I really don't wanna be induced.. I want my water to break naturally.. would if be bad if I were to not show up and wait until I was 40 weeks... or would I get in trouble bc I didn't show up when I was told too.
I don’t think you’d get in trouble. But it would most likely be nice to know if you were a healthcare provider. Their job is trickier when their patient’s care is incomplete. Remember that They cannot make you do anything you don’t want to do. Be upfront, perhaps you all can come up with a plan that works better for you.
Do you know why they want to induce at 37 weeks? While 37 is full term, that’s still early for elective induction if there’s not an underlying health issue. You can want to break water naturally all you want, but remember that even though medical science has advanced a lot, childbirth is still inherently dangerous, and there’s a ton that can go wrong. Please don’t just skip the appointment. It sounds like you need better communication with your provider. Safe and healthy babies aren’t a guarantee, and maybe it would help if you understood why they want you to go early. They can’t force you to do anything you don’t want, but just not showing up is not a good solution.
