How often do you weigh yourself?

This is my third week back at the gym..I really need to lose this wonderful 20 pounds of baby weight. Now, I think my stomach is a bit smaller and my rings fit again (finally) but the scale is barely moving. Ugh..I know sometimes it can take awhile but do you think I'm bound to be disappointed if I keep weighing myself every week? I'm thinking about doing a once a month weigh-in instead. Besides that, I'm really enjoying being back at the gym and finally feel like I'm taking control of my baby weight.

  • I weighed myself every day after DS was born.  I know it's crazy, but that way I got used to seeing normal fluctuations in my weight and I didn't freak out if one day I was up 2 lbs from the day or week before.  I also graphed my weight so I could see the general downward trend despite the daily ups and downs.  I know it's not for everyone, but it worked for me.

Me too.  I weigh myself everyday and write it down.  I know it's crazy, but I am a little over the top with my weight. I've always been a healthy weight and have never had any problems.

  • Thanks ladies. The first week and a half I did the eliptical and now I've moved on to the treadmill to run and walk in five minute intervals. I haven't been devoting time to abs but I know I need to do that. Today marks the beginning of my 4th week back. I've only been getting there 3 times a week and want to move it up to 4 this week. I do feel like my clothes are fitting better, so weight shouldn't be my only measure of success. I just wish I saw the scale budge. I think I may take a break from weighing myself for a while...it's kind of driving me crazy.

  • I try and weigh everyday but I have 30-40 lbs to lose leftover from DD who next month will be turning 2. Yikes! I'm currently 5'4 and 180 lbs. Not good. I started back at the gym 2 weeks ago walking 2.5 miles almost every day. I'm sure it will come off eventually. You (and me) just have to be patient. GL!
  • I weigh myself daily because that's just me.  When I didn't weigh myself for a couple of weeks recently it got ugly.  The scale was not kind to me yesterday.
