigued, and I’m having to wear panty liners because I keep peeing myself while sneezing 🙄 Starting to feel better though, so at least that’s good. Also, I was having some electrical feelings near my heart a few days ago. That’s not super unusual for me (I have a bit of a sparky heart) but it lasted for several hours, which was more than I usually get.
Rants/raves: Rave- DS was so well behaved and such a sweet boy on our trip. It was awesome to show him off to that side of the family ☺️ Rant- I’ve been vaccinated and boosted, DH is just vaccinated, and DS isn’t old enough. How did I get the worst case of COVID? Not that I want them to get it worse, just that I was hoping I’d be asymptomatic given how recently I was boosted.
@jessabelle05 I'm feeling similarly at work, but not due to my direct boss, just really the state! It feels like they've just given up!

How are you feeling? Meh. My left hip feels off, little nug must be in a weird spot. I have a hemorrhoid that's killing me. And I'm def getting a little more pregsomnia.
Rants/raves: DS6 and DS3 both have already had exposures this week (well, last week, but found out yesterday and today), and DS3 had his preschool director test positive. So H is home with him for one day due to short staff and doing drop off in the morning for G. Rave: PT seems to be helping, my pain isn't nearly as bad!

How are you feeling? large. It hit me all at once. My MB hurts so I was rolling out on my lacrosse ball/foam roller doing cat camel stretching and it occurred to me this is it, I've finally hit my 3 trimester problem list. I'm now ignoring my own icing rules and am in a tepidly warm bath just chilling trying to get the paraspinal spasm to stop before I try to lay down.
Rants/raves: So my work planned this semi huge get together. We precovid loved these. No joke. We totally nerd out everyone talks shop and we break bread play at top golf for like at least an hour. This year before I clicked yes on my RSVP, (as it has been rescheduled from February 2020 3 times to 2022) I reread the invite. Curious, no mask directions, odd since we require masks in office. So I text one of the people planning it for more information. No masks required. So I sent a decline to invite and said if mask were required I'd go or I am happy to attend virtually. Now I sweated it all weekend that this would not go over well. I pre-emptively got on a virtual hours call today with my boss and told them what I did and how even though I had Covid I could get it again and I'm high risk AMA etc. Luckily they told me they understood and gave me a virtual option but said that option was only offered if someone said they were uncomfortable. Does that seem like it takes advantage of the situation to anyone else? I was kind of surprised because what if people aren't willing to speak up but aren't comfortable? I mean I'm happy they accommodated and maybe I'm just reading too much into it because of how emotionally invested I already am. But it just rubbed me wrong.
@kiwi2628 hope the undies help. @shlecks miss parties. Sounds like a great one. It's always nice when you have fun too. @minnie_yoga_mama is your SI belt a pregnancy belt? Because they make a cut away area for your Belly to fit better and I know many people do have to rewrap them when they change positions really quick because the fit in a different position changes. @jessabelle05 I hear you on the work craziness and Covid. It's just frustrating. Hope you stay healthy. @monstera13 Covid is no fun any way you look at it. I'm just glad you are feeling better hope the sparky heart sx does not return, always disconcerting.
@SmashJam That sucks. Sorry about the headache that is Covid exposure hope no one at your house has it.
Questions: Does this board currently feel like equal parts pregnancy and Covid forum to anyone else? I just hope everyone is healthy by April and infection rates slow down soon. Take care everyone.
@shlecks I'm happy you finally had the party and it was a success!
@monstera13 I think all sickness hits harder when you're pregnant. When I was sick after Christmas, we all tested negative for covid, and I was out for well over a week. 3 year old was fine after 2 days and my husband was just sniffly for a week. I was jealous
@aloha_mama I should try yoga. Take it easy but still get myself moving more

