How are you feeling?: Felt faint for the first time this week. Of course, the temp was over 100 and we don't have AC. But I also read that at this time in pregnancy, you have the lowest blood pressure and are most likely to get faint/dizzy. It was only one day, so I'm glad it passed.
Rants/Raves: Went out on a lake last weekend. That was heaven. Only, a rant is that the sun exposure enabled my chloasma to grow. It was only faintly on my forehead before, and now it decided that the area underneath my eyes is a great place to add dark lines. Because what I need is dark eye circles.

Upcoming appointments: Tomorrow morning for anatomy scan/20week ultrasound
How are you feeling?: Pretty good...some indigestion and heartburn definitely, lately.
Rants/Raves: Just some weirdness at work lately with staff changes, including a new coworker who seems passive-aggressive in a weird and unproductive way.
Questions: nope
GTKY: What's your favorite quality in your partner/about your relationship? He is big into talking issues out and early in our relationship forced me to learn how to not avoid conflict and just talk about differences maturely. He also makes me laugh more than anyone, is very persevering, and I love that he's a big reader.
Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: A croissant
Upcoming appointments: MFM on Monday for cervical length and anatomy scan.
How are you feeling?: I feel okay! Some back pain/cramping which is normal with a short cervix.
Rants/Raves: We had our weekly ultrasound yesterday and no cervical change from last week! So that’s great. As of now we’re hoping for “short but steady” meaning its definitely short but its not changing. Cervical change is the biggest predictor of preterm labor. Also my amniotic sac still looks like a snow globe, but MFM said this week it looks better and doesn’t look like “classic cervical sludge” so its likely its something else in there (blood, mucus, skin cells) which is still weird but not necessarily harmful.
Questions: WHY am I already dealing with heartburn 😫
GTKY: What's your favorite quality in your partner/about your relationship? He is so patient. He really never loses his temper or his cool. Its refreshing.
Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: avocado

How much he makes me laugh ❤️ He jokes how I say “dance monkey” and he does something funny. He’s very handy. Lastly he loves to talk out issues & is so open with communication (which I’m not the greatest with)- he’s never once raised his voice or been cross. I really lucked out 🍀

Upcoming appointments: September 10th for my AS
How are you feeling?: Pretty good. I'm still not sleeping well at night which is causing me to get headaches at times. I brought it up at my appointment last week and got some recommendations for meds to try. Trying hard to get in enough water at work to combat dehydration too.
Rants/Raves: I think I felt some baby kicks the other day! And I got the call today that they are opening my son's room at daycare finally and he can go back on Monday. I now have to work on getting him to wear a mask for more than 2 minutes.
Questions: None.
GTKY: What's your favorite quality in your partner/about your relationship? He works very hard to provide for our family and will do anything I ask of him. He knows when I'm overwhelmed and always offers to help offset some stress.

Upcoming appointments: Aug 24- Anatomy scan
How are you feeling?: Physically I’m feeling pretty good. Mentally and emotionally I’m still quite down a lot of the time. I’m wondering if I’m experiencing some prenatal depression. Time to make an appointment with my therapist. 2020 has been a hard year for so many people. I experienced the loss of my brother and my aunt this year. It’s hard to know what is typical sad feelings/ grief and what is pregnancy/ hormone related. Either way, I’m looking forward to getting back on track.
Rants/Raves: This week I’ve welcomed two new things... I’m finally feeling the baby move and I’m having horrible heartburn. One is far more exciting than the other. How funny is it that all three of us with the same due date (@carleym93, @aels12 and I) are commenting on our heartburn this week? Well, funny and not funny.
Questions: None
GTKY: What's your favorite quality in your partner/about your relationship? I really appreciate how easy going he is, how funny he is and how supportive he is.
Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: Action figure
Upcoming appointments: next Friday for OB and MFM
How are you feeling?: Pretty great during the day, but I get a headache every single night, and I’m definitely getting plenty of water, so I just hear through then go to sleep.
Rants/Raves: My SCH is gone!!!
Also, I am so freaking pumped for sweater weather. I love summer, but it’s been high 90’s for weeks, and I am done with sweating.
Questions: You all are awesome, and I love it here.
GTKY: What's your favorite quality in your partner/about your relationship? The way he so willingly helps and serves....me, our kids, our neighbors, I love it so so much.
@lavenderclouds I had a really dizzy day like that last week, I just took it easy, but hydration definitely helped.

