Here's my BF. If my MIL comments on my belly one more time I'm going to absolutely lose my shit. We've been here an hour and she's made at least 3 comments about how big its getting. 🤬🤬🤬
@morgantu I was complaining to MIL about how much weight I've gained already with this pregnancy. With my first 2 she always told me how great I looked so I was hoping she would at least try to make me feel better about it but nope. She just laughed and said she couldn't believe how much time I still had left:/ Gah. Would it have killed her to lie???
@morgantu oh that stuff makes me so completely crazy. My MIL does it too. This pregnancy she keeps demanding that I pull my clothes tight so she can get a good look at my bump. Last pregnancy she kept calling me “a rat” for not gaining enough weight, which wasn’t fun either, particularly because I was really worried about baby measuring small in that pregnancy. I just wish she would stop commenting on my body.
@morgantu ugh I hate that you’re having to hear that. I will never understand what it is about pregnancy that makes people think they have ANY right to talk about a woman’s body. I always want to say “Ok, yes K, my belly is bigger. I’m growing an entire human being from scratch. What’s your excuse?”
@morgantu and @Panaceia Aww, I’m sorry. I totally get it though. Early in first trimester I was showing my mom photos I was taking every two weeks to see when it became noticeable/ for the memories.
Her response was “Just don’t post them online because people will just think you look fat and bloated right now.” Then she tried to save face when I finally did post on Facebook for friends and family. I said pretty much “I know I’m fat, feel free to ignore.” And she was posting like “Aww who told you that you looked fat? You’re always beautiful!” Sure… lol
@Panaceia I know this is your first boy, did you gain weight with your girls too? I gained so much with my boys (60-73lbs each) and with the girl I’m hardly gaining. It’s insane to me. With the boys I was always hungry! I blame the testosterone Lolol
@MusicalFamily I’m already up a little over 20 lbs. I’ve been struggling and your comment made me feel so much better. Totally going to blame it on a boy pregnancy thing.
@MusicalFamily I gained nothing with my girls...like nothing. My total gain with both was 26 lbs and it was all gone by the time I got back from the hospital. I was back in a bikini immediately and all my clothes fit totally normally. This time I'm up 28lbs and I'm not even 24 weeks yet...and I'm sicker than with my first two...I don't get it:/ I'm definitely blaming it on this being a boy!!!!
@faithmovesmountains I'm sorry:/ That sounds like my mom too. We are literally growing an entire human inside our bodies!
I am trying to let go of my experience rations from my previous pregnancies in terms of weight gain etc and figure I'll just focus on getting rid if all the extra once baby is here. Honestly, I'm just so sick 24/7 that I'm constantly in survival mode. Even if I work out daily and eat well I'm still gaining stupid amounts of weight anyways...so I give up at this point.
I've been sitting in my OBs waiting room for almost an hour. There is one lady, I estimate her to be in her 60s, listening to Polka, at FULL volume on her phone... I mean...come on buddy.... Isn't there a pretty standard unspoken rule about silencing your phone in a public place? 🤔
