Re: Symptoms - August

  • I thought I might have more perspective going through this a second time, but I'm already panicking about this nausea hanging around for months.

  • Feeling nauseous is the worst. However I remember wishing I had more morning sickness with my first bc I wanted to “feel pregnant”. In the beginning I wished for more symptoms. Which is kind of how I feel now! I have a good friend who experiences nausea and vomiting all through her pregnancies up until birth and when I told her that, she thought I was absolutely nuts lol. It’s definitely a double edged sword.

I do feel sorry for anyone dealing with that 🤢

  • @kater622 I totally get that and if I wasn't nauseous, I would be hoping for a little bit of nausea. I know I'm a ball of contradictions...
  • No nausea over here and I am not wishing it on myself at all! I get plenty of motion sickness outside of pregnancy, I don't need to add any nausea to my life. I did freak out with my first that I had a blighted ovum or something because I had so few symptoms, but ultimately the freak out won't change anything so I'm letting that isht go this time. Plus, I am basically anticipating being incapacitated third trimester again so I'm trying to just enjoy being able to be a mobile, normal person while I can.

I got the go-ahead from my OB to use Valium as needed for anxiety attacks. I can't take SSRIs/SNRIs/any antidepressants because of some genetic mutations resulting in a lack of enzymes to break down the meds, so I was worried I'd just need to tough them out, but she said sporadic use is totally fine. Thank the LAWD! I had an anxiety attack at night a week ago and didn't take anything because I didn't think I could - misery. Very relieved to have an approved plan moving forward.
  • Nauseated as fudge over here. And I’m with a whole bunch of friends I haven’t told for the week soooo they will probably find out real soon.
  • No nausea here yet! 🤞 I’ve had cramps, bloating, headaches, anxiety, some nasal congestion, and fatigue. What’s been weird and different for me is I feel very anxious and nervous about baby being healthy. I had a corticosteroid injection in my foot 6 weeks before DOC and once I became pregnant, I kind of worked myself up and fell down the Google rabbithole finding studies that showed chromosomal abnormalities to lymphocyte cells when exposed to the same type of steroid I got—betamethasone! Now I just can’t seem to get that horrible pit feeling out of my stomach that it affected my egg health or caused an issue with the baby’s chromosomes. 😓 It’s so weird for me because I’ve really never had anxiety like this before, but I imagine my hormones def play a role! Needless to say, 10 weeks can’t come soon enough so I can have my ultrasounds and NIPT blood test done to let me know everything’s okay with baby.❤️
  • I've been feeling tiny waves of nausea at night, which I never really had with my first.  And lots of the stretchy pain around my uterus if I roll over too fast in bed or stand up the wrong way from sitting. As I said in my intro, I feel like it's too early for that, but alas here we are.  My boobs feel big and my pants feel tight.  Trying to drink lots of water and not go too crazy with junk food.  Lots of emotions too.  I seem to have come down off the irritable stage and onto just something making me cry really easily.

  • 5w5d here and soooo exhausted! Also having an issue with my migraines flaring up bad lately. Very sore breasts too & just today feeling the slightest bit of nausea.
  • Like @kiwi2628 said, I’m nauseated as fudge. Last 2 days it hit me like freight train. Not able to work, not able to think straight, not able to stand without immediately breaking into a cold sweat, and it lasts all day long. It’s worse than my first pregnancy. My new OB is able to fit me in next week.
  • Is anyone around 5.5 weeks and not feeling anything? My tests are all still dark but I don’t think I’ve been having symptoms! Wondering if this is normal

  • @winterviolethope I'm 5-4 today and I'm not having a lot of symptoms, or rather, the few things I am experiencing could probably be attributed to other things. It can really mess with your head.

As for me, like I said above not a lot. I'm really, really tired, but I think it's the progesterone injections. I've also been pretty hungry, but I'm not sure that its a symptom, probably more likely that it is from a lack of planning for breakfast and lunch...

  • Did I just never allow myself to get hungry last pregnancy because I lived in Manhattan and could order whatever food I wanted whenever I wanted? It is deeply unpleasant to get hungry this time around. And I feel like I'm constantly hungry.
  • I’m on progesterone too and SO TIRED. 😭 I hope my body adjusts or something because idk how much longer I can function like this. Not to mention my brain is complete mush. I feel like I’m staring at a computer screen that won’t load when I’m trying to put my thoughts together. It’s awful.

Then there’s the low-lying nausea. It gets better when I eat but I can’t eat constantly for nine months! Trying peppermint tea and ginger. Verdict is still out on whether they help. 🤷‍♀️

@winterviolethope I'm 6wks today and I dnt think I'm having much symptoms or at least I cant tease out what's pregnancy symptoms vs the medications that im on. Fatigue has been there from the jump. But no, nausea, sore breasts, heartburn. Just fatigue mainly. Praying everything is still on track. My US is on Friday.
Has anything developed for you over the past few days?
  • How normal are cramps? I feel like that’s the only symptom I’ve felt at 5 weeks.
  • @fieldofflowers21 welcome! Cramping can be normal around 5-6 wks just be cautious of any abdominal/pelvic pain thats more than mild cramping. Best wishes!
  • @crazysexycool1995 I woke up in the middle of the night very nauseous and am still queasy right now so hopefully it’s a good sign. I just stopped breastfeeding my 2 year old so I’m assuming my boobs aren’t sore because they are already primed for milk lol. I’m tired but I also went back to work last week after a summer off and I have a horrible cold I caught from my toddler... so hard to say the cause. Getting up now to have some saltines!