Upcoming appointments: 2 weeks just did gestational diabetes test today so hopefully that ends well🤞
How are you feeling? Discouraged. I had pre-eclampsia with my son and I've been extra monitored this pregnancy and last night I had my first elevated blood pressure. Had my doctor's appointment today already scheduled and they tested me twice and it was still elevated. It doesn't mean I have it again but it feels like that is the direction I'm headed and I'm just bummed and worried. I hate that I can't control it and it can have a big affect on my son and myself.
Rants/raves: My son's first tee-ball game over the weekend went better than expected, WAY better than practice. Only cried in the beginning when he couldn't get the ball every time it was hit. My birthday was yesterday and I slept in, the boys made me breakfast and I was able to just relax and it's what I needed.
@rbflei I didn’t realize they had ones with belly cut outs! I’m definitely going to look into getting one! Thank you!! Any brand recommendations?
It’s too bad they’re not offering a virtual or similar option for your work event unless someone declines. I’ve also had to turn down a lot of invitations and events these past couple months. It’s not easy to juggle social/work pressures and your personal safety during these COVID times. Props to you for not getting pressured into compromising your comfort levels! 🙌
@robbenson Happy birthday!🎉 Sorry to hear you’re feeling discouraged about your blood pressure. There’s only so much we can control during these pregnancies and so much is out of our hands. Remind yourself you’re doing everything you can right now it make sure you have a healthy pregnancy for your baby boy.❤️
@kiwi2628 That sounds awful! Will the compression underwear help to treat it or is it just something you’ll have to manage that’ll resolve after birth?
@shlecks Happy birthday to your DS!! He must have had a blast with all his friends there and the taste testing event!
@jessabelle05 I’m with you there on the disbelief! Reality is finally kicking in that I’m roughly t-minus 19 weeks until he’s actually here!!
@aloha_mama Have you tried or heard of the app, Insight Timer? I use it every day to do a guided meditation in the morning and a yoga nidra track while I’m falling asleep. I love it!! There’s an actual meditation timer if you want to just play music and set it for a certain time so you don’t have to keep checking the clock, but they also have a huge library of free guided meditation tracks you can play, with quite a few pregnancy specific ones too! It definitely helped me get into a daily meditation routine!
@monstera13 So glad you’re starting to feel better! I was also frustrated that I was so sick and symptomatic after being fully vaccinated, but I think since our immune systems are suppressed due to being pregnant, it makes it hit harder regardless.
@SmashJam I’m glad the PT is helping! These preggo-pains can be hard to deal with but I’ve found both chiropractic and PT have been so helpful!
Also has anyone else noticed The Bump has been super glitchy?? It took me forever to do all these tags because it’s acting up so much for me!
@minnie_yoga_mama Yep, I hate the Bump app for that very reason! It was like this 4.5 years ago during DS’s pregnancy and I don’t know how it hasn’t been fixed in that time!
@monstera13 Right? I thought when I signed up for this board that it would all be super streamlined and so much better- NO. They have LITERALLY changed nothing.
@minnie_yoga_mama YES! I discovered it a few weeks ago and have been loving it. There’s a few pregnancy/childbirth playlists on there that I favorited and I’ve really been enjoying it. I haven’t tried the actual timer yet but it sounds great! I usually don’t have time for more than 10-15 minutes.
@monstera13@minnie_yoga_mama yes super glitchy! I couldn't even see this weekly check in yesterday/last night or this AM. I had to reload the page like 4 times. so annoying.
@aloha_mama do you have a specific yoga practice/routine/video that you follow? I definitely need to get moving a bit more while also "taking it easy" as my doc put it, but MFM said yoga would be okay since I did it for years before this pregnancy. Also, "baby friend" is the cutest phrase!
@kiwi2628 ouch! I hope the compression underwear help.
@robbenson sorry to hear about the elevated pressures FX it doesn't progress to PreE.
@rbflei I find it really odd they're only offering the virtual option to a select group. It seems like they're singling people out. I would think it would be an option for everyone.
@SmashJam I can totally empathize with you on the hip issue, my right hip keeps going numb.
@monstera13 I hope you start to feel better very soon!
@jessabelle05 do you take anything for your heartburn? hope you get some relief soon.

