Edit because i hit the button on accident. Super random but I’m sitting here thinking (which is dangerous)… what kind of shoes do you wear in fall? I have booties and sneakers, but I don’t like wearing sneakers. I also have sperrys and a variety of other boots, but like what do you slide on to run out? Can someone give me inspiration? I also have flats, but I just wear them to work.

@paytonpedro Following for more ideas, but I tend to stick with slip-on Sketchers or some Sperry-like Keds I have.

@paytonpedro For work/going out I like casual flat (or with a tiny heel), preferably rubber-soled booties with zippers for fall.

I have massive amounts of Toms for "slip on and run out", but full disclosure they offer 0 arch support, so I'm actually trying for find something else since I need arch support.

@paytonpedro @acleverusername. Have you guys tried the allbirds slip-ons? They have merino ones and more sneaker-looking ones. I love them, in part because they are both quite warm and I always have cold feet. Also you can wear them without socks and put them in the wash. 

Also vionic is famous for their arch support. Maybe something like this?

@paytonpedro skechers has a lot of cute slip on shoes considered "fashion sneakers" that look like flats, but have a bit more support than regular flats.

@fantasyflyte I’m not a giant fan of sketchers in general but my sister did tell me to buy a pair of their flats that are really cute!

update from my plea for help with using words to direct my hair stylist... my hair turned out great! i followed @Paturkey's advice and started out with my list of things the hair style is gonna have to live up to/through: no hair dryer, no interest in styling, regular, sweaty trips under a bike helmet, etc., and then, like the grown, modern, woman with a phone who i aspire to be (and as you all so rightly suggested), i showed her photos of hair cuts I like. We decided that i had two basic hairstyles represented in my collection of images: 1) a wavy, messy bob just below the jawline, and 2) a kinda post-punky girl mullet thing (which i know has gone in and out of fashion several times in recent years but i can't help it i just love it). when i begged her for direction, she told me the mullet is, despite appearances, a relatively high-maintenance haircut, especially for people like me whose hair gets curly when short. so bob it was. but she somehow managed to give me a messy, wavy bob that is just the right degree of boyish and subtly gestures at my punky mullet dreams without actually going all the way there. i'm delighted, and i'm also planning to go back to this woman forever and ever or until she stops working in the area. thanks so much @paturkey @inthewoods23 @paytonpedro @bows22 @pinkkillersheep

Harkening back to the back pain and body pillows discussion a few weeks ago, I finally caved and got a body pillow. It's technically a pregnancy pillow, so TW if anyone follows the link in the spoiler, but it was great. My back didn't hurt this morning! This one is neat because it's L shaped with a detachable piece that can either make it a U shaped pillow, or detach and put between your legs to keep your spine neutral if you're a side sleeper like me. I've only done one night with it so far, but so far so good.

@pinkkillersheep i hear you! Mostly though I just despair at questions of basic literacy. Like, how many places do we have to say "NO PREGNANCY TEST PICS" before people get the message? If we had a click-through requirement where people signed a contract agreeing not to post their test pictures, they'd still probably post them and then get all defensive when we called them out for it. I've been increasingly sensitive about pregnancy test pics in recent months myself since my failed retrieval, and I'm sure that being in the TWW (as I believe you are?) can make a gal a little extra tetchy about being obliged to look at someone else's test, also. anyway, peggy toddled on over to 1st tri and posted a one-off instead of using the pinned thread specifically for these things. sigh.
