1st Trimester

Cramping and no symptoms

Hey everyone! Of course it’s the weekend. I’ve been having on/off cramping. Nothing major but it is worrisome as last pregnancy I had a missed miscarriage where stopped growing at 5 weeks (found out at 8), and I had nausea even weeks after (never knew anything was wrong) before my hcg went back down to zero. Due to that, my doctor put me on 200mg per day of endometrin suppositories that I’ve been taking for one week now, currently five weeks. Anyone take these? I thought I would have more symptoms, and had nausea on/off last week, but nothing for the past two days aside from cramping on and off. Going to call doc Monday morning but wanted to see if anyone has gone through something similar! I really thought being on extra progesterone especially I would have more symptoms which is worrying. I do have one healthy son that was without complications and he is now two. But since the miscarriage I just have a bad feeling now of not having any symptoms to show for the pregnancy. When I first found out at barely 4 weeks my hcg was 102 and over 2 and a half days went to 463 so doc didn’t seem concerned but I know how quickly things can change.

Re: Cramping and no symptoms

  • Sorry what you are going through, but symptoms mean nothing.  A missed period is a symptom.  I've heard that the suppositories can cause cramping.  If you are not bleeding you should be ok.  If worried, you can always call the on-call doctor for reassurance.

  • It’s hard to have faith that things are going ok after a loss. Appropriately rising betas are a good sign. Cramping (assuming it is not severe) is totally normal and is an early pregnancy symptom. Lack of nausea does not = bad news. Good luck!
