Re: TTGP Grad Check-In 6.4

  • So on it!! @BusinessWife

How far along are you? 5w1d
Upcoming Appointments? first prenatal 6/25 with midwife team, having another check in with my GP in a couple weeks
Cravings/Symptoms? a little bit of everything but mostly exhaustion and sore boobs
How are you doing? Rants/Raves/Randoms? I'm doing alright. Started a new job and commuting even just 3 days a week is tiring. It's weird to know that I'm going to be leaving my job less than a year after I start and I'm not sure if I'll be back after leave is up (very thankful WA state has paid 12-week leave). Feeling a little anxious waiting so long between appointments and trying not to overthink what symptoms I have and their intensity.
    Questions? nothing yet!

</div><div>Upcoming Appointments? First Scan to see GS/YS is next Friday, 6/11.  Second scan to hear HB would be the following, 6/18.  Not sure about the rest of my RE appointments, but I did book my first MW appointment for 8w on June 30th.

</div><div>Cravings/Symptoms?  You mean, besides queso??? lmao Mostly salty stuff, but nothing I don't usually enjoy.  Symptom wise, I don't have many complaints.  Just exhausted.  And sore.   And cranky! lol But I'll take it.

</div><div>How are you doing? Rants/Raves/Randoms?  WFH is a double edged sword, to say the least.  Luckily, come to find out today that now that our transfers are done, DH really doesn't care if I keep working lol Sigh.  It will be good to stay covered between now and when I graduate from the RE, but beyond that. <<shrug emojii>> It sounds like between the two of us, I'm more concerned with keeping my job until we find a house, so we can move, but he's honestly in no rush to buy, especially with the market the way it is.  So we'll just have to see what happens...

Random Rave!!!  We saw a cardinal!  Looked out the kitchen door and it was Right There sitting on the railing!  So special.

Congrats again on the new job! @chgilmore How far is your commute?  ETA lol except my awesome gif was broken.  Got that taken care of though, too!  I do try! lol
  • @BusinessWife I seriously love your gifs and aspire to your level of gif-ness. And I love you saw a cardinal! occasionally we can see hummingbirds but that's usually about it. my commute is 30 min each way in a "reverse commute" (I live in the city and it's in a rural/burb so I don't really deal with traffic). any big needs/wants with a new house, other than probably being in it before February? lol
  • hahah Thank you!  @chgilmore  I think everyone just generally giffed a whole lot more back when I first joined lol  The reverse commute is good!  I did that my second year teaching; we lived in the edges of the more urban center and the school was farther out in the sprawl.  So not a bad commute at all, but just something to adjust to.  And drivers where I live are crazy.  Like, if you don't know how to drive, you seriously need to get off the road during rush hour cos it's like the autobahn lmao  So that was just a tiny bit stressful.

House wise, mostly we just need a little more space on the property itself.  DH has various vehicles and small equipment for work, so the kind of stuff you can't just part in any generic suburban lot, and he also needs shop space to get out there and make noise and not be bothersome.  Where we are now is already pretty rural, so it would be hard to go "backwards" into something with less space / closer neighbors etc, kwim?  It will be tough to find the sweet spot because we don't want to be too far from the town where our Church is, but we need the space, and we can't spend an *actual* fortune! ha  Wish us luck!  There is currently one house we Love that's at the top of our budget, and also the edge of how far out we want to be (but way closer to SIL), but the house itself is similar era to the one we rent now, just in way nicer shape!  So we would love that, but who knows if it will still be available by the time we get our last few things in order here.  Everything is selling so fast!

    Upcoming Appointments?
Haven't schedule it yet, waiting on my PCM to put in my referral to OB

    Cravings/Symptoms?
So far, I've been eating beef jerky sticks like they're going out of style, but I think that's mainly a protein thing than a specific-food thing. Symptom-wise, just more tired, cranky (I forgot how much of an angry pregnant lady I was last time), and peeing more.

    How are you doing? Rants/Raves/Randoms?
I'm doing okay. Work is kicking my butt, but when doesn't it? I oversee five teams of 3-4 people each, so it's a lot sometimes. There's always one "problem child" that I have to stay on top of, which makes me feel like the bad guy. Especially because these are grown-ass adults. In fact, a few of them are either the same age as me or older than I am, so....wtf. Ugh.

    Questions?
