Unfortunately we don’t live close to an Ikea. I saw something on their site I loved a couple weeks ago, but they can’t deliver to us based on our distance from where it is in stock.
I just want to get something sturdy enough for her clothes that DS won’t be able to knock over or else she won’t tip over when she’s his age lol
@night_nurse I'm so sorry. That must have been so scary! Even Braxton Hicks get me a little panicked...I can't imagine full on contractions that close together! Did they give you any idea of what might have caused it? How are you feeling now? Hopefully they stay away and give baby girl some more time to relax in there ❤
@night_nurse I’m so sorry for your tough night. Give peanut a stern talking to, no early appearances for a good while. Hope that is your one and only scare and from here on out it’s smooth sailing.
Thanks everyone for the well wishes. It was just the strangest thing. My brain was doing everything it could to talk me out of thinking I needed to go in. After 4 hours of it I finally downloaded a contraction timer app just to make sure I wasn’t actually overthinking it. Glad I eventually listened and went in though.
Also DS just melts my heart😭 Not sure if it was a coincidence or if he really is starting to understand a little, but just now he kept patting my belly and peeking under my shirt at it. He said ‘peg-nat’ and when I asked if he loved the baby he patted my belly more, smiling.
Ended up back in L&D yesterday evening with worsening contractions that were actually verging in painful. OB immediately checked me and I was 2 cm, but still a very thick cervix which is reassuring. Despite a couple other medications the contractions continued and became much more painful. I was having tons of lower back pain with each one. Baby was staying pretty tachycardic so they started me on magnesium around 11pm I think. That stuff makes you feel awful at first but it eventually did the trick and the contractions slowed. As long as I am in bed I only have one occasionally every 7-10mins. Was able to sleep about 3 hours last night too.
DH had stayed at home with our son as we couldnt arrange childcare quickly so I am anxious for him to get here today. Overall feel a lot better physically. Emotionally a little frazzled by how quickly everything has happened and also still having little idea of what the rest of the plan is. L&D is so full. Im still in a triage room waiting for a room upstairs on high-risk to open up.
Anyway, thanks for letting me word-vom. Baby is looking really good. Seems unbothered by it all which is relieving.
@night_nurse Saw your PGAL post, so came here. I’m so sorry you’re dealing with this and I wish I could offer help in some way. Will be thinking of you and your family and praying your little one stays put.
@night_nurse glad the contractions have slowed; hopefully they come to a full stop soon. Are you on bedrest now or just taking it one day at a time? Thinking of you and baby!
@night_nurse STAY PUT, baby! I’m so sorry you are back in L&D. I hope everything stays calm and you’re surrounded by excellent folks supporting you and baby.
Thank everyone. It’s really been the weirdest experience. Something I never expected to happen yet had these very strange intuitions around for a while. Specifically concerning how intense and constant the BH contractions have been since 16 weeks. OB reassured me nothing to worry about since I had a normal term delivery with my first. And then lots of increased anxiety around having everything ready for baby before Christmas. Literally just deep cleaned and organized her closet and bought the last few necessity items on amazon 3 days ago. Sounds totally kooky but after having an experience like this i’ll never side-eye another.
Still on the magnesium drip to prevent contractions. Start contracting again when I get up to use the restroom. In bed I just have mild light ones every now and then. Will stay on mag until at least 11pm tonight when I’ll also get the 2nd just-in-case steroid shot for baby’s lungs. Doctor will round on me any minute to give me an idea of plan but he relayed to the nurse i’ll probably be here through the night. DH is on his way up here which means he can be my snack fetcher lol 🙌🏼
@night_nurse oh boy, how scary. Glad you're being taken care of, and hope you get up to a room soon. Sending you and baby good vibes for no excitement for a good long time.
@night_nurse Baby just doesn't want to miss her first Xmas! I responded on the PGAL thread but no matter what happens, if she stays put or comes early, you got this!!!! You're a strong mama and you'll be ready for her no matter when she decides to make her appearance!!! I completely believe in intuition (especially while pregnant) and 100% believe our subconscious knows everything that's going on in our bodies even if we don't. I'm glad your H will be able to be with you. I can't imagine the stress! I hope you're at least able to get a bit of rest at some point ❤
@night_nurse thinking of you! Hoping your baby relaxes and stays put for a long while!! I’m sorry you’re having to deal with the magnesium. It really is truly awful stuff. But can be SO helpful when needed.
@night_nurse praying for you and your little one! Glad your husband will be with you soon to support you. FX and positive thoughts all headed your way.
@night_nurse Oh no! I'm so sorry to hear you had to return to L&D again ! I am glad the contractions have managed to be slowed down with medication. Mommy instinct is definitely a real thing, but on the other hand, I hope your little stays put for awhile longer! I'm glad you husband will be able to be with you soon and be snack fetcher *hehe* Thats definitely helpful ☺ Positive thoughts continued to you and baby girl.
24 hours on magnesium did the trick! Did great coming off of it and honestly feel better than I have in 4 days. Going home to rest and maybe actually sleep! Thanks for all the kind words ❤️
@night_nurse I’ve been checking back regularly to see if there was an update, glad to hear you get to go home. Will continue to keep you in thoughts and prayers.
Hip pain has been kicking my butt this week at 24 weeks growing and glowing . And I noticed this baby girl is slowly spreading my nose clear across my face. Getting more excited to meet her though.
@gayu1107 Was it the Pfizer or Moderna? What side effects did you have with your 2nd shot? My parents just got their boosters and so far the only side effect has been some fatigue. I'm sure everything will be great ❤ I'm not eligible here yet, bit I'm hoping they drop the age limit soon so I can get my booster before baby gets here. I'd like to pass on some extra antibodies if possible...plus extra protection for my hospital stay during delivery 🤞🤞🤞
@Panaceia had chills and super tired with the second shot(pfizer)... it was like my body went to sleep for a few hours. With the pregnancy now even a common cold seems 10 times worse... so I am bracing myself😰

@night_nurse so glad things have calmed down and you were able to go home. That sounds so stressful!
