  • EDD / Weeks + Days: 8/31  4w4d

Baby is the size of a(n): poppyseed

    Team: Finding out

    Upcoming Appointments: 1/24 first ultrasound

How are you feeling?: sensitive nose, thirsty always, tired

Rants/Raves: so glad the stress of Christmas is past. Enjoying the week off work with our 3yo and 1yo

    Questions:

GTKY- Favorite show, movie, and/or book? Beetlejuice is my fav movie of all time, for sure.

  • EDD / Weeks + Days: 8/11 7w4d

Baby is the size of a(n): raspberry/ dice/ honey bee

    Team: finding out

    Upcoming Appointments: January 3rd

How are you feeling?:  at the current moment, fine. But in general, like absolute garbage. I’ve been super nauseous, my boobs are super sore, my belly is super upset, and I’ve been super fatigued/tired.

Rants/Raves: We told our children on Christmas morning and they were underwhelmed and then didn’t tell anyone so it’s basically just a family secret now. My oldest has been talking about it and wants to do a gender reveal cake because he saw video that we did that when we were expecting him. He’s also given me a couple name suggestions and says it’s a(nother) boy. My youngest is convinced it’s a girl, and I hope he’s right lol. Now I have to figure out a new way to tell our families seeing my children dropped the ball.

    Questions: nope

GTKY- Favorite show, movie, and/or book? I like true crime shows. I also am patiently waiting for a new season of Virgin River. I also enjoy trash tv like the 90 day saga, sister wives, and occasionally teen mom. My all time favorite movie is Johnny Dangerously or Stick It. I’m not a huge reader because it’s hard to find time (and quiet), so I basically just read the Bible, or devotionals.

  • @paytonpedro I love VR!! I’m also not a big reader but love to do Bible devotionals.

  • EDD / Weeks + Days: August 20, 2022/6weeks 1 day

Baby is the size of a(n): sweet pea

Team: not sure if we are finding out yet 💙💗

Upcoming Appointments: Just had one on the 23rd, going again on Jan 6th for another ultrasound and to get an Rx for prenatals.

How are you feeling?: I think I have covid, so I'm feeling rotten. I'm very anxious about treatment options and how it will affect our baby.

Rants/Raves: I'm annoyed at the prices of prenatal vitamins!! What the heck?! Why is everything so expensive and not covered by insurance? That's a load of crap.

Questions: What do you do for restless legs at night? Last night was ridiculous!

GTKY- Favorite show, movie, and/or book? I've been watching the MCU Spinoffs with MH, and we have to finish Hawkeye yet. Favorite movie of all time is The Goonies, but my favorite Christmas movie is A Muppet Christmas Carol. I don't have a favorite book. I love to read almost everything. I've been doing a daily devotion with my Bible through the Hallow app.

  • @and_peggy love that!! Do you use the YouVersion Bible app? They have great devotionals on there for everything!
@bridgiebee82 oh I’m going to look into the hallow app! Thanks for mentioning that! To answer your question, getting up and moving for a couple seconds usually helps my RL, although I really only get them before bed when I’m really tired and once I fall asleep they let up. I hope I don’t start getting them in the middle of the night like previous pregnancies.
  • @paytonpedro I do use YouVersion or just independent studies, usually through my church. Our Womens Minister has written several and they’re great.

Glad to hear they’re some ladies here with a similar lifestyle as me.

  • EDD / Weeks + Days: Aug 23, 6 weeks tomorrow

Baby is the size of a(n): still teeny tiny

    Team: Finding out

Upcoming Appointments: Not until 10+ weeks

How are you feeling?: Rotten. Got myself tested for COVID this morning and I am thankfully negative, but still feeling just awful. First vacation in a year and of course I’m spending it in bed, waaaaaahhhhhh

Rants/Raves: I love my family, but someone brought this germ to my house at Christmas and I do not love that!

Questions: Does anyone know if the doctor can hear a heartbeat on Doppler at 10 weeks? Or maybe it’s too early?

GTKY- Favorite show, movie, and/or book? I’m a big reader so it’s hard to pick just one. My favorite of all time is a The Sun Also Rises, but I just finished The Water Dancer and it was terrific, highly recommend.

