Interesting baby fact? I haven’t been keeping up with these...
upcoming appts? Just a regular check up this Wednesday.
How are you feeling? Pretty good! Except I get horrific heartburn if I eat anything tomato based, so no pizzas, pastas, or caprese salads over here 😭😭😭
rants/raves: so ready to be done w pregnancy already but there’s so much left!
Questions? Not at the moment
coffee with celebrity? Hmmm.... I do love Reese Witherspoon... I don’t know!
Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: size of a chinchilla and developing taste buds!
Upcoming appointments: Monday for my threepeat ultrasound, let's hope she cooperates because I don't want to go to the city for a fetal echo 🤞🏻
How are you feeling?: Physically- good, I'm off diclecton finally! Emotionally I'm not doing well at all. My loss due date is in 2 weeks and I've been an absolute mess. I planted this in memory of her and gave her a name (that I haven't even shared my DH because he doesn't understand my grief)
It blooms every may and is evergreen so it will look nice all year.
Rants/Raves: my job FINALLY got posted to move me from part to full-time so once I get that I'm going on EI illness leave because I'm so done.
Questions: I can't remember if I have to fast for the one hour GD test... Can anyone advise?
GTKY: What celebrity would you like to meet for a cup of coffee? Trevor Noah or Kristen Bell
Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: grapefruit
Upcoming appointments: 5/6
How are you feeling?: pretty good! Lots of braxtons hicks, which make bending over a pin— thinking cleaning, cooking, laundry— but I’m still the one doing it all 😶
Rants/Raves: I just woke up from a glorious nap without being woken up 100x!
Questions:
GTKY: What celebrity would you like to meet for a cup of coffee? Harry Styles 🤷🏻♀️
How are you feeling?: I started taking my left over zofran as I am still vomiting every morning. I feel so much better though on that front now.
Rants/Raves: nothing that I can think of
Questions: nothing
GTKY: What celebrity would you like to meet for a cup of coffee? I don't know.... Betty white probably
@grogu would you feel comfortable sharing the name with us? I love the plant you got in remembrance. I have named all my angel babies, my ex didn't understand, but it helped me grieve to be open about it. (I still occasionally talk about them on fb. And my first loss was over 9 years ago) As for your question: don't fast for the test, but eat a good breakfast with protein. Nothing high in sugar.
Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: pomegranate
Upcoming appointments: 5/5
How are you feeling?: good overall. I’m starting to stress about getting everything done/ready before the baby comes. I’m hoping to finish painting DDs room this week then we can figure out when would work to move her into it. I still need to paint DDs current room for the nursery and then we will need to get it set up for him. I realized yesterday I’m almost to less double digits left for days and it became a lot more real.
Rants/Raves: my BFF called me last night and told me she’s 5 weeks pregnant! I’m so excited for her!!
Questions: natm
GTKY: What celebrity would you like to meet for a cup of coffee? I can’t think of anyone off the top of my head. I’ll edit if I think of someone.
@grogu that’s a beautiful plant. I got a lavender tree last year after my loss but my dog killed it (it was in a planter on my deck). I was heart broken but I’m planning on getting something else for that baby next year after our greenhouse is built and I know it will be safe/protected. Sending you love as your date nears.
@Kenneylynn3 I named her Maeve. Mostly because I LOVE the name and wanted to name the baby that if we had a girl, but DH didn't like it because they would have been born in May.
I posted about it on my social media and got a ton of love. ❤️
@mrspants0809 I would be pretty upset if my plan died. It's up on the railing to keep it away from the cats so keeping my fingers cross it's easy to care for. I definitely don't have a green thumb.
Baby is the size of a grapefruit according to my bump app, the size of a Barbie fashion doll according to my Ovia pregnancy app.
Upcoming appointments: the 13th for a regular OB appointment.
How are you feeling? I’m feeling good. Bending over keeps surprising me when I have a little difficulty with it, I wasn’t expecting to have problems this early. Otherwise I’m getting worried about getting everything ready- I tend to be a somewhat organized procrastinator and I feel like time is moving faster than my procrastinator ways can keep up with.
Rants/raves: The weather has been nice here so I’ve been able to enjoy being outside. We went to a very good friends kids outdoor bday party this weekend now that all of the adults who came are vaccinated.
