Re: TTCAL w/o 11.23

  • Introduce yourself and anything you think is important: number of loss(es), when you had the loss(es), diagnosis/conditions surrounding loss, etc. Hi. Just turned 43 and had an early mc at the end of Oct. My loss history is in my siggy.

    Status: WFAF

How are things going? Crappy. CD27 and thinking I didn't O this cycle (loosely going off of my rhr chart) and 5 days of spotting is just my body being wonky.

What is something that you are struggling with and/or what is going well? My doctor said I can go on bc pills after the spotting to regulate my cycle. That would be mean starting bc today, but I'm having a hard time closing this chapter for good. I might hold off until AF (which might be any day now anyways) or perhaps one more cycle and end 2020 knowing we are done for good.  =(

Any testing coming up/any recent results? BFN this morning. I've only got one FRER left so I won't be testing again for a while.

Questions? If you had an anovulatory cycle after your mc, how long did it last and what was your next cycle like?

GTKY: Name a popular/classic movie you love and one that you hate. Home Alone. I used to love watching it as a kid and watching it again as an adult and I'm just like, wth? I wouldn't say I hate it but definitely not as big a fan as before.

  • Introduce yourself and anything you think is important: 1 MMC Nov 9

    Status: WFAF

How are things going? Emotionally, I'm ok until I'm not.

What is something that you are struggling with and/or what is going well? My hot are almost negative, not quite a squinter but not blaring positive.

My opk are positive so hopefully that means I'll get back to a normal cycle in a few weeks 🤞

Any testing coming up/any recent results? Had an ultrasound last week, apparently still have some thickening in my uterus or something. Started bleeding a bit again this weekend which was expected. I'll go for a follow up ultrasound next month.

    Questions? None at the moment.

@notawhoops I'm really sorry you are having to make that decision ❤️ I hope you find peace in your next chapter

  • @notawhoops I'm sorry you are having to go through that. It's hard to feel like we don't fully have control over how our family will look. I hope you find some peace and closure whatever you choose to do.

@baby_yoda1986 You seem like you're on track for a normal cycle. I will warn you that OPKs can be weird (basically look really positive for many days) after loss. But if you are down to faint HPTs it's a good sign AF will be coming in a couple of weeks.

Introduce yourself and anything you think is important: most recent loss mmc at 11.5 w, mono/di twins in September.

    Status: TWW

How are things going? Fine? Mostly just Thanksgiving family drama.

What is something that you are struggling with and/or what is going well? I switched to Natality OPKs, and man those things are way better. They have *such* clear negatives and positives. The test line was basically non-existant before day 13 or so, then bam on day 14 & 15, very positive. I had been using pregmates which, at least for me, never varied very much at all. I am trying to reduce the hassle of TTC as much as possible (and basically reduce my time thinking about it), so I am all for these, even though they are $$$.

Any testing coming up/any recent results? Nope.

    Questions? Nope.

  • @kiki047 I'm so sorry for your loss.
I completely agree with you on the Meghan Markle article. It was EVERYWHERE and felt like a gut punch every time someone tagged or sent it to me yesterday.

  • @inthewoods23 thank you <3 as you know, navigating grief in isolation is a whole new level of loss and the family is trying to wrap our heads around it. Re: National Lampoon, I want to like it so badly but I could never get into it. I know so many people love that movie. Maybe I'll try again this holiday season.

@baby_yoda1986 thank you :(  and yes, even just trying to watch our local news last night, every other headline was like "MEGHAN MARKLE HAD A MISCARRIAGE". SMH. I do think that we need to work harder to normalize it but omg you're sensationalizing the literal loss of someone's baby, have some compassion. I was getting really angry by the end of the day.

  • @notawhoops Same as others have said...I am so sorry you have to make this decision and hope you find peace in whatever you chose.

@baby_yoda1986 I’m sorry you have to deal with all these ultrasounds. Having to go back in to your OB at all is terrible when you see all the women there for the reason you want to be there. But hope those HPTs are fully negative and AF is here soon!

@bumblebee0210 Hope the family drama yesterday wasn’t bad and enjoyed your holiday! I’m going to check out that OPK brand!