  • @maggiemadeit as far as I know, doppler can pick up a heartbeat as early as 8 weeks but sometimes not...So there will definitely be a possibility! <3
  • @maggiemadeit my last pregnancy I was able to find baby on my home Doppler at 9w2d and was always able to find it consistently after that but my doctor wasn’t able to find it until almost 11 weeks. So it’s definitely possible but your doc may or may not have success.

Baby is the size of a(n): Peppercorn

    Team: Not finding out!

Upcoming Appointments: Jan 27. Soooo far away!

How are you feeling?: So far, so good😊 Slight breast tenderness but nothing too major.

Rants/Raves: Its absolutely killing my husband and I to not tell our families! This is his first baby so his family will be over the moon!

Questions: Has anybody cloth diapered? We’re looking into it with this baby and we’re overwhelmed with all the information out there..

GTKY- Favorite show, movie, and/or book?
Another true crime lover here. I’ve watched basically all of the ones Netflix offers so suggestions on other streaming platforms are very much welcomed!
  •  knottie5634f0b731684bb9 100% recommend discovery+. It has all the ID shows and many specials for true crime. Also, consider changing your username so it’s easier for us to tag you and get to know you! There are directions in the Read This First Thread, and you might have to log out and log back in for it to take! As for cloth diapers, I’ve considered it for this baby but with this being baby #3- 6yo and under, I think for me it will just be extra work.
  • EDD / Weeks + Days: 8/8, 8w1d

Baby is the size of a(n): raspberry

    Team: green!

    Upcoming Appointments: Jan 10

How are you feeling?: I was sick last week and really worried that it was what this pregnancy was going to be, but fortunately it wasn't - just a bug I caught from my toddler. I'm back in the familiar first tri pattern of last time: super tired, lots of food aversions, just give me all the carbs. I gotta figure out how to eat vegetables and protein!

Rants/Raves: we had a bit of a whirlwind Christmas. It was supposed to be local here with my ILs followed by a quick trip to my parents in NJ, but Christmas Eve my nephew tested positive for COVID so everything was cancelled and we decided to spur of the moment pack up and drive to my parents that day. I'm really glad we did, I didn't want to spend Christmas alone after having been cooped up sick the week prior. We're back home now and I'm looking forward to relaxing a bit as we close out the year. We told my family while we were there, which was fun - they're very excited.

    Questions: none

GTKY- Favorite show, movie, and/or book? Lots - I'm not a big movie gal but I love TV comedies: parks & rec, 30 rock, the office, SNL, Brooklyn 99, schitts creek, anything Mindy kaling does. I also had some time to read recently and picked up harry potter for the 489426th time rather than touch my long and ever growing TBR list. I'm going to try audible this year.

  • @mehugg we have the same TV tastes! Obsessed with all of those and I've read/listened to HP like 1000 times too. Audible is great!
  • @starkette love it! Good choice of GTKY question. I should have also mentioned Gilmore girls! Are you a podcast fan at all? I've been loving office ladies. I had a funny and sad thought when I was postpartum with my son and deep in quarantine (2020 baby) that he'd know Jenna and Angela's voices before lots of family and friends 😬🥲 also like the newer Parks & recollection with Rob Lowe and Alan yang but they spend more time in the creative process than the details of the episode. Still interesting though!
  • @mehugg YES! I love Office Ladies podcast! I just got my sister The Office box set and trivia game for her birthday (it's a couple days after Christmas) and we are the only two people in our family who watch it. :D I keep wishing for a new show just like the holy trinity Office/Parks and Recs/Brooklynn 99...oooh and New Girl. And Mindy Project. Just watched Emily in Paris and it was fun and fluffy.
  • @buffythevampireslayer I feel similar about working out! But speed walking on the treadmill is probably fine. Maybe tone down the work out for a couple weeks until you feel more secure? Though they say most work outs are fine, they do advise against super heavy and excessive activity. I also love the movie Dune. So intense, so much like the book but amped way up.
  • EDD / Weeks + Days: 6w2d

Baby is the size of a(n): Pea

    Team: Haven’t decided yet!

Upcoming Appointments: second week in Jan

How are you feeling?: A bit nauseous but also getting over Covid and lost taste slightly, so it’s been weird. At night, all I want are shrimp fried egg rolls from Long Island.