How are you feeling? meh, I have good days and rough days. My hip has been going numb so OB is referring me to PT and yesterday the nausea was so bad, but rebounded today. Wearing a support belt has been helpful, but I really want to get active again. I worked out the entirety of my last pregnancy and I really think that helped with delivery and recovery.

Upcoming appointments: nothing this week, back to the midwife next week
How are you feeling? Pretty good; still dealing with back and pubic bone pain, but they are manageable... and so much heartburn!
Rants/raves: At my last appointment, my midwife gave me a prescription for something for heartburn... and it's recalled. All versions, even generic. So we'll have to talk about it again next week. For a rave, my oldest (3 yo) is getting so excited for the baby. He's constantly asking if the baby is big and strong enough to come out, and he's starting to talk about things he wants to do (which is everything... has an apple for a snack, and is like, 'soon maybe he'll eat an apple WITH me!')
@minnie_yoga_mama So glad that baby seems to be healthy after you having Covid - what a relief!
@jessabelle05 Ugh, I'm sorry your dealing with people who are 'over' Covid... I stress about getting sick a lot, and couldn't deal with all of that
@aloha_mama Have you tried guided body scan mediations? When I'm struggling with meditations, I find it's the one that I can always do, I think because it gives my mind something to actively do
@monstera13 Ugh, sorry you're still feeling so tired! Hopefully you start to get some energy back soon!
@rbflei I'd be so annoyed at that work situation... weird that they aren't requiring masks when you wear them in the office
@robbenson Aww, sorry about the BP... I really hope it turns out to be nothing
@Avrilmai We didn't see any regressions with our oldest, although I was tandem nursing, so didn't have to deal with that jealousy... he was mostly just excited or ignored her lol
@Avrilmai I’ve been following the yoga classes on Daily Burn. Before getting pregnant I did a lot of their HIIT and cardio/strength programs, but the prenatal yoga has been amazing— the videos are organized by trimester and the instructor is pregnant, too, so she talks a lot about safety and modifying stretches/poses and what benefits they have for pregnancy. Everything is very gentle and more about stretching things out than getting stronger or more flexible. They’re each about a half hour long but it feels good to just stretch my hips and lower back out because they feel so tight now. On the schedule they have you do one class every other day and then two rest days on the weekend.
@Avrilmai if you’re looking for something free on YouTube I highly recommend Bettina Rae. She specializes in yoga for fertility and pregnancy and has a wide range of classes for all different stages and pregnancy related complaints. The classes are very gentle and run anywhere from 10 to 40 ish minutes depending on how long of a class you want. She focuses a lot on poses and breathing techniques that are helpful for preparing the body for labor.
@minnie_yoga_mama so glad to hear you are feeling better! Thinking of your due date twin
@jessabelle05 ugh... all of the insomnia. I've actually also started just getting a little extra work done in the morning instead of trying to get back to sleep.
@aloha_mama so sweet! Sounds like your DD is getting excited to be a big sister!
@rbflei I totally get how you feel. It seems wrong not to at least offer the option especially considering this current surge. Glad that you have the virtual option so that you are comfortable!
@robbenson hugs like minnie said, there's so much you can't control in pregnancy. Give yourself a little break, you're doing great mama!
@avrilmai sorry you're not feeling 100% body-wise. Could some light walking be a possible start?

