  • This thread is for anyone who has experienced loss at any point in pregnancy or experienced the loss of a child.

How far along are you?  10 weeks today!

How are you feeling (symptoms, mentally/emotionally)?  Much better - We have the HG under control with a few medications, and I have almost gained back the weight I lost - It looks like I'll be heading out of the first trimester pretty close to where I went in it, which given I started out overweight is PERFECT.  I gave up the fight and pulled out maternity clothes from my son this week and they all fit - so win!
I am finally feeling okay with this pregnancy from a PGAL standpoint. I felt my son move at 14 weeks, so I feel like I will have that reassurance within a few weeks. My losses were all early, within the first 7 weeks - so I think that is helping my mental state. The only time I've made it this far out of now 6 pregnancies - I have my son to show for it.
This website has also been really helpful.

Any upcoming appointments? Next week, I'll have my second appointment with the doctor. I've had a few with the nurse, and three ultrasounds too, so feeling much more taken care of this pregnancy. I know it's because of the complications / losses, but it's reassuring.

GTKY: What is your go to early pregnancy snack/morning sickness cure? Right now we are using zofran and pheneragan suppositories, plus oral. Also unisom and b6. And ginger. These drops are GREAT since they have both B6 and ginger.

How are you feeling (symptoms, mentally/emotionally)?
Physically, still just tired and grouchy
Mentally, slightly concerned that these are my only symptoms other than a missed period and a positive test since my loss was early, and with my other pregnancies I’ve had sore boobs and the nausea was starting to set in by now

    Any upcoming appointments?
    1st appointment is 6/23 - none yet

I really liked preggy pops, to be honest nothing really works for me. I learned with my girls that banana Cheerios were the least awful thing to puke. They don’t make those anymore.

@the_road_to_oz I’m pretty sure I had undiagnosed HG when I was pregnant with my girls- I puked my brains out all day for 10 weeks and lost a lot of weight (I am tall and thin so it wasn’t a good look).  When I got pregnant the last time I assumed the same would happen so I didn’t care what I ate because I figured I’d just puke and lose a bunch of weight again....and it didn’t go further than nausea. Oops. Luckily it came back off with a lot of post-partum pumping!  Hang in there - I feel for you.

How far along are you? 6 weeks 5 days

How are you feeling (symptoms, mentally/emotionally)? Nauseous off and on, fatigue, sore boobs and bloated. I've been working from home because my son's daycare isn't open yet and I feel like it's more draining than actually going to work

Any upcoming appointments? June 19th will be my first appt

GTKY: What is your go to early pregnancy snack/morning sickness cure? I don't have a go to snack, I just try to eat what sounds good and I think I can stomach and try to keep it somewhat nutritious.

How are you feeling (symptoms, mentally/emotionally)? Tired! Nausea comes and goes, it’s worst at night.

Any upcoming appointments? June 18th is my first

GTKY: What is your go to early pregnancy snack/morning sickness cure? I eat crackers and toast w/ peanut butter and applesauce when I’m feeling sick. So far no food aversions though, which is nice.
  • hi ladies, I'm a bit apprehensive to introduce myself but I know how supportive PGAL ladies can be so here goes.
This is my 5th pregnancy, I have no living children. My first 3 losses all happened under 7w5d and were natural. My 4th loss we knew something wasn't right by about 6w as baby wasn't showing very big and no heart beat with light spotting but docs kept trying to moniter until I finally had a d&c at almost 15 weeks. We gave up. We started the adoption process and are halfway through to getting a match. Then the pandemic hit and I lost track of watching my fertile window. Here's the thing, and I know some women hate to hear this but I get pregnant really easily, usually the 1st month of trying. But that by no means has been easy on me because docs have labelled me as 'super fertile' meaning my body accepts any old egg where as most women wouldn't fertilize the bad eggs so I end up miscarrying a lot. So now here I am again, pregnant. But I cannot wrap my head around it. I am convinced it's not going to work so I haven't been letting myself get attached. Even though everything has looked good so far. And here's the other kicker, I'm old. Like really old. So old that the doc said this will be a miracle baby. I'm 43. My friend's kids are starting to having babies. So that's me, hopefully I'll stick around and be able to celebrate with you all in January

How far along are you? 8w5d

How are you feeling (symptoms, mentally/emotionally)? very tired, have been battling nausea but started taking diclectin and that helps. Always hungry and when I eat it's almost orgasmic how good it feels to get food into me.