Rants/Raves: I have time off from work this week. Although we’ve been quarantined, it’s nice to just rest and take it easy.

Questions: I’m interested in learning about what others have in mind for fitness. I had a chat with the trainer at my gym and he kind of freaked me out and I haven’t worked out since. Waiting to hear from doc.

GTKY- Favorite show, movie, and/or book? I can watch RPDR all day.
  • @buffythevampireslayer I’ve never heard of not being able to work out, but check with your RE about their protocol. Part of my RE’s protocol is that I’m not allowed to have ANY orga$m til week 8 bc they make your uterus contract. 😳
  • @daffodil_shoe 8 weeks! That is ROUGH!

@buffythevampireslayer I am having the same irrational fear of exercise, but for different reasons.

    TW - loss

I normally exercise daily, pretty high intensity most days. I had a loss in August, it was hot and I was doing my regular routine. The nurse at my new OB office, when I made my intake appointment, told me to avoid vigorous exercise, like running, hiking, etc, because of the loss. I don’t think this is an evidence-based recommendation, but I still haven’t laced up my running shoes since I got the positive test. I ran with both my previous full-term pregnancies, so I know it’s not rational, but I can’t quite get past it. I have been keeping everything low impact and low intensity. Mostly walking, some cycling, light weights when lifting, etc.

  • @maggiemadeit ugh honestly I don’t even have a high drive, but….it’s been a long time and it’s been difficult!
  • @daffodil_shoe I have gotten the same guidance which is part of what made me so nervous. An orgasm, really?! I think I’m just going to continue to play it really safe until I’m off progesterone, cleared from my RE, and can move on to my OB and ask some more specific questions then.

@maggiemadeit thank you for sharing and I’m sorry for your previous loss. There does seem to be a lot of mixed info re: exercise. I have a peloton and have been really missing it and plan to get back on once I pass my 8 week scan.

@starkette going for walks is currently the main thing I am doing. I’m hoping to bring it up a notch soon!
  • @paytonpedro thanks! I like the devotionals in the YouVersion Bible app too. Last night I was up doing squats to get rid of my RL. I think it's bad this week because I'm resting throughout the day so much with being sick. I'm a teacher so I'm not used to being still.
  • Oh damn, I just posted that I had an irrational fear of orgasms causing a MC. I’d didn’t know it was actually recommended to abstain! My dreams have been making it hard to avoid 🤣
And I’ve definitely been taking it easy working out. I do Peleton usually but all throughout my infertility journey this year i was told to keep my heart rate below 140 after ovulation. I’ve been keeping it even lower since my positive preg test.

  • @bearmomma1 I don’t think it’s generally recommended to abstain unless your pregnant via fertility treatments. And I think that’s just a precaution. If you have a normal healthy pregnancy there is no reason to abstain from sex or orgasm.
  • Yea, here to echo I’ve never heard that re not having sex and my OB is of the if you did xyz workouts before you got pregnant you are good to keep doing them!
  • @starkette have you watched The Good Place? I also love the other shows you mentioned, and The Good Place fits with those! I need to rewatch it because I know there are so many little jokes and details I missed the first time!
  • @jenkm1110 I loooove the Good Place. It's hard to find shows I haven't seen, to be honest. Except for one that have just started. I like to wait for multiple seasons before committing to a show. Too many get cancelled prematurely right when I get invested.
  • EDD / Weeks + Days: 8/6 / 8w5d

    Upcoming Appointments: 1/25

How are you feeling?: Nausea in waves, but really could be worse.

Rants/Raves: Told my parents, and they are so excited.  My mom said she thought I could be pregnant based on how I looked the last time I saw them... so I guess I look tired and bloated 🥴?

How are you feeling?: pretty good. Not as nauseous or tired as with my last pregnancy. But feeling anxious and feeling like time is moving slowly

Rants/Raves: my daughter has had this weird rash for the last few days on her face, torso and hands. Took her to dr and they thought either allergic reaction to something or a post-sickness rash from her cold/bronchitis she had at the beginning of the month. It’s finally looking better this morning and I’m so glad. It was hard to look at her.
