@aisukurimsarang I'm guessing you're looking for a laugh? Or a cry?
Ok, so maybe my distaste for all the gray baby clothes didn't offend anyone. How about this bit of me being judgemental:
What's with all the huge bows on baby girls?? Are people that terrified someone may think babe is a boy? Are they really needed for baby girls to look cute? No!! Listen, I actually think bows and headbands can be pretty adorable. I just don't understand why some parents put them on their girls 24/7. Give those little foreheads a break.
@Lexibizzel I'm with you on the huge bows! My girls wore normal sized bows and headbands. I didn't feel the need to swallow their whole head with a bow.
@Lexibizzel, I just read the Memes and the occasional people who literally think he is God's gift to America.
As far as the Grey clothes, I'm so over muted colors for babies. All the girl clothes at Carters are just BLECH! I'm so depressed! I was thrilled to be able to have pinks and yellows and bright colors again. And now, it's all boring. There's a reason your baby loves that yellow ball or purple octopus or pink block. It stands out and they can see it. It will NOT over stimulate them.
Let's not even talk about the giant bows. I'll stick with my palm tree Pont tails and pig tails.
@lexibizzel... i can't stand the giant bows! DD1 has a couple small bows and skinny headbands, and I really only put them on her when we dressed up for things. I felt bad for her head haha
Maybe I would have used them more if she didn't have so much hair... who knows.
@Lexibizzel I'm seriously worried about my inability to do my future daughter's hair. I can't even think about big bows versus small bows, I'm over here googling basics like "what's a palm tree pony tail" lol
@eahayes, easy.... It's a little pony tail atop their heads that, because the hair is so short and the hair tie so big, it ends up looking like a palm tree. DD1 had PERFECT hair for it. I loves doing one on each side of her head, in pigtails. (melt)
Also, once DD1 was old enough, we'd sit down and I'd simply practice with her hair. Until then, simple was best. Toddlers and preschoolers don't like to sit still.
Tip from a mom of two girls: get these tiny little hair bands! I typically bought mine from Dollar Tree or a drugstore. They may break after one use but they’re so cheap, it’s no big deal. You can use one of these with a bow or clip and it’s super easy. And when your baby gets old enough to yank bows out of her hair, she won’t be able to get her fingers on these so they stay put!
Also, if you’re about to get in the car, wait until you reach your destination to put a bow or headband on. I don’t know how many times we got out of the car and DD1 was looking like a pirate with her headband over her eye. We learned our lesson. 😂
@bbrahmbhatt, DD1 is half Mexican-American and she had a headful of fine, black hair that was about 2 inches long and stuck up straight off her head until she was about 9 months old.
Also, it's not just girls you can give palm trees to. I swore to my BFF we wouldn't cut the kids' hair until 1 and my little guys has a ton of hair, so.... Here is DS2 about a month ago.
@bblair24 My husband cuts his own hair with electric clippers and we just use the same ones for my son now. We put an Elmo video on to distract him. It's pretty easy. We probably do it once every three or four months.
@kadeephd DH doesn’t cut his own hair, but I was talking to him about it after I posted and he said he thought he could manage cutting the little guy’s hair! So that’s a good solution.
@bblair24 I second the little bands! The were perfect for pig tails and the "palm tree" (we call it a fountain pony) haha
Also, if for some reason you have access to dental products, we figured out that rubber bands for braces work perfectly as well
@eahayes I can't tell you how many times i've looked up "easy toddler hair" on pinterest, i got some cute ideas for side ponies and stuff. Like @aisukurimsarang said, my DD was great about letting me do whatever I want up until she was about 18 months... Once she turned two, I dread doing her hair every morning and she generally goes to daycare with a half poney tail with bumps and hair flying in every direction.