Upcoming appointments: Second OB appointment this week after my BP was super high at my first appointment last week.
How are you feeling?: Sore and tired... and hungry
Rants/Raves: This got long so its in a spoiler
My BP was super high last week when I had my first OB appointment, so now I'm taking aspirin every night and tracking my BP twice daily to report back to her. This happened after my last primary doc appointment last month and I did similar tracking then and I don't understand why my doctor didn't forward that data when my referral happened to an OB. Don't get me wrong. great that we're checking this out to make sure there's no issue, but I've been though this song and dance so recently I just wish they could communicate between offices. (I'm in Ontario where prenatal care is handled by a primary doc until 16-20 weeks so I JUST switched to my OB, and my file was supposed to be completely transferred). I had multiple reasons for it to have been high in office (first time seeing so many people (in the waiting room) since March, previous loss, having just gotten off the phone arguing with someone from work). Hopefully I'll bring in all my normal readings from all week and that'll be that...
Questions: Anyone else randomly sore all the time? Wondering if this is totally pregnancy related or if I need a new desk chair...
GTKY: What's your favorite quality in your partner/about your relationship? He knows exactly when to act like a goof ball and when to be serious. Also, hes really good about trying to teach/explain stuff that he knows and I don't.
@carleym93 glad to see things haven't changed this week!
Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: A mango
Upcoming appointments: Next Wednesday
How are you feeling?: Pretty good!
Rants/Raves: We finally got a chest freezer! I have been asking my husband to get one before the state shut down in March; I pretty much leave all appliance purchases up to him. He's been saying that he can't find any online, you need to call the store, and they're really hard to find in general. So after months, I decided to take matters into my own hands and called a couple of Home Depots near us. One of them had one in the size we were looking for and it got good reviews, so we went out and bought it today. So excited about an appliance!
Questions:
GTKY: What's your favorite quality in your partner/about your relationship? He's always willing to do whatever needs to be done for the family. We pretty much divide and conquer chores. If we think the other is stressed/overwhelmed, we do what we can so they don't feel that as much.
@carleym93 I am glad to hear about your appointment! I hope it continues to hold steady. @amm126 How old is your son and where did you get his mask? I need to get one for my 2-year-old to practice; they require it at daycare when she's 2.5. @savykay YAY for your SCH being gone! @hp242 Where are you sore? I've had some soreness in my hips from time to time.
Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: a banana
Upcoming appointments: Sept for anatomy scan
How are you feeling?: Can't complain. On the low BP train- for whatever reason big stores like Sam's and Costco make me feel like passing out. Asked my doc about it last kid and she said she for whatever reason it is a thing, probably something with low BP. Weird.
Rants/Raves: virtual school started this week for my older ones and the little is in preschool. For the first time since we moved in June I'm actually making progress on getting stuff done, which is nice. And yes, virtual is a lot of time on the iPad but their teachers are doing a wonderful job and they're enjoying so far the k goodness.
Questions:
GTKY: What's your favorite quality in your partner/about your relationship? He over researches everything- tedious but whenever we make a major purchase I feel like we're getting the right thing and a good deal.
Upcoming appointments: So many appointments Monday, AS, MFM and OB
How are you feeling?: pretty good. He’s moving so much, sometimes it hurts. He’s also really low and keeps hitting me behind the pelvis, my second did this often too. 😩
Rants/Raves: I feel like I’m balancing so much, between work and the kids and appointments and volunteer stuff. It’s just a lot right now.
Questions:
GTKY: What's your favorite quality in your partner/about your relationship?
oh this is hard, there’s so much. But since being parents it’s what an amazing dad he is. I used to travel A LOT for work, starting at 4 months PP with both of my girls. I missed them, but I never worried about leaving them. He is just as reliable, attentive and frankly way more patient than me. I never really realized it until someone asked me how I was able to travel so much, because I have an amazing partner. Thankfully those days are behind me this time around and I hardly travel for work anymore but he’s still an incredible dad.
Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: Pomegranate
Upcoming appointments: 9/2 is my anatomy scan
How are you feeling?: So far so good. Starting to get more aches. The body pillow has helped my hips a lot but I still made an appointment with a prenatal chiro and went to my first appt yesterday. I haven't seen a chiro since March so I figured it was time. Also getting a lot of headaches.
Rants/Raves: Kind makes ice cream bars now and they're low calorie/low carb but taste like a snickers. That's my new evening treat!
Questions:
GTKY: What's your favorite quality in your partner/about your relationship? His need to take care of everyone. He's very selfless and always puts other people first. He's really an amazing partner and does more than his share around the house. He's going to be a great dad.
Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: box of tissues
Upcoming appointments: 9/9 with OB and then anatomy scan on 9/14
How are you feeling?: overall pretty good. I ate some TJ's Elote corn chips (SO GOOD) on Tuesday and had awful heartburn the rest of the day. I only had tums and zantac (which is now recalled) in the house so I made a special trip out for some pepcid. Tums were not cutting it. I've been super hungry but nothing sounds good. I ate half a box of frosted flakes the other day.
Rants/Raves: I finally told work so that is a relief. Trying to get inspired for boy nursery stuff but I was much more excited last time about floral girly stuff. I'm thinking dino theme? Cloud island has some dino stuff and so does crate and barrel. Obviously this stuff doesn't matter but I was hoping it might help me feel a bit more connected. Ooohh and I think we might be getting closer on a name.
Questions:
GTKY: What's your favorite quality in your partner/about your relationship? My husband always makes me laugh. We don't have a very serious relationship and I used to think we were doing something wrong when my friends would talk about all the heart to hearts and feelings talks they would have with their partner but that's just not us. We're very connected but also love to joke around.
Interesting Baby Fact/Baby is the size of: axolotl
Upcoming appointments: telehealth next month
How are you feeling?: so-so. This pregnancy has been taking a more physical toll than the last one; lots of sharp RLP and muscular pain in the uterus itself. Also having some Braxton-Hicks contractions already. I’ve also been feeling really down emotionally, just sad a lot of the time.
Rants/Raves: Very grateful for the safe and friendly environment we have in this group! Also starting to have some ideas for how to convert our drab guest room into a more interesting-looking guest room-nursery combo.
Questions:
GTKY: What's your favorite quality in your partner/about your relationship? this is such a sweet question, and I’m loving all the responses! My husband is so kind, thoughtful, and giving. His standard reaction is to think of others first. Our kids are lucky to have him as a role model.
@lavenderclouds It is nice to learn that when you frame things a certain way your partner responds better! There are some things like that with my SO (and probably with me for him too), it's like figuring out a puzzle. @carleym93 yay for no cervical change! @briemo yay for a good anatomy scan! @aels12 Ugh I hope things calm down or at least even out at work soon! @oaktree6 I'm so sorry about your losses this year. I hope talking to your therapist is helpful! Therapy is such a great tool, it's great that you have one you can call when things are getting rough. @savykay Sorry about the nightly headaches but great news about your SCH! What a relief! @hp242 Grr that is annoying that the info didn't get transferred over to the new office. Glad you had normal readings all week tho, hopefully that stays!
Re: Weekly Check-in *** Week of 8/17
What a sweet question. The fact that he always wants to solve problems. At first, I didn't quite understand his approach to conflict, because I wanted more of an emotional, understanding response (typical female thing to want from a man). But I began to realize that he approached everything as a problem to be solved. So when I frame things this way and say I need his help and advice to solve X problem, he's quite a tremendous help, has great ideas, and there is a dramatic decrease in conflict.