Questions: NATM
GTKY: What celebrity would you like to meet for a cup of coffee? I think, Viola Davis. Or really anyone badass yet kind of low key.
@grogu, sending you light and love. No fasting needed for the 1 hr glucose test.
@mrspants0809, that is so exciting for you to have Children around the same age as your BFF!
@kenneylynn3, still sending you positive thoughts, love and light for your appointment on Thursday.
@emmylou78, an uninterrupted nap sounds so amazing! Solidarity to you with having problems with bending over.
Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days: August 30/23 Weeks

Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: A Grapefruit
Upcoming appointments: Mid-May Checkup
How are you feeling?: Great! Still going strong with that second trimester energy, though some days I feel like maybe it's waning just a little bit.
Rants/Raves: My H's workplace is being a bit difficult about his paternity leave situation. I guess my rave is that ultimately he is technically able to take as much time as he wants, which I know is not a luxury that everyone has, but my rant is that it is very clear that the partners were not anticipating him wanting to take any significant amount of time off and do not get why he's considering it. It just frustrates me so much that there is still this amount of stigma around men wanting to actually spend time with their newborn babies!
Questions: Following up on @grogu's question, is there anything else important to know about taking the glucose test in terms of what I need to do or be prepared for? My doctor's office is horrible at communicating instructions for this kind of thing.
GTKY: I'd pick someone who seems fun but who I already kind of expect to be a trash human, like a reality television star or something like that... wouldn't want to pick a celebrity whose work I actually admire and then feel disappointed if they made a bad impression, haha.
@obsessedwithoranges oh man, it didn't even occur to me until just now that prime tomato season is probably going to coincide with the period of time when I most want to avoid acidic foods. What am I going to eat all summer!? Ugh.
@grogu that is a beautiful name and a beautiful plant. Sending good thoughts as you navigate all your feelings over the next couple of weeks.
@emmylou78 I hope more help is forthcoming on all those chores and responsibilities as you get further along!
@Kenneylynn3 glad the Zofran is helping! Definitely keep us posted about how things go on Thursday.
@mrspants0809 how fun that you and your bestie are going to have babies so close in age! I have several friends who are either trying or planning to start trying in the coming months, really hoping they all get pregnant ASAP and we can have a little friend group baby boom.
@loloyoyo26 time is definitely starting to fly... since I'm a FTM I don't really know what to expect in terms of when in the third trimester getting stuff done is going to get significantly more challenging, and the unknown of all that is what's stressing me out the most right now.
@the_most_happy a couple of my friends are trying to get pregnant too and I'm so hopeful we'll all have babies close in age. My wife's BFF has a son about 6 months older than our daughter and they play together over Zoom (they live across the country) and it's really great.
In terms of glucose test, I usually try to avoid eating much sugar in the days before. You don't have to fast but once you drink it you can't eat anything and you should only drink a couple sips of water if you have to. Also you have to drink it within 5 minutes. And they need to take your blood at exactly 1 hour after you drank it. You'll probably have terrible heartburn after. Results usually take a day or two at most.
Married DW 08.2013; AI 2x; IUI 6x; IUI #7 05.2015; DD born 2.2016 ; Reciprocal IVF FET #1 on 11.18.2020
@the_most_happy glucola test kind of sucks. It used to be that you got to the lab, they gave you the sugar drink and watched you drink it, made you sit in the lab for 1 hr and then drew the blood. From some posts here, looks like some places have given out the drinks ahead of time so people won't have to sit in the lab for an hour, but you should know that when you make an appointment. I just made my appt for 2 wks from now 😬😬😬
Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: I have no clue.
Upcoming appointments: may 11 for obgyn
How are you feeling?: I finally have a bump but it's high up! It feels so weird. Energy fluctuates - I'll be out doing yard work one day and then won't be able to keep my eyes open past 8 pm just couple days later. Wth body?
Rants/Raves: I want it to be consistently warm already so I can plant my raised garden!!! Apparently we are forecasted to go back down to 40s after mothers day and I just refuse to believe that...
Questions: ugh I just had one and forgot. I'll come back for it.
GTKY: What celebrity would you like to meet for a cup of coffee? Tina Fey and Amy Poehler, together.
Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days: 25 + 2, 8/15...I think? Poor third baby!
Team Green/Pink/Blue/Finding Out: Green!
Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: Cauliflower
Upcoming appointments: May 6th for an US. Then a regular OB appointment on the 7th. I will be having ultrasounds every few weeks from here on out. Then NST's three times a week for the last 6 weeks. SO MANY appointments during the last trimester for me!
How are you feeling?: I feel like I'm slowing down. I've had to take a nap the last two days...Otherwise, just heartburn.
Rants/Raves: Add me to the baby name rant. We cannot pick names. And, since we're team green, we have to have two ready. This baby will never get a name, I swear!
Questions: NATM
GTKY: What celebrity would you like to meet for a cup of coffee? This one may be weird, but Eliza Hamilton. Obviously (like all sane people), I'm obsessed with Hamilton and read the bio too. "Burn" is my favorite song from the play and the line, "let future historians wonder how Eliza reacted when you broke her heart." That's me!! I NEED to know how she reacted. Her thoughts and emotions. It fascinates the heck out of me. And the fact that she burned a lot of their correspondence is another layer that intrigues me. I would just love to pick her brain!
@the_most_happy, IIRC, my doctors office only gave chilled glucose drinks. They said it helped it go down better? It was still awful but I don’t know if it made a difference or not. Also, thank you for mentioning FMLA- I had totally forgotten I was supposed to set up a meeting with out HR person to get that out of the way. We probably need to see what DHs company policy is too- this wasn’t something I needed to be on top of last time. DH was just going to use vacation time but he may have some other options.
@grogu, I don’t know how I missed it but Maeve is a beautiful name.
@Kenneylynn3, that’s a good low maintenance plant choice from what I understand. (I’ve been researching them because they are deer resistant and can be good for wet areas of your lawn and our lawn has both those problems.). Forget-me-nots tend to reseed themselves and just need watering or soil that stays more wet than dry (such as by a pond).
It's only Tuesday, but this thread is bumping! @obsessedwithoranges it is a weird time in pregnancy where I feel like I'm almost there, but then think about it and there's still forever to go. @grogu big hugs to you. Maeve is a gorgeous name. May I ask what kind of plant it is? Glad to hear you're off the Diclectin! @emmylou78 what I would give for an uninterrupted nap! Are you an OG Directioner? Or just a Harry Styles fan? @Kenneylynn3 I hope everything goes smoothly with your appointment on Thursday! Sending you lots of support via the internet . @mrspants0809 maybe you've already said in the nursery thread, but what colours are you painting the rooms? @loloyoyo26 the bending over is becoming a problem here too! Like even just putting socks on... @the_most_happy that is frustrating about YHs workplace. It's like its more for ~*sHoW*~ than for people to actually make use of. Also, I like your reasoning for picking you celebrity coffee date. @hannelorre we are also waiting for last frost to get planting. Apparently we are looking at June, ugh. @cyanope GL with your appointments this week! I feel like everyone this past week has just been wrecked by heartburn. It's awful!

Upcoming appointments: I think May 17th is my first appointment with my OB?
How are you feeling?: Physically, pretty crappy. Mentally burnt out. Emotionally drained.
Rants: So on Saturday MH asked if we could just trade full days with the kids (we had been splitting naptime, so that we were both getting some rest/time to ourselves in on each weekend day). I said sure, so he took naptime on Saturday. On Saturday night he wasn't feeling well, he had a headache and for 20 minutes *at the most* he had a "fever". He never actually took his temperature, because he didn't feel like getting the thermometer, he just "felt like he had a fever." So I get up with the kids on Sunday morning, MH is in bed and eventually texts me that he has booked a COVID test for that afternoon. He no longer has a headache and his temperature is completely normal, he actually took it. He then proceeds to mope around the house, trying to "help" with the kids and feed them...and I'm like GTFO. If you genuinely think you have COVID, let's minimize the risk here people! And if you're sick, you're sick! Go rest, drink water, take medicine, have a shower...don't come downstairs and make yourself an espresso! So, no nap for me. Plus I get all the laundry and cleaning done. Then on Monday, kids can't go to daycare because we hadn't got his results back so I am trying to work as well as take care of the kids. Thank goodness we got his results back last night and it was negative, because I don't think I had another day in me.
TL;DR MH can sometimes be a real bonehead, especially when he has any kind of ailment. And I could really do with a day off from work, parenting and housekeeping.