  • So, I definitely had zero nausea/morning sickness with DD. But this time.... maybe? I get motion sickness really easily, so I kind of in my mind expected everyone feeling morning sickness to be feeling motion sick? And I don't feel like that. I feel....... almost dizzy? More like light headed and faint than what I'd typically interpret as nausea? Like I definitely do not feel anywhere close to throwing up. It basically makes me want to lay down, but maybe if it's actually morning sickness I should be eating or something.
  • Morning sickness has officially kicked in over here. I had middle of the night nausea again but then I needed to actually get sick at around 7 when I got up with my boys. They looked confused then started laughing, ha. I guess 6 weeks is the magic week... wasn't fun this morning, but I was relieved to finally feel pregnant

  • Well I hit week 5 today. The only symptoms so far are sore boobs, feeling extra tired, and peeing more. But I checked out my pregnancy journal from last time, and it looks like my morning sickness was present from weeks 6 to 15. Fingers crossed that symptom takes its time 😂
  • Super early (4+3 here)... I have been feeing queazy (not quite nauseous yet), weird taste in my mouth, and frequent peeing.

Still no sore boobs (weaned my 1 year old 2 months ago), not more fatigued than normal (but it's all relative, I guess).

  • Wow! I feel heard reading these comments. I’ve felt nothing so far and was almost nervous something was wrong because I haven’t had any morning sickness but holy crap it’s here now! 6w +1. I’ve felt nauseous for a few hours now. Can’t believe it just shows up out of no where.

I just craved a big juicy hamburger! It was delicious!

ETA: I don’t know if I was craving it or if everything else just sounded gross!
  • All my lip balms suddenly smell rancid.... wtf? This pregnancy is definitely different than last time.
  • My headaches are AWFUL right now
  • I am SO gassy and bloated… I can eat about 3 bites of a meal before I feel full. Thankful I bought a flowy, loose dress for the wedding we’re headed to today!
  • I just have the worst gas/indigestion. I don’t remember thurs from my first two pregnancies, but it’s been two years. Sometimes it feels like the pain is more localized to one spot. Is this common for gas pain or should I call my dr?

Also, I’m two days past my missed period but my pregnancy test is still light. Should I be concerned?
  • @ahamilton88 is it an early response test? The "regular" ones took more time for me to get darker
  • @ahamilton88 it could be as simple as you ovulated later than expected
  • I think I just had my first instance of pregnancy brain. I completely forgot I took my keys and left them in my husbands vehicle on Saturday. After 30 minutes of searching the house for them, I remembered what I did... and now I'm working from home today. 😂🙃
  • @ahamilton88 I got a positive 5 days ago, I’ve only just missed my period today, and mine are pretty faint too. Hope you get a darker line in a few days!

  • 5w5d. For about the last week I've had sore boobs, terrible gas/ bloating, mild cramping, and now I'm starting to have zits pop up on my face. Last pregnancy the only symptom I had was food cravings so this one is definitely different. Hopefully I'll get lucky and have no nausea this time around too. Sorry for all you sick mamas.
  • Morning Sickness is really starting to kick my butt. I never had to deal with this with my son. I only got nauseous with him at the end of the day so I would just go to bed (easy fix!). But now I'm waking up nauseous and I don't know how to deal with it. Highly considering telling my boss today so that I can tell him I'll be WFH for the next few weeks while I feel like garbage.
  • I've woken up with a rash today that seems to be covering a good chunk of my body. I sent a message to my dr. Curious if anyone else has had this happen? It looks very similar to the rash my son would get after a fever so I wonder if its a heat rash from being in Hawaii all last week? That seems a little delayed though.
  • @Blondesweety444 I don't know about the rash, but I've heard waking up with nausea in pregnancy can be from low blood sugar overnight, so maybe try keeping snacks by your bed, eating motn if you wake up at all, eating a snack before you go to sleep? Not sure, bu maybe it can at least help you google some more solutions for yourself.
  • Thanks @doxiemoxie212! I think I'm going to try and get some protein in before bed and then have crackers on the night stand when I wake up. For some reason today seemed particularly bad. Hopefully tomorrow is better! :)
  • Anyone else getting hungry about every 3 hours? I'm eating a late breakfast, lunch, late afternoon snack and dinner and drinking about 60+ oz of water a day. I seriously cannot fit anymore meals into my life.

Also, I'm getting not just headaches but crazy neck pain. Apparently, it can be from hormones rushing through there all day. Who knew? Hubs is hoping I don't get one tonight for trivia, but it's been like clockwork the last 3 days so I'm not as optimistic.
  • @legallullabies I cannot get this hunger isht under control. Outside of pregnancy I really struggle to get hungry (my doctor suggested I get my leptin and ghrelin hormone levels tested, but insurance wasn't going to cover it so I stalled, and now it's irrelevant), but now it's like an effing LIFETIME of hunger is upon me, which happened last pregnancy too. And I can go from fine to HOLY ISHT PANIC HUNGRY in 5 minutes. And it's really hard for me to predict how much food I'm going to need to feel full. Outside of pregnancy I usually can't eat very much in one sitting, and I don't like leftovers so I try not to make too much, but now sometimes I can eat 3-4x what I'd normally eat in one sitting.