How are you feeling? Feeling good, baby is good. Had an ultrasound to check on my placenta today, good news is it's no longer low-lying! Baby is measuring 3.5 pounds - I know those measurements are not super reliable but wow!!
Rants/raves: So obviously so happy that the baby is doing well but ugh, what a last couple of days. MH took my car (a sedan) into the city this weekend because it's much easier to find street parking than for his big truck. Well, when he came back to the car to come home he found police and a tow truck... someone had tried to get around a bus apparently and hit my car and 2 others Of course, my car took the initial impact and is in really rough shape, I'm not sure what the insurance is going to say but I don't have high hopes. So we are a one-car household for now... not sure for how long. So much is dependent on if I get a new job or go back to my old job in September, or do neither and stay home with the baby. Needless to say between trying to figure out work plus the car plus pregnancy I have been super emotional this week. I actually feel bad how many nights MH has had to deal with my tears. One day at a time!
@fameonmain2 that is such a stressful spot to be in. I feel like every day there would be a new "better" idea that you think of and really all of them are just weighing on you with different pros and cons. I hope the insurance company comes through and makes it easier on you.
Upcoming appointments: Feb 2nd for NST and follow up visit with Dr. I was supposed to have NSTs this week (per conversation with dr) but the nurse called and was like "uhhh we don't do NSTs before 32 weeks" I told her that's fine my Dr seemed quite confused on what I should be doing when I met with him (recall my super long day in the randoms thread and him changing his mind a bunch). So much *facepalm* over this whole thing.
How are you feeling? I've been super tired lately. Not sure if its pregancy, insomnia, or something else. But I feel like I'm constantly looking forward to going to bed. Also he kicked me in the rib today and that was not a fun sensation. I mean its cool he's getting bigger, but hard pass on rib kicks!
Rants/raves: Rant - My family is weirdly very drama free, so any drama that comes up is always shocking. My grandma has been in and out of the hospital for a month which is very unusual for her (non covid). She's been extremely healthy her whole life. Well I decided last week to send her some flowers and I put on the from as "all the grandkids" (7 of us). I didn't even tell anyone I was doing it besides my siblings. Well my cousin sent me a nasty text about how I need to "include her side of the family next time" like WTF, can you say thank you for including everyone in the flowers to grandma? My other cousins had a perfectly reasonable response of "Thank you for doing that, can I contribute a bit towards the cost?" So frustrating when people get so hostile for absolutely no reason. Raves - I'm sure that I'm very biased, but DH and I really feel like DS5 is such an amazing kid. We were without a nanny for 1.5 weeks due to covid and he was so chill the whole week. He watched an unfortunate amount of TV since we have to work, but overall he was such a good kid and kept to himself. We had family staying with us this weekend and he was so kind to his girl cousin and shared his toys and played so well with her. They played "daycare" and put their babies down for naptime together. He eats pretty much anything we put in front of him, last night was curry noodles with bok choy, edamame, and mushrooms which he ate completely. It just makes my heart explode so much. How did we get so lucky? (am I being hormonal?? )
@fameonmain2 Transportation issues are some seriously stressful issues. I am so sorry you guys are working through that. I hope it gets figured out soon and to your benefit.
@Blondesweety444 I feel like your update is chapter 2 of the saga. Hope it gets figured out soon. But reading it does make me chuckle. Also there is always a complainer in every group. Good on you for getting something done. I hope she like the flowers.
@minnie_yoga_mama I feel bad because I used to keep up on brands of that SI belt product and I don't anymore. Sorry. But I did see a few options on a quick Amazon search and you could probably check with your OB they might have a few ideas.
@minnie_yoga_mama the SI belt should be basically around your pubic bone and middle of your butt - even not pregnant. The widest part is kind of misleading because that's different for everyone.
@Avrilmai FWIW, most of the girls in my other BMB did the Oh Crap method and so were on the earlier side of potty training, but for those girls who did and also had siblings shortly after there were not regressions. Regressions in behavior otherwise, yes, but not in potty training. I think it might be different if you potty train on the older side because then the child has gotten used to going in a diaper/having accidents, etc, so it's more normalized for them, but at least among kids who potty train early (and a relatively small sample size of, what, 20 kids?) it doesn't seem to be a factor. (I don't know if night training would differ - very few of us night trained.)

