  • I’m Trying to get the motivation to go out to find some black leggings. Anyone have any recommendations for affordable, comfortable leggings that hold up? I have been wearing the active ones from Walmart and I just saw my black pair is getting a hole in them. I’m contemplating getting a new pair from there or trying something else
  • Yesterday was my "cleaning" day, and today is cooking day. Made a batch of whole wheat everything bagels, beans (for the chili, since we have a ton of dried in the pantry), and just put the short rib chili in the oven to braise for a few hours. Later I'll make beer bread for the chili, but for now I think I'm going to be lazy the rest of the day
  • @DoubleUp8 what are you making? We had buffalo chicken dip, kielbasa, and chicken wings.

@dogmom5 I really like the LuLaRoe leggings.

    @akoros Sounds delicious!

  • We have been mostly relaxing today. Getting ready to start cooking our “dinner” of mostly appetizers. This is the first weekend I haven’t worked at all since New Years. It was nice just being with my family and relaxing.

@dogmom5 I found a pair of motherhood maternity ones on Amazon that I really like. And I think I they were only $15!

My sister(who is 4 weeks behind me pregnant) is mad at me because I didn’t go to her super bowl party. Sorry I didn’t want to possibly expose myself to the random people you invited. Whatevs 🤷🏻‍♀️

ETA: we don’t even care about football. She also lives an hour away, so why would we go for something we know we won’t necessarily enjoy, other than some food, to keep our kids up way past their bedtime and possibly be exposed to Covid? Nah, I’ll pass.
  • @MelissaMay82 It was! Oof, so full....
  • Just relaxing today... I heard there’s a sports game on? I’ve been napping for a few hours.

My accomplishment was taking a deep cleaning shower today. I did a face mask, hair mask, shaved, trimmed my nails, buffed my feet... I’m feeling FRESH 💁🏻‍♀️

I’m dying to get back to the salon but I think I’m just gonna keeping waiting it out.
  • @mc0303 not going to lie, one of the things that I'm most excited about re: getting the covid vaccine is getting my hair done. I'm usually at the salon for 4-5 hours for highlights and cut, and other than a quick trim in July haven't been since Jan 2020. I should be fully vaccinated by the end of March and already have an appt set 🙌
  • @_orchid_ saaaaame, both hair and nails for me, my heels are beyond disgusting and my hair is really sad. I am usually pretty high maintenance so it’s been a weird year for me lol.

  • To everyone else not watching or caring for the Super Bowl.....I am with you on that!

@ramfam2507 thanks. I was actually looking at the motherhood ones. I need to just order them and if I can find on amazon, even better :)

@MelissaMay82 I have always heard good things about lularoe but I haven’t seen anyone selling them for a while now
  • @_orchid_ I feel you so hard!!! I went in for a quick trim in September and before that it was Oct. 2019 😖. I really need to go and get a new cut. I’ll be dying my hair purple too 💁🏻‍♀️ I want a whole weekend at the spa when this mess is under control.

@_orchid_ and @mc0303, I need a haircut so badly. I’m hoping to get one in April and cut like 7 inches off my hair. It’s so long. And a massage. I need a massage ASAP.

    @mindyb2019, that’s so exciting!!

We had a huge snow storm yesterday which was exciting because it was the 1st time in 11 years. It’s hasn’t snowed properly here in 4 years actually. My son loved it and we all had a blast. I don’t think the roads are bikeable today so we will have to cancel his doctor appointment. Hopefully better by tmr as I don’t want to take the tram to my midwife Appt. But I also don’t want to bike in snow as I have never done it.

  • I hear you all on the haircut, and @AKuzReve for the massage. Thankfully I'm fairly low-maintenance (don't dye or treat my hair), but it'll still be at least a year between appointments which is way too long. I think I got a haircut just pre-COVID, and probably won't go back until vaccination picks up so...summer? fall?
  • We don’t watch sports but as an attempt to do something differently and “have fun” we made snacks and watched the game. DS1(3.5) loved the “sport” and was trying to play “sports” this morning before school.
    Pregnancy Ticker
  • @dogmom5 not inexpensive, though they often have sales, but the beyond yoga maternity leggings are amazing! For non-maternity, I watch Nordstrom rack for the zella leggings. They’re my favorite for daily wear and exercise.

@AKuzReve haven’t had a massage in over a year and I miss them so much! No haircut, either, but if I had to pick one I’d pick massage, hands down.

Just overheard my husband introducing himself to a new hire “and I have a wife and a 2 year old, so if you hear screaming in the background that’s why”. Me - the screaming would just be from the 2 year old... lol

The training I'm in this week just told us they plan to take lunch breaks around 2:30....yeah, that's not happening. Going to break rule #2 of "no eating" (it's virtual and my camera is off, so not like anyone can tell)
  • @akoros Why in the world would there be a no eating rule if your cameras are off?? That doesn't even make sense! Also, who makes a no eating rule in the first place?

