How many months have you been TTC?:
What are you doing to get knocked up (WAYDTGKU)?:
Tell us about yourself! (Kids, pets, job, hobbies, etc.)
I am 33 my SO is 35 We just started up again, so this is our 1st month... Right now to get KU, we are using Pre Seed and trying to time things right. I use FF to track my cycles. I have PCOS, so it's making things a little harder. As my name suggests, I am deaf. I do have a cochlear implant in my left ear though. We have 1 kitty cat, who is constantly being a pain in the butt, lol. We don't have any children yet, but hoping that will change soon.
Hi @deaf_girl and welcome! I'm a fellow PCOS-er and definitely know the struggles of trying to track highly irregular cycles. Mine have varied in length anywhere from 39-100 days. Temping, charting, and OPKs have helped me get to know my cycles a bit better but it's really hard to know when to start OPKs! Have you done any testing or talked about TTC with your doctor yet?
@gingermama46 yes I've had an ongoing discussion with my doctor. Last time around, we did 3 rounds of Clomid, all 3 failed. Then we just tried NTNP, which has failed. So now we are trying pre seed and an ED approach. I'm thinking about trying OPKs again...but you're right, it's so hard to know when to start.
@deaf_girl welcome to the community! Hopefully our members who have personal experience with PCOS will be a good resource for you, and the rest of us a good support. We're all here rooting for you!
@deaf_girl welcome! I also have PCOS, and also wear a hearing aid. I was born with bilateral microtia and aural atresia, and have worn a bone-conduction aid on my right side since I was 6 weeks old. Are you taking any supplements for your PCOS? The one thing that I found really helped to regulate my cycles was myo-inositol. Specifically Ovasitol.

Hi again! 👋 <img alt="" src="https://us.v-cdn.net/5020794/uploads/editor/bt/aoubmlbx7i28.gif"> I did a mini intro on the WTO and IF threads, but as we have this lovely official one posted now, I will go ahead and re-introduce myself properly here...
As the name suggests, DH and I are business owners, not super young anymore, married and TTC since mid 2015. (<i>I joined TTGP in November 2015, when several months of charting prior to the wedding and a handful of months of trying once we were married had yielded no results. We started out with Creighton / Napro and ended up doing a surgical sperm retrieval and two back to back IVFs in 2017.</i>) Somehow we've managed to survive a "superstorm," two cross-country moves, loss of parents, being absolutely blindsided by complete MFI, ...and a global pandemic, apparently. 🤷 Our recovery from IF has also brought us full circle back to Church, which we are incredibly grateful for (and humbled by). Our religious views meant that we knew going in we would plan to transfer all our embryos, and we did not do PGS. We don't take IVF lightly, and while we are lucky and grateful to have two more chances left, we will not be creating any more embryos if these both fail. Which makes it bittersweet to be coming back, knowing we are taking one step closer to the end of the road for us biologically. Almost no one IRL knows (except SIL), not even our parents, friends etc. So it's been really a life-saver to have the support and friendship of the bump community ALL THESE YEARS. omg.
We have two ridiculous dogs and live in a semi rural old farmhouse; could be planning to move soonish, time will tell... I have been staying home this whole past year, but it looks like I may be transitioning over to WFH (for a major corporate dayjobby job with awesome IF coverage), so that's going to be an adventure in and of itself. Lol
If there are any questions I can answer or ways that I can offer support, especially to those who may have been at this a while already, that's what I'm here for. I still remember where I was when we had our dx confirmed, and the utter devastation that I felt. The TTGP ladies at the time helped carry me through in a very big way, so I suppose if I can give back in some small way now, that's the hope. ❤️
I guess that's all for now. Thank you for coming to my ted talk. 😆 <img alt="" src="https://us.v-cdn.net/5020794/uploads/editor/hx/zqjm25nphhz8.gif">
We have a 3 year old and 1 year old. I am a SAHM and do a little sewing and photography on the side.
This will probably be our last so I’m trying to take it easy and not put pressure on “trying.” So mostly I’m just casually tracking O and going from there. DH is getting ready to leave for the summer so I’m having a hard time not putting pressure on timing.