Upcoming appointments: I think I still have another 2 weeks? I actually think I was supposed to be seen this week but the scheduler fucked up. But I feel baby move every 3 seconds so I don't know what a doppler is good for at this point lol. Just more opportunity to catch covid and get tired putting pants on.
How are you feeling? Lots of pain, the usual.
Rants/raves: Baby's room is finally making progress. DH demoed the closet, patched (okay, I patched), painted, and then installed the Elfa closet unit. Then I redid the Elfa closet unit today lol. It took him like FOUR FUCKING HOURS to do it the first time, and it was wrong (he managed to do it so none of the drawers would open because the edges at the doorframe were blocking them?), and it took me 15 min to fix. I put a bunch of baby stuff away and organized by size so I can visually see that I do NOT need any more 0-3m stuff, but I probably could use a little more of the other sizes.
Questions: anyone else just feeling like they're full-term (but obviously not)? Like, I feel and look as big (belly-wise; still 10 more pounds until I weigh as much) as I did with DD3 when I was 40 weeks. How am I going to get 10 weeks bigger? She was born at 40+4, so I feel like there isn't a huge likelihood I actually go early, but I just feel soooo much pressure on my cervix all day long, and I get braxton hicks sooooo many times per day (still not the like 6x/hr that they get concerned about, but like 5x/hr is still really annoying). Like, really, 10 more weeks? But I also don't want a baby in the NICU so obviously not hoping he comes massively early or anything.
@jessabelle05 I feel the same way about people's attitudes to COVID. Things are really bad in our state and everyone from politicians, to friends to even my FIL who we live with are just like "Oh well, let it rip. We're all going to get it anyway." I'm NOT okay with that.
Upcoming appointments: Glucose test tomorrow. Not overly keen for it.
How are you feeling? Often tired in the day, and then unable to sleep at night. But other than that, great!
Rants/raves: Rant: I'm going back to school on Friday and I feel like all my efforts to avoid COVID so far will end up being a waste as I can just see myself getting it in the coming weeks from work. We have a staff day Friday+Monday then the kids come back on Tuesday. My principal is very blase about COVID restrictions - an example is she doesn't bother wearing a mask around us when we go in her office, even though it's mandatory. Also, she said in her email to us that we can't gather as a whole staff (so I'm not sure why our staff days aren't remote then) but then in her schedule she has us gathering all together for parts of the day??? I can see it's going to be a stressful term for me. Rave: Picking up my new car tomorrow afternoon! It's my first time having a brand new, non-pre owned car.
@doxiemoxie212 a shop owner told me with my first that boys always come earlier than girls because boys are less mature - so you can take that with as much salt as you want 😆
@Blondesweety444 I feel that way about my DS5 too! He is just the sweetest kid most of the time and he cracks us up constantly. He is picky with his food though, lol
@doxiemoxie212 YES to feeling full term. I keep thinking HOW am I going to get bigger? How will I fit into any clothes? haha
@aloha_mama Aww, "baby friend" is the cutest thing I've ever heard!