Not much happening for me this week. DH and I are going on a tiny babymoon/last childless V-Day trip this weekend. We're driving and staying in an AirBNB where we will be away from all other people, so feeling pretty safe.

I've been working in office 2 days a week since June or so, and I spoke with my boss last week. I let him know that I want to WFH full time starting in May, until I deliver, so I don't have any unnecessary exposure risk. They approved it, no questions asked. It made me feel so supported, which I absolutely love!

  • @Maggie1202 Maybe it's a slide from when they did it in-person? Even still though, I get not wanting people to bring in a big (particularly smelly) meal, but snacks are necessary during the afternoon slump
  • @AKuzReve I’m in need of a massage badly too, my body is dying for some pampering!
How does it work when you’re pregnant, do they make you lie on your side? I don’t know how much I would enjoy that haha

  • @wendy838, the place I normally go to (pre-covid) has a bed with cutouts for belly and boobs so you lay on your front still. It’s great. I have a gift certificate from 1 year ago that I still haven’t used because I put it off January to March and then pandemic happened. I wish I didn’t put it off. 😅😅

  • @AKuzReve In the same boat, though at this point I think it's a bit older than a year. When I got pregnant the first time I figured I'd wait until a later trimester when "I really needed it", which didn't happen, and then COVID hit before I had a second to regroup and use it early last year. I'm hoping they survive, if for no other reason than they're really good and actually somewhat reasonable (unlike most things in this city).

@MelissaMay82 I made Buffalo Chicken dip, Velveeta queso, and potato skins. Also opened some salsa and hummus.

@dogmom5 I like the Walmart No Boundaries ones. They are super soft and super cheap. For work from home, I don't need anything fancy.

    edit: posted too fast

I am with the need a haircut crowd. I have not had a cut since fall 2019. I was going to go in March 2020, then pandemic. Was going to go in the fall, but after finding out I was pregnant, I felt like it wasn't worth the risk since I was WFH for a lot of the fall. At this point, it is so long and needs to go. Maybe once this baby comes...

  • I need new maternity clothes, but all of the motherhood maternity stores by me closed...I know a lot of people say Old Navy has good maternity stuff, but I can't find anything I like in Old Navy even when I'm not pregnant. The only target in my area has nothing and the Kohls stopped suppling maternity wear. Has anyone found any online stores that sell good maternity clothes?
  • @mrs_massie you can get motherhood online if you've liked there stuff in the past, I've ordered quite a bit from there.  just as a heads up the last thing I ordered from there took almost 2 weeks to arrive with the free shipping option, if you need it sooner it may be worth paying for faster shipping.  Macy's also sometimes carries things in store or you can order online from there too.
  • @ellieemc26 i've looked online the motherhood maternity and pea in a pod store and I just don't like anything they have right now...Everything seems frumpy to me

  • @mrs_massie I got some stuff at H&M last pregnancy and Ann Taylor Loft sometimes has cute stuff.  The Kohl's I was at a couple of weeks ago had maternity - maybe they have some stuff online.

Take a look at my blog

  • @mrs_massie I just was in Old Navy on Sunday looking for maternity clothes too and there is absolutely nothing!! I was shocked how little they had. Don't waste your time. I was really disappointed as people have told me how good the maternity stuff is there too.
  • I just feel like people arent stocking or putting out new maternity styles this year because of COVID...I'm really disappointed because, yea I spend a lot f time at home in my sweats, but we are going away for the weekend after Valentines and I need stuff to wear in public lol
  • Ha, yeah it's been a struggle to find much besides t-shirts and leggings.  I keep hoping to find something cute, but I'm always at home so it doesn't really matter for me!
  • H&M is my go to for maternity clothes.

    *Live, Love, Laugh, Learn*

  • Half of my friends list on fb got to go to the super bowl. Would have been nice to go but my hospital only got 100 tickets 😭

We ended up booked a Disney hotel for next weekend just to get out of the house. So yay. I’ll go to the hotel but not the parks right now (personal comfort).
  • @mrs_massie @mindyb2019 I have some old navy maternity stuff from my first pregnancy in 2015 and it is really nice stuff. They stopped carrying maternity in the store by me and they told me I had to shop online. My motherhood maternity stores by me closed too.

I am also with everyone needing some pampering! I need a pedicure and a haircut so bad lol
  • @sgrn18 good luck!! You are going in being honest about your situation so if they choose you they know what to expect. It may not be ideal, but don’t stress about it. Your old boss thought highly enough of you to tell you to apply.

I too am struggling to find cute maternity clothes. Especially work maternity clothes. I feel all the tops are frumpy and not cute. I have been wearing a few of my Loft shirts that are still fitting and then maternity t-shirts under a blazer. For pants, I can’t find any jeans I like, but I ordered three pair of Old Navy Maternity Pixie Pants and they are great! They fit like regular pants and don’t pucker or move in weird places.
  • @wendy838 when I got prenatal massages last time they did have me lay on my side (and switch sides halfway through). It was still a good massage. I can’t wait to go for massages again once I’m vaccinated.

@sgrn18 good luck on the job interview!