@pickle-chips ooooh taika waititi coffee date would be SO fun! Are you looking forward to the next Thor? Sorry YH was a bonehead and you didn't get to rest...
@cyanope love Hamilton. The part that gets me every time is during the last song when Eliza is talking about her orphanage. Sobfest 😭 every time.
for the nursery we will just do a gray color. I had one I loved at our old house but I don’t remember what it was called so I’ll be starting over trying to find it again.
@hannelorre I am! I was actually pretty over the Marvel universe movies/characters, tbh, but Ragnarok was so good. Very excited to see what he does with Love & Thunder. @grogu oh yeah, he's fine! It was negative--thankfully. And I don't even think it was a cold?! The only verified symptom he had was a headache. I probably sound very uncompassionate, but his track record of managing himself as an adult when he is actually sick is not good. He later mentioned that he drank three beers on Friday night and it might have actually been a hangover...ANYWAY. I'm letting it go...clearly. @mrspants0809 love thank pink!
@grogu my loss due date was such a hard day for me. I stayed in bed all day and wallowed, which was kind of therapeutic since I wasn't able to grieve much when the actual loss happened because of all my complications. Thinking of you

How are you feeling?: good overall! Super overwhelmed with work - I need covid to end. Being a contact tracer is really really really hard.
Rants/Raves: Sort of on that note - I'm transitioning out of the contact tracing work for my school next year! I'm glad I was able to serve the school in that way, but I'm so ready to go back to my regular job.
Questions: natm
GTKY: What celebrity would you like to meet for a cup of coffee? Love @cyanope's answer of Eliza. I think right now I'd pick Meghan Markle, only because I feel like I'd be able to read her better and understand what in the world is going on
Also, @pickle-chips, Taika Waititi is SUCH a good answer. I'm pretty sure "What We Do in the Shadows," "Hunt For the Wilderpeople," and "Jojo Rabbit" are ALL in my top five comedies of all time. His humor is just so SPOT ON. I literally belly laugh through all of his movies.
@cyanope my theory is that the Hamilton in the title is *actually* Eliza - the most compelling parts of the entire show are about Eliza (her love for A.Ham despite his low social standing, her support of his work forming the nation, grief after losing Phillip, and my favorite moment of the entire show - when she holds his hand during It's Quiet Uptown) and that finale song brings it all home. Regardless of who lives and who dies, Eliza is the one who tells the story. Thank you for coming to my Ted Talk. Signed - a theatre teacher who just really loves Hamilton.
Hi ladies! I’m new here, but figured I’d post in this thread rather than in the very long introductions one (or is that violating the rules? 😬). This is my second pregnancy (DS is turning 5 in a couple of weeks!)
Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days: 25 weeks today! (Aug 19)
Team Green/Pink/Blue/Finding Out: finally finding out on Monday!
(long story, but had to postpone my original AS scan due to travel... I am an American expat living in Europe (anybody from Estonia on here? 😝) and just returned a couple of weeks ago after spending time in the US with my parents etc. Mainly made the very nerve-wracking trip when covid numbers were shooting up to get the vaccine, since I’m not considered risk category here 😒.Thank goodness it all worked out! )
Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: cauliflower apparently
Upcoming appointments: AS May 10 and follow-up May 17
How are you feeling?: anxious since I haven’t seen my doctor for a long time... also already feeling huge and stretched out, so not sure where the baby is going to fit 🙈
Rants/Raves: DS has been so sweet about the baby. Today as I was getting ready for bed, he randomly ran up to me, pulled the belly panel down and gave it a kiss 😍
Questions: when exactly do they do the glucose tolerance test?
GTKY: What celebrity would you like to meet for a cup of coffee?Jon Stewart maybe. To rant about the current state of affairs
@moerae I will be doing my glucose test at my 28 week appointment. I’ll go to the lab, drink the drink, go to my appointment then back to the lab for the draw.

@grogu oh yeah, he's fine! It was negative--thankfully. And I don't even think it was a cold?! The only verified symptom he had was a headache. I probably sound very uncompassionate, but his track record of managing himself as an adult when he is actually sick is not good.
@mrspants0809 love thank pink!

I think right now I'd pick Meghan Markle, only because I feel like I'd be able to read her better and understand what in the world is going on
Estimated Due Date/Weeks + Days: 25 weeks today!
