We finally told our (immediate) family this weekend! I’d been wanting to wait until thanksgiving but there’s a chance that we won’t actually see them all so this past weekend we got the chance to tell a lot of them in person at lunch. We prepped our 5 year old to say the prayer before lunch and she nailed it “thank you God for this food...& thank you that we’re going to have a new baby brother in our family” 😆 It was awesome!
@goldpolkadot oh I love that!!! Did everyone catch it right away?! We are still holding out for Thanksgiving for hubby's family. I just ordered a shirt that says "the turkeys not the only thing in the oven". I'm nervous his mom is going to be mad we waited so long to tell her! But he's excited.
@runsoncoffee DO IT!! I still think a thanksgiving announcement would be epic and just SO SO fun!! Love that shirt!!! Honestly my mom seemed a smidge sad that we hadn’t said anything sooner but I’m still glad we waited as long as we did for sure. I would say about 2/3 caught something right away 😆 my FIL and BIL definitely just said “Amen!” and then dug in to lunch 😂😂 but my MIL practically jumped out of her seat and said “WAIT IS THIS AN ANNOUNCEMENT?!” It was super fun!
@runsoncoffee, we waited to tell NMIL with DS2 until all the genetic testing and the Anatomy Scan came back. She was upset that we waited so long, but was so excited once we got a word in edge wise and told her the sex and that everything was fine with the baby.
