Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: April 15/ 11w3d (likely RCS at 39 weeks)
FTM/STM/TTM+: TTM
Upcoming Appointments: October 5th NT scan and ob appt
How are you feeling?: mentally I feel in a good place. Our NIPT results came back negative/low risk, so it is a relief. Physically, still exhausted, aversion and nausea come and go, but it was pretty bad this last week. I am hoping they go away soon so that l can eat normal and really satisfy my hunger.
Rants/Raves: we are so excited to have a little boy after 2 little girls! We told our immediate family and a few close friends. Will wait to tell my boss after NT scan when I reach 13 weeks. I still work from home so there is no rush to advertise.
Questions: natm

Upcoming Appointments: 12 week appointment this Friday, October 1
How are you feeling?: Starting to feel more excited as we share with family and friends. I think my energy is also starting to come back, but then again I'm also eating everything in sight. It all still feels a little surreal for me.
Rants/Raves: My boobs, they've already grown a whole cup size and I'm starting to get back pain at the end of the day. I'm also really annoyed that our house projects have been stalled for several weeks now - I am ready to officially move in and get settled, especially now that I have a nursery to start working on.
Questions: These aren't really geared to the group, but I have several very specific questions for my APRN this next appointment, including some due to a social media challenge a board wants each of the board members to participate in. Does MIL pregnancy's have any relevance to mine, i.e. all her babies were born before the due date? Can I participate in a dunk tank in November in the midwest? What about eating a hot pepper or cricket? (I get nauseas just thinking about that last question.)
Upcoming Appointments: Probably early Oct, need to schedule with new insurance
How are you feeling?: Miserable. I’ve had a bad headache for the last two days, and I woke up with a swollen eyelid. Plus the usual fatigue and nausea. Readyyyy for the second trimester!
Rants/Raves: I gave in and ordered a Sneak Peek. I’m so excited to find out, hopefully by this weekend!!
How are you feeling?: Really terrible. Nauseous, hungry and kind of dehydrated, even though I'm drinking a ton of water, exhausted. I just wish there was an easy fix to feel a little closer to normal. I'm looking forward to my weekend, which is Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday to try to sleep and focus on taking care of my body.
Rants/Raves: My workplace is somewhere where women try to hide their pregnancies for as long as possible and don't tell anyone until the last minute. I was lucky enough to find someone who was just about to leave on maternity leave (She was 40+2 and most of us had no idea she was pregnant) to give me some direction on who to contact in HR, uniform adjustments, how to be most comfortable, and how to hide it. It relieved a lot of my work related anxieties, so that was nice.
Questions: How is it my pants are so uncomfortable and tight on my stomach but I wake up sleeping on my stomach most mornings and it is fine?
I’ll miss chatting with everyone in one thread, but I’ll definitely still be lurking through all the others!
Est Due Date / Weeks + Days: April 9 / 12 weeks + 2 days
FTM/STM/TTM+: FTM
Upcoming Appointments: Next week Thursday, to listen to the baby’s heartbeat on the Doppler and just check in. I’m very anxious to hear it after all the traveling we did and because once we hear it again, we’ll feel comfortable enough to tell work and “announce” to everyone outside immediate family and close friends!
How are you feeling?: Belly is so crampy. So sore. So achy. Pain that moved around the whole abdomen. I was actually so concerned about the bouts of pain that I reached out to my OB, but she responded and told me it sounds like normal pregnancy pains! So I guess it’s just my stomach expanding and pushing on the organs to make room! Belly is definitely growing more! 😬 I also totally thought my nausea phase was over… until I ate the chicken I picked in my lunch today. 🤢 Literally almost threw up, so glad I didn’t! I guess I’m not totally out of the woods yet!
Rants/Raves: I just want to hold my baby boy!!!! I know he has 6 months to cook still, but man, do I really have to wait that long? I’m just so ready to have him on the outside. 😊
Questions: Has anyone used “The Short Years” for their baby book? Do you like it? My mom wants to purchase it for us so we can start filling in the pregnancy portion on the app now so I just wanted to know if anyone here has tried it out first hand!
@dinomeetsjedi, yeah, at this stage is mostly bloat which peaks in the evening. I wake up and the belly is gone, it freaks me out too. Bump will pop soon and it will be harder to sleep in certain positions.