Feeling: Tired, hard to roll over in bed/change positions in general, hard to get in and out of bed, on and off the couch or floor, in and out of the car... Occasionally catch myself waddling... The baby has been kicking me in some uncomfortable places, but I mostly enjoy feeling him move around.
Rave: I got to go wedding dress shopping with my future SIL and her other bridesmaids, and it was so fun! She studied fashion in college and is infinitely more fashionable than me, haha. I had never gone with anyone to try on wedding dresses before (when I got mine, it was just me and my mom), so it was cool to go as a group and talk about the options to help her decide. (She was really pretty sure already, but I think she just wanted confirmation from others that it was the right choice.) Anyway, just a fun social day out, which was a nice change of pace.
Questions: Kick counting - how important is it really? I usually feel the baby move at certain times. If I'm concerned because he doesn't move when I expect him to, I can follow the advice to try to get him to move (drink something cold, etc). If he still doesn't move or I'm still concerned, I can call the doctor. Is it really necessary to do kick counting every day for the next three months?
Me: 30 // Hubs: 31 Married May 2019 Baby #1 due April 19, 2022
@doxiemoxie212 Yes - I feel huge and like I should be much further along than just 30 weeks... my 3yo was asking me last night if there was going to be enough room in my belly as the baby got bigger/stronger lol
@missa_lyssa My midwife team doesn't have us do formal kick counts. They say to get used to what seems normal for baby, and then just be aware of movements; if anything seems out of the ordinary, then sit down and do a kick count, and if there is a concern to call. My kids have always been active, so I don't think I've ever actually counted movements lol
@missa_lyssa if I counted kicks I would be doing nothing but counting kicks all day. Every baby is different in what's normal for them, and where your placenta is located makes a difference in what you feel, etc. I think it's just like if something feels dramatically wrong then do kick counting for an hour before you call in so you can give them data.
@missa_lyssa After having COVID I was instructed to do daily kick counts for a couple weeks, but my OB told me at my appointment Monday that since everything looks good I only need to do kick counts if I notice a decrease in his normal kicking routine or frequency. If it’s generally consistent, no need to actually count!
Test result are in and I don't have gestational diabetes 🙌 whew, one worry off the plate!
I also would only do kick counts if something felt off. I did them yesterday because I swore I didn't feel him throughout the day and when I paid attention, I was wrong lol he's always doing something
I downloaded the "count the kicks app" and they had some really helpful information about counting kicks. I'm not super consistent about using it every day (esp if babe has been trying to bust out all afternoon). But they talk about watching trends over time...ie is it taking a lot longer to get to 10 kicks than it did before or are the strength of the kicks a lot less than they used to be. They have charts and graphs that they show you based on the kick count session. So every evening when I lay down at like 9ish I try to do a kick count when he's at his most active just so I can keep an eye on trends even though I know that at this moment it isn't a problem.
I'm also higher risk for placental issues due to my history so it important for me to be diligent.
I feel like I look 42+ weeks!!! I don’t know how this is possible because I am still at least 20 -30 lbs less than when the other two were born but my stomach is expannnsivvve. Like how is this normal? Scared for 40 weeks if I make it!

How are you feeling? Humungous but otherwise good during the day. Night is painful with heartburn and then rib pain from propping up pillows for the heartburn. Last night I was up for an entire hour at night sitting straight up because the heartburn was so real. I am def going to try that salt trick someone suggested!!!
Rants/raves: I love my pregnancy pillow for lounging but I feel like I can’t figure out how to use it to actually sleep. I have to have another pillow on top of it for my head but then my arm is in pain. I have the snoogle that is u shaped. Any ideas? Or maybe I just need something else.
My rave is that Snoo sent an email and they are sending it early due to concerns about supply chain holdups and want to make sure it arrives in time. But also they aren’t going to start the trial period until a week after the date I ordered it to be delivered. So now I get more time learn how to use it. I also just get really excited about good customer service. Speaking of, I ordered an Ollie and the packaging is so adorable.
I agree with how glitchy the site has been lately. Trying to respond to everyone on mobile is so frustrating and hard. I have been apart of 3 BMBs and the IF board for years before that and I feel like nothing has changed for years!! This is a major reason the move to other platforms is so nice, it makes it easier to really get to know and respond to everyone.
How are you feeling? Still nauseous any time I eat. My GD test was fine, so I'm glad for that but it is not the explanation for why I'm feeling sick. My midwife suggested eating more protein, so that's what I will try next.
Rants/raves: We got a dresser for the baby, which was the last big thing we needed. So I was able to wash all the clothes we have for her and get everything organized, so that was nice, and also made me really excited for her to get here. Also, clothing sizes for babies are wildly different, even if the tag says they're the same size. Especially, probably, because we have "girl" clothes. Also, I read everyone's check ins, we were so talkative this week, it was nice to see!
Questions: Most of the clothes/blankets/other cloth baby stuff says "machine wash cold, gentle cycle. Cool dry" does anybody wash their baby clothes differently than other clothes or just throw it all in?
@dinomeetsjedi I use an unscented detergent for all of us (and dryer balls instead of dryer sheets) because I'm sensitive to fragrance, so don't worry as much... with our first, I didn't like letting it pile up until I had a full load, so I'd mix mine and the baby's (but kept my husband's separate, as it's always dirtier). Now that we have two kids, I tend to have a load for them, but still will mix it with mine. I just do normal cycles (warm wash) unless it's something that I know needs special care (my son has merino base layers for his outdoor preschool - they are always washed cold/gentle and hung to dry), and dry on low heat (which is what I tend to use for everything except towels and bedding).
@dinomeetsjedi I’m team throw it all in. But like @doula-mama , my DHs clothes are dirtier (he works in HVAC), so I wash his separately and do mine and the kids together.
@dinomeetsjedi I’m big follower of the “Lazy Mom Philosophy”, so I throw everything together at once. I don’t even separate by color most days, I just don’t have the energy lol so if there are baby clothes that can’t hack it being washed with a load of towels or whatever it just goes straight into the trash when it starts fraying after a couple of washes. I’ve found most things hold up really well in just a generic, tap cold wash with regular dry cycle. I also cloth diaper so if I were to wash baby clothes separately a ton of my life would be spent washing things and I just don’t have the time or patience.