@kiki047 I am so sorry about everything! First, back injuries are the worst because literally EVERYTHING you do hurts. And I’m so sorry your family is having to deal with so much loss. I hope you are doing ok...that is a lot of loss and grief to be dealing. Hope you’re Christmas decorations look amazing though’l!

    Status: WFAF...

How are things going? WFAF is so frustrating...now 5+ weeks post D&C. Still have very very faint positives in the AM on the pregmate HPTs. So really hoping that goes away soon and not something more like stuff the D&C didn’t get...

What is something that you are struggling with and/or what is going well? Just the lack of any idea where AF is or when she’ll come 🙄. Next week will be 6 weeks and my doctor said 4-6 weeks, so hoping any day now. Something going well...I love this time of year work-wise. Things slow down a bit...people are so jovial...and things just seem to go smoothly (knock on wood...hope I didn’t jinx myself).

Any testing coming up/any recent results? N/A

Questions? None right now...but sure there will be some to come!

GTKY: Name a popular/classic movie you love and one that you hate. Christmas related? I love Elf! I don't like A Christmas Story...and I'm forced to watch it every year and I know so many people love it.

Hi dear ladies. I just wanted to drop in and say that it was very thoughtless of me to post that MM article here. I don't know what you're going through, and I didn't think very long that all of you will be bombarded with the same news as I was. I did find her words very raw, and it touched me in unexpected aways, hence why I posted. But I stopped short of thinking how your experience differs from hers... alone in start hospital rooms, without friends any family to comfort you even after. From now on, I will just stay in my lane. Hugs to you all, and I am really really sorry. Sending you all of the support I can muster.

  • @notawhoops I'm so sorry you're not only grieving your loss, you're also feeling the weight of the loss of a chance at possible children in the future too. That's a heavy burden to take all at once and I'm sending you hugs as you navigate your next steps.
@baby_yoda1986 this middle ground we're in following the MC is so frustrating. You're not PG anymore, but chemically you still have the hormones in your system, you're trying to think forward to TTC, but you still haven't moved on from your loss. I'm absolutely with you on being "ok until I'm not". Do you have to go for a beta test at any point or are they letting you rely on HPTs to test your HCG down to 0?
@bumblebee0210 I hope you were able to enjoy your Thanksgiving without too much drama. That kind of stress on top of everything you're already dealing with must just feel like the icing on the cake of a colossally difficult year. Hugs!
@sienna221 that's nice you get a bit of a break at work this time of year. I agree with people being in a generally better mood overall. Sounds like so many of us are still WFAF - my RE actually agreed that I could start BCP to prep for my mock transfer cycle without having to wait until she finally, eventually rears her ugly head so that's kind of a relief.
@acleverusername thank you for recognizing how your post could have been hurtful, and for your apology. I personally wasn't affected by it because I had already seen so much of it everywhere, but something like that would generally require a TW - even in this thread - in case anyone needed to prepare themselves before they just blindly click on a link. Navigating TTCAL is a delicate, frustrating, emotional process that adds so much more complexity to TTC as a whole, and even I'm still learning what that looks/feels like and it'll be different for everyone. I hope you never have to experience it yourself!

  • @kiki047 there is zero follow up from my doctor so I am relying on the hpt. The only reason they sent me for an ultrasound was because I requested it. I will likely request bloodwork if I don't get my period in a few weeks. I appreciate the Canadian medical system but some things are definitely lacking.

I totally agree that the limbo sucks. I just want to get back on the TTC train already.

@acleverusername thank you for your apology.
  • @sienna221 Sorry for the frustrating wait on AF. I'm not sure if this is a reassuring story or not, but with my first loss, I took a long time to get back to normal (~3 months post-MVA). I doubt this will be the case for you because 5 weeks out my hcg was like 2,000 (no faint lines for me!). BUT the silver lining is that even with that fairly extreme outcome, I was fine, there was no underlying issues, and my cycle was fine once it resumed, and *tw lc*
Not too long after, conceived a take-home baby.
I think this is just one of those things that differs a lot from woman to woman and loss to loss. I am very sympathetic to your impatience, but it was helpful for me to reframe that time as a break from all of the counting and stressing and general TTC-anxiety.

@kiki047 I'm sorry-- it sounds like you are having a really difficult month. I agree totally on the MM article.
