Our dryer broke last night. Again. DH just fixed it about two months ago. And a year before that. And two years before that. It’s break down rate has started an exponential growth. We have had it for 11 years now, but DH said ‘I’m not letting this dryer die this year. I’ll fix it again.’ Lol! But seriously, WTF dryer?! We are a family of 5, we need our dryer.
@yellingbanana Thank you! Yes, WTF Wednesday was definitely needed a lot on my last BMB. Hopefully we can get traction for it and Monday B*fest.
That's so frustrating about your dryer, but 11 years is a really good long life for a dryer. Obviously you should do what works best for your family, and your probably already aware of this, but almost all appliances are on a huge back order. My parent's neighbor's dryer broke, and they were without for over a month while waiting for a new one to come in. You may want to order one now while yours is still fixable so that you don't have to be without one for too long.
So a little back story for my WTF Wednesday. We have a giant sign on the door that says if you have any of these symptoms (insert list of COVID symptoms listed on CDC website) please do not come in, go to your car and call to reschedule. well this morning I have someone come in go to see the nurse and says I have a pending COVID test. WTF!!! you're supposed to be quarantined!!! So I emailed a script for my receptionist for her to make sure no one has COVID symptoms when she calls to confirm appointments.

I wish I could post the video I took. I se t it to my fiancé saying WTF. I think our upstairs neighbor plays the drums. I can't believe I didn't notice before, we've been living here 4 months. It seems like it's just above my home office, superhot embarrassing on a conference call.
OMG @mkc3888 major facepalm. WTF indeed. @mimser oh god, the drums. Thaaat's just great when you're WFH. or just home, in general lol.
My WTF is that the lamp I ordered on Amazon has only been working intermittently since I got it 3 weeks ago. Flickers randomly, one of the brightness settings wasn't working at all - like I would turn it down to the lowest setting and it just turned itself off, wouldn't even stay on. So I started a return for it yesterday and since then it's been working *perfectly*. Nary a flicker. lol figures.

Here was my actual WTF today lol, I text this to my fiancé with those exact words.
To explain, the top script is zofran. I am wanting to try to get off the zofran because it is super constipating. So, my doc called in Diclegix... and I got a text saying that was the price estimate?! Are you kidding me 🤣🤣 I think I’m going to go without that one thank you.
Isn’t diclegis basically B6 and Unisom?! So we put those two things together and magically it cost that much? I called my OB after and was like ya... just tell me how much to take of B6 and unisom on my own....
@brynn_mamaof4 yep! When my OB was first prescribing something for me she said she’d send both in but that the diclegis was hit or miss on whether it was affordable under insurance but that it was just b6+unisom but easier because it’s one thing to take. I ended up just going with the zofran and now I’m actually on zofran and B6 + unisom because the zofran wasn’t enough. Prescription drug prices can be so crazy!
@gusgus14 I was floored.. appalled! Lol. To be fair I don’t have market insurance. I get my insurance outside the marketplace more for catastrophic reasons, because I find the affordable care act isn’t exactly.. affordable. Paying $800/mo with a $5k deductible is crazy to me. It’s cheaper to self pay for appointments and just ask for the self pay discounted rate. For instance all my OB care, ultrasounds etc for the 9 months is $3k. I wouldn’t even hit my deductible! But that’s a rant for another day lol.
@brynn_mamaof4 the kids and I had insurance through ACA ($500/mo back then), until my husband and I finally got married 4 years ago. Because his company offers insurance, we have to take it and can’t get it through ACA. It’s literally like a second mortgage, almost $1,700/month and usually only covers half the cost of whatever we are doing. I’m worried that my c-section is going to cost us an arm and a leg 😬 hopefully we don’t have any complications 🤞🤞🤞 I have a special hatred for health insurance companies.
@brynn_mamaof4 try the GoodRX app. Our dog is on Xanax for anxiety and we used to pay $60+ for her prescription every month but with that app we pay like $15. Worth a shot!
I went to refill my Zofran today because I took the last dose (but have 6 refills) but apparently my insurance only covers 27 doses every 68 days. WTF?! The tech checked GoodRX and it was $200 (I think I paid $16 with insurance?). So yay that’s fun. I might still be able to get it for cheaper at another pharmacy with GoodRX, I just have to see if any are in my area and then have my prescription transferred but I basically drove 20 minutes to the pharmacy for nothing and now I’m annoyed and also out of nausea meds other than B6/unisom.
Do you have any pregnant friends that aren't nauseated and could get an rx for you? I wonder if you could call your insurance and tell them you're having twins to see if they can file an exception?
@texas_t yep, that's the generic! And the only pregnant person I know locally is my OB lol. Thankfully, I've been feeling somewhat better this week but still sick. I guess tomorrow I'll find out how I do off of the zofran at least until I get it figured out.
My old OB's office had a coupon for Diclegis in my last pregnancy. I didn't want to mess with it this time around, so I've been using Unsiom/B6 and I think it works the same, FWIW. This insurance stuff is for the birds, man.
ok i know its Thursday, but this just happened...really need to vent and I know theres probably a few of you here that can relate to nosey in laws. My mother in law just stopped by to borrow a tool from us. My husband met her outside because the house is a mess because I have not been feeling well and havent kept up with much. She asked where I was and my husband said she's inside she is feeling good...She asks him if there's a chance I'm pregnant....My husband tries to get out of it, but he also can't lie so he says idk I guess there's a chance (i mean I never know how to answer this question when they ask you at the dr.s either because yea, I'm a married women I guess there's always a chance I'm pregnant...)Anyway, she then demands a real answer from him forcing him to tell her I am. I'm so annoyed because we weren't sharing with anyone yet and I think its really rude for people to ask before you tell. What if we had a big announcement planned that she just spoiled, not to mention, we recently had our second loss and didnt want to share too soon..I'm just so urked right now..
@mrs_massie UGH I'm so annoyed for you. That's so rude, even if it is his mother. At what point will they realize that it's none of their business if you're not ready to share? We did IVF so it was a little more common knowledge that we were trying so people have been HARASSING my mom for info because they know she's the weakest link, and when I blow them off they go to her. I told her to tell them to f*ck off and mind their own business and we'll tell them when we're good and ready. I'm so sorry your MIL nosed her way into that before you were ready.
