  • @chgilmore that’s so awesome! Congrats!

  • @chgilmore Congrats! Are you ready?
  • @chgilmore Congrats!! Super exciting :)

  • @JWatt5 Aww, what a brave lil guy (and momma)!
  • @chgilmore Congratulations! That is so exciting!

@JWatt5 DS1 got his 4 year shots a couple weeks ago, too. It took 2 nurses to hold him down so the other could vaccinate him, so not our bravest moment. I still took him out for the donut I attempted to bribe him with prior to the arrival of the shots. Flu shots should be fun this year. I usually take him with me, and this year I’ll have both boys with me. We all get them at the same time.
  • @makingbacon - Parks just sits there and takes two needles with just a whimper but you think we can get his hair cut? Haha. He’s currently got a partial cut cause we gave up. I had to hold him down to get around his ears done. Wasn't having it lol

  • @JWatt5 We’re lucky because both boys get their haircut like champs. The only stipulation DS1 has is no electric clippers, but he lets her cut with the scissors without any problems. DS2 wiggles a lot, but that’s because he wants to watch the scissors cut his hair lol.
  • @Eveinshock I’m so glad that everything turned out with baby. I’m sure that was so stressful!! I have considered buying a Doppler a time or two, but everyone says they cause so much stress like situations like this! Because babies can be hard to find, sitting to low in your uterus, or behind the placenta, or you find your own beat or whatever. I think we’re also still too early to be feeling baby consistently at all. And even later on they’ll get their own patterns of movement and stuff. Try not to stress, but I’m so glad everything is okay!
  • @Eveinshock Glad things turned out to be well with baby. I had a doppler with my first, I was obsessed since I had previous losses but I feel like it did add to the stress unnecessarily when it was early on. Movements will become more consistent soon, few more weeks of patience, we can do it.

@JWatt5 I'm worried about DD1's appointment coming up next week. I think she'll get her flu shot and potentially another vaccine (she's 5). On top of that she has a wart on the crease of her thumb that is starting to get in the way so that will need to be burned off as well. I hope she isn't too traumatized, she normally loves getting her check up. She was crazy about Doc McStuffins.

  • @Eveinshock I'm so glad everything is good with baby! I almost got a doppler too but when I realized that my doctor even struggled to find him (last month) that I would probably struggle more. No thanks! But I hear ya, I already start getting worried if I haven't felt him in a little while-- which is crazy--he's only 6 oz so I'm sure a lot of movement goes unnoticed!
  • Is anyone using any belly creams/ oils yet? I know stretch marks are genetic, but I’d like to start using some, by belly has been itchy!
  • @Eveinshock glad baby is okay and you can destress a bit :)
@photographerwife I've been using the palmer's cocoa butter with the collagen/vitamin e in it since before I even found out I was PG. I use it as an all-over moisturizer (my skin is typically dry anyway). I alternate with the mama bee (burt's bees) belly butter and oil.
  • @Eveinshock - glad all is ok! That would be a scare. My Doppler has been my sanity for the last few weeks - last pregnancy my OB said if I’m going to have one she’s going to show me how to use it.

  • @photographerwife I’ve just been using my regular Bath and Body Works lotion, but will switch to cocoa butter once I get bigger.
  • @photographerwife I use the same as @chgilmore. I know I'll get stretch marks because I had them before conceiving but I figure anything I can do to help them be less crazy... I'll try!

Anyone else have moments where they can't stand their spouse? I am on some cranky-train the last couple of days and EVERYTHING he does irritates me. I feel bad because I'm not normally like that... but can he just leave for like 5 days? We both work from home so that probably adds to the frustration at times (though I do love our situation and am grateful for it).
  • @lexilougolden YUP! sometimes I just want him around all the time and snuggle and do stuff together, and some times all he has to do is enter the room "wrong" and now I hate him and wish he travelled for work or something. it makes no sense but apparently it's normal?
  • @lexilougolden Do you have separate offices? When both of our offices closed for Covid, DH and I worked in the same space, and it was not good. Like I made him eat his bananas outside because I was over the way he chewed bad.

I have not had luck keeping track of what day it is this week. I did make him home eat earlier than expected from my work trip though, so I was able to see both boys and read to DS1 before their bed times. I have 1 more week of traveling before being home for a week, and I’m so ready for it.

@photographerwife Yes, I ordered the Honest Co. line for mom’s. I’ve been using them for 3 weeks. I have the belly oil, belly butter, lotion, and belly jelly. I have not used the jelly but it’s for itchy skin so that may help you.
  • @lexilougolden YESSSS! I think Nick and I have to get used to being together daily again now. This week has been painful and every little thing is driving me crazy. I ran my son to Walmart one night just to get away from him for a little while to cool down! 😂
  • thanks ladies! I ended up grabbing some bio oil for now, but I may grab a lotion too the next time I go somewhere that sells that stuff! I didn’t get stretch marks with my son until pretty late in my pregnancy, so I just want to be proactive to they don’t get bad.
  • Thanks ladies for making me feel less crazy :p

@chgilmore Exactly! MH used to travel quite often for work, so I at least know that's not what I want. But I need a breather! Luckily my mood is calmed down today.
@makingbacon we do have separate offices, thankfully. I totally get it with the chewing, lol!
@modoodles Yes! I do grocery store runs when we don't need anything--just to get away!
  • @angelz429 Thinking about you! I hate how time slows down in those hard moments.
  • @angelz429 I’ll be thinking of you! 🤞🤞 for good news

@photographerwife on the belly cream/oil topic, I use earthmama belly butter. Used it with my other 2 pregnancies as well, started right away. I know it's a lot of genetics but I do not have any stretch marks and I attribute at least a small part of it to keeping the belly skin hydrated.

ETA thank goodness for a long weekend. DH is off work and so am I for the first time in awhile. And we have NO plans!!! Except building the bunk beds lol