@kiwi2628 - that sounds awful, but I'm a little curious about the underwear...is it basically super tight underwear?
@shlecks - sounds like a fun birthday party! I'm glad it worked out!
@shlecks I hear you on the size comparison — I think I’m pretty close to how big I was with DD at 35 weeks! I definitely feel bigger, at least. And your DS’s party sounds super rad, I want to be his friend!

@kiwi2628 hope the undies help.
Questions: Does this board currently feel like equal parts pregnancy and Covid forum to anyone else? I just hope everyone is healthy by April and infection rates slow down soon. Take care everyone.
Take it easy but still get myself moving more
Estimated due date/ weeks + days: 4/18 28 weeks
@robbenson Happy birthday!🎉 Sorry to hear you’re feeling discouraged about your blood pressure. There’s only so much we can control during these pregnancies and so much is out of our hands. Remind yourself you’re doing everything you can right now it make sure you have a healthy pregnancy for your baby boy.❤️
@monstera13 @minnie_yoga_mama yes super glitchy!

Questions:
@shlecks Sounds like you guys had a blast!
@SmashJam Glad the PT is helping!
@monstera13 hope you keep feeling better!

MH took my car (a sedan) into the city this weekend because it's much easier to find street parking than for his big truck.
Rants/raves:
Rant - My family is weirdly very drama free, so any drama that comes up is always shocking. Well my cousin sent me a nasty text about how I need to "include her side of the family next time"
Raves - I'm sure that I'm very biased, but DH and I really feel like DS5 is such an amazing kid.
Questions: none ATM.

Questions: natm
@doxiemoxie212 YES to feeling full term. I keep thinking HOW am I going to get bigger? How will I fit into any clothes? haha
Upcoming appointment: Next week.

Baby #1 due April 19, 2022
I also would only do kick counts if something felt off. I did them yesterday because I swore I didn't feel him throughout the day and when I paid attention, I was wrong lol he's always doing something
I'm also higher risk for placental issues due to my history so it important for me to be diligent.
eta here’s a picture of my chart

How are you feeling? Humungous but otherwise good during the day. Night is painful with heartburn and then rib pain from propping up pillows for the heartburn. Last night I was up for an entire hour at night sitting straight up because the heartburn was so real. I am def going to try that salt trick someone suggested!!!
Rants/raves:
I love my pregnancy pillow for lounging but I feel like I can’t figure out how to use it to actually sleep.