Will miss the big check-in as well but excited for smaller groups to get to know each other!
@queenklau so good about NIPT and that it's a boy!!! Hope you start feeling better this week. I'm in a place where I'm not nauseous but nothing really sounds yummy to eat.
@legallullabies with you on feeling so surreal, especially since we have told so few people. Agree with @Avrilmai that you can totally blame getting out of some of that on the pregnancy!
@monstera13 ugh, hope your headache goes away soon. They really are rough. Do you usually get headaches/migraines?
@dinomeetsjedi so good that you were able to get all of that information! Hope you get some rest this weekend. Why do women tend to hide their pregnancies at your workplace (if it's something you can share!)?
@minnie_yoga_mama with you on the crampy belly. Interested to hear others' thoughts on the baby book since it's something we haven't really thought of yet!

Upcoming Appointments: next week, hopefully we'll be able to hear the baby's heartbeat & do NIPT
How are you feeling?: Feeling good! Unfortunately I have been dealing with some migraines (which I've always dealt with). Ibuprofen works wonders for me but of course that's off the table now. I've had to take Tylenol a couple of times in the last couple of weeks when my vision was affected. Going to talk to the OB about it next week. Also super crampy this week - seems like lots of expanding going on in there!
Rants/Raves: Our really good friends got married this past weekend and it was really such a wonderful weekend. We had the best time, the wedding was gorgeous, weather was perfect, and just so happy for them. It was also so good to be able to see friends we hadn't seen since pre-pandemic! I was so thankful they required vaccination or negative test, it really made me feel so much more comfortable. I'm still on the fence about the wedding this weekend. I'll probably end up making a decision the night before...
Questions: What have you used or are thinking of using for your baby registry website if you're doing one? I'm not *quite* ready to start it, but I have been thinking about it.
@fameonmain2 We registered with Amazon because it gives a 15% discount for prime members for any items still on your registry 60 days prior to the arrival date! So I told my family members if they want to get us some of the larger more expensive items to wait until after that date to get a good amount discounted! We also figured most people are so familiar with Amazon it’ll be the easiest place to have all our items (you can even include items from other websites on the registry). So far we like it!
@fameonmain2, I agree Amazon is good. I did Target and babylist for my first pregnancy. The completion discount is awesome for Amazon and Target, if it’s still the same as it was before.

How are you feeling?: Nausea and fatigue is better but have been dealing with a terrible headache for 2 days. Midwives have told me to take Tylenol to help and try going to a chiro. Feeling anxious about baby, I want to know that things are still happening!
Rants/Raves: When one symptom improves another pops up uhg!
Questions: Anyone have no belly in the morning but a clear belly in the evening? I swear I don't look pregnant in the morning but I do before bed.
@monstera13 & @minnie_yoga_mama anything help with the headaches other than Tylenol (which I take when needed)? It hurts to hold my head up! Hope you both feel better soon!
@covegirl100, yup totally! This is my third pregnancy and I wake up almost normal looking but by the afternoon I look pregnant again. It’s mostly bloat but I don’t really fit into my jeans. I am now wearing pregnancy pants all day everyday!

@fameonmain2 I work in a prison. My reasons are: It's a male dominated field and so with some of the men it seems like they feel the need to protect female staff, especially pregnant females, at the same time they complain because they feel like we're useless. Because they try to make us useless. If you want a safer position, it's going to be a boring position and the lazy people will complain you're taking their jobs. If I need to, I would do that, but I don't want to get moved just because someone thinks it would be better for me. If other staff know, it will eventually leak to the inmates and that has the potential to make you a target (although I think it's a pretty low risk, I would rather they not know and try to, even benignly, break boundaries). If you go on maternity leave and nobody knows except HR (there's like a thousand different positions, literally, so you can move to a different position or something and people you were working with wouldn't necessarily know) it hopefully won't affect people's perceptions about your work and not affect promotions and stuff. The girl I was talking to said one of the guys she worked more closely with routinely complained that her pee breaks took the relief staff away from him and he wasn't able to have smoke breaks as frequently as he wanted them and it wasn't fair he couldn't do what he wanted just because she chose to have sex. Those were his actual words. Working with men is sometimes the worst. Hopefully that all makes sense. Mostly my reasons are pretty vague to me, I just don't want people knowing and bothering me about it and expecting it to affect my work and giving them more reasons to complain.
@dinomeetsjedi that absolutely makes sense. I come from a female-dominated profession (K-12 teaching) so hiding a pregnancy is something that I've never really had to consider (naively). Honestly everything you wrote is so eye-opening to me. There are so many nuances you have to deal with and I'm even happier for you now that you found someone who went through it and was able to give you some guidance. It's nice that people won't even know that you go on maternity leave considering everything you just wrote. I'm sorry you have to deal with comments like that. I don't think your reasons are vague at all! I understand not wanting anyone to bother you or have expectations about you.
