I’m 40 yrs old. I would love to have another child!!! I was diagnosed with PCOS at age 18, and put on birth control pill and metformin XR. At the age of 22 I found out that I was pregnant and had my first child at 23. I ended up having my second child at 24 and my third child at 25. Once I had my first child it seem so easy to get pregnant!!! My marriage didn’t last and we divorced and I ended up getting remarried and I had a little boy with my now husband who is three years old. I would love to give him a sibling and I am now 40 years old and feel like I’m having more trouble getting pregnant this time around than I did before! 😢
my last period was August 3 and I ended up having some spotting only when I wiped between the days of August 24 through August 27. I didn’t end up getting an actual. And since then my breast especially my nipples have been very sore and tender I’ve been experiencing a lot of headaches and tiredness. I took two pregnancy tests and both come back negative. I am due for another period around September 20th. I am currently taking my Metformin XR along with a prenatal vitamin and mega root.
I am just so frustrated and wondered if anybody has any advice on getting pregnant in your 40s and just giving me any tips to succeed! ❤️
I would suggest reading The Ultimate TTGP Guide in the thread pinned at the top. It literally says “new members read this first.” It’s a really good way to get a sense of how the group works and best ways to enter the community. Also important to read The Bump Guidelines, pinned at the top too.
After that, it’s generally nice to introduce yourself in the new members post each week. Or either the WTO or TWW threads. Post about yourself, the info about your cycle and that’s the perfect place to post your questions.
I’m new here, this is only my second month ttc, and the ladies here are amazing. There is an incredible community of support and laughter. But just like in a face to face situation, I wouldn’t barge into a gathering shouting out my issues without first getting a sense of the room and the group and listening to how things flow amongst everyone already there.
As for advice, if you read the ultimate guide to TTGP has A LOT of information to help you and resources. I’d check that out. Besides that, I’d make an appointment with a doctor rather than ask a bunch of strangers whom I know nothing about. 🤷🏻♀️

Also @knottieaff290b63ce17c90 if you want to stick around here, I definitely suggest changing your username (I think you have to do this on The Knot) so that people can tag you and recognize you easier.
I’m feeling a little less charitable than @fantasyflyte so here goes:
@knottieaff290b63ce17c90 ALL of us here are trying to get pregnant, many with our first child, and many have been trying for years. Yes, years, without any luck. And here you waltz in asking for help getting pregnant with your 4th, at the ripe age of 40, comparing that you’re finding it more difficult this time around than when you were younger. Well, I’ve got news for you: by this age, only about 30% of your eggs are genetically normal. So of course it’ll be more difficult to get pregnant. Plus, I don’t know how old your hubs is, but a man’s fertility ALSO starts to decline in his late 30s.
So yeah, it’s gonna take some time. You’re got a history of successful conceptions and term deliveries in your side, so just give it some time. But yeah, like, I don’t really appreciate you waltzing in with your one-off post complaining like that. #SorryNotSorry. #WhereMyBitterHagsAt?
@acleverusername amen! Like Jesus can I just have ONE kid after spending tens of thousands of dollars with nothing to show for it?
And she's asking for help getting pregnant with a 5th, not a 4th 😐

Wow!!! This is definitely not considered a support group!!!! All I’m getting is people attacking me!! I have been apart of the support group for months now and I’ve posted before introducing myself but I’ve had no luck on having anybody respond! I thought I’d give it another go but not only am I not getting support, I’m getting people attacking me!!
I understand that there are women out there that are struggling to get pregnant. I was told at the age of 18 that I would never be able to have kids and if I wanted to family someday, I’d have to adopt. i’m not walking in here trying to be a goody two shoe and after four kids feel sorry for myself because I can’t get pregnant! I am very thankful that I do have four healthy kids but I’m also in a place in my life where I have a three-year-old and I would like to give him a sibling!!! if you want to chew me out for that, go right on ahead!!! it shows your true colors!!! I always go off of the saying,”you treat others how you would like to be treated”. I will delete my account and I will not be back!!!
this is definitely not a support group!! good luck to all and just know that karma is out there… when you go around and you treat people like crap, it’ll come back and bite you in the butt!
Been apart of the support group for months now? The only thing you've done is post one off posts which you've been told numerous times is not how we operate on this board. You've never posted an intro! And your last post was from mid-February!
This is 100% the most supportive group around, but you're not going to get a warm welcome barging in to a group of random people complaining to people from all walks of TTC life about how you are taking so long getting pregnant with a 5th child. And news flash - your youngest DOES have siblings!!

knottieaff290b63ce17c90: have you ever been part of a support group? Cause your behavior demonstrates that NO, and that you have no desire to know what it's like to be part of one.
Imagine for a second that you had signed up to be part of an in-person support group. Would you barge in on the first day, not listen to anyone, and proceed to tell about how you're having ALL THESE PROBLEMS? I mean, maybe that's how to live you life... rules don't apply to you, only to other people. If that's working out for you, then good for you, and good luck with that.
But this community HAS rules, which... believe it or not... 20-30 CURRENT members, and THOUSANDS of previous members read through, and abided by, during their time here. Obviously, you feel like you deserve special treatment.
Maybe you're royalty? If you are, my apologies... we didn't get a memo from your staff that we should treat you differently.
Anyways, I'm gonna stop here even though I really want to keep going. Please do us all a favor and...
