I don't do a social media post, but I like to find funny/sneaky ways to let everyone know. DH's grandparents used to run a day camp. They are in the process of cleaning out their house, and one of DH's aunts is helping them. The aunt sent out on the family WhatsApp asking if anyone wanted t-shirts from the camp in assorted children's sizes. I responded "Yes please. Do they come in newborn onesie sizes? We will need one in May."
Yaaay, finally told my parents and sister in person at 15 weeks and the announcement went perfectly!! They were completely shocked with lots of "tears and cheers" as my mom called it 😊😊
About a year or so ago, my parents gave my husband money for his birthday to buy a new pair of cowboy boots. My husband purchased them relatively quickly, but got in his mind that he wanted to use the cowboy boots as a way to do a surprise baby announcement with my family. Unfortunately we suffered recurrent pregnancy loss which delayed things. My parents would joke with my husband from time to time about when he was finally going to get the new boots and he would just coyly reply, "Oh, still looking. But I promise you guys will love them when you see them."
So fast-forward to Thursday evening, where my husband FINALLY brings out the cowboy boot box and my parents laugh and say it's about time. Then my parents opened the box together with my sister behind them. My sis got it right away, but with both of my parents, it was like a 5 second processing delay. Then utter chaos and joy!! It was awesome. It's the first grandbaby this family will have, so they're just over-the-moon about it! I'm so happy they finally know!
I forgot about this thread. I wanted to wait until we knew the gender, but my husband starting asking if we could do it earlier. My original plan was to announce it on his birthday, so I kind of winged it. I completely forgot the due date so I threw in a hashtag for that. For IG I posted a happy birthday picture and then swiping revealed my DS with the positive pregnancy test and then me and my bump. The description was of my husband's birthday and #surprise.
For WhatsApp and Facebook I used the following and most are good at guessing.