Any upcoming appointments? I've already had 2 u/s, both went great and I have a 3rd on June 17th. I also need to get genetic testing done right after my next u/s

GTKY: What is your go to early pregnancy snack/morning sickness cure? bananas. I definitely need to eat first thing in the morning, sometimes I even grab a banana and bring it back to bed with me.
  • @40momma all the things crossed that this is it and your next appointment goes great. I can’t imagine how hard it would be to go through that so many times. I am also a lover of bananas, pregnant or not. :)
  • @40momma it looks like all signs are pointing to this being a viable pregnancy for you! I totally understand being apprehensive about getting attached though, I think we’ve all been there.

How far along are you? 6w1d

How are you feeling (symptoms, mentally/emotionally)? So incredibly nauseous and tiiiiiired.

    Any upcoming appointments? July 1

GTKY: What is your go to early pregnancy snack/morning sickness cure? Shove something bland in my mouth as quickly as possible. There will be crackers on my nightstand for the foreseeable future.

Havent introduced myself on this thread here so I'll start with that... earlier this year I was part of the September 2020 group, but found out right as COVID was hitting my province hard that I'd had a MMC.  We found out at our 12 Ultrasound it stopped growing at 7W2D.  This was also our first US so totally unexpected.   I'm in Canada so I stick with my Family Doc for the first half and switch to an OB about half way and my regular doc has been on maternity leave since December so I bumped between a few doctors and no one really followed with what was going on. This time I'm sticking with one doctor for the first while and then I'll go to the next fill in my doc has scheduled some time in July.  So far its already been a WAY BETTER experience. I haven't been back to my workplace since March 12, had the 13th booked off for the US and then my office didn't open back up after that. WE have all been working from home for the past three months which was both great timing right when it happened - I didn't have to see anyone and could just be by myself, but also horrible timing because I haven't been able to get back to any normalcy.  It doesn't look like we are going to be back in the office any time soon either.

How far along are you?  7W1D

How are you feeling (symptoms, mentally/emotionally)?  Nervous an hungry.  I'm right around the timing of my loss so I'm basically a ball of nerves right now.

Any upcoming appointments? Yep, US today and follow up call on Wednesday.

GTKY: What is your go to early pregnancy snack/morning sickness cure?  Goldfish crackers!
  • Feeling so anxious and paranoid. I got myself a Doppler so that I could share the heatbeat with my girls and husband. I tried to find it tonight but only got my own so of course instead of thinking logically (That it is too early, my weight is impacting it) my brain has gone to the worst case scenario. My PGAL brain has been in overdrive too with the influx of losses lately. My heart hurts so bad for all these sweet ladies and I feel so worried I am going to join them again.

Anyone else struggle with this? Also I am putting the Doppler away until after my next appointment at 12 weeks.

@stillcozy I'm right there with you.

On Saturday we found out super early in the morning that DH's grandmother passed away, so the day started out super stressful and around 6pm I realized I hadn't noticed any of my usual symptoms all day so went into a panic because loss of symptoms.  Que a full on spiral about it being over again.  Nausea was back Sunday so clearly Saturday was just a crazy day and I probably didn't notice anything instead of my assumption that they were gone.

This first tri is passing so slowly and its not helping at all. :(
  • @hp242 I am so sorry for your families loss.

  • @stillcozy I've been really strict with myself with google searches (guaranteed to tell me I'm going to miscarry and die) and I even stopped myself from reading the Spotting thread on here. I want to reach out to those that may be struggling as I've been there many times, but I need to keep my head clear and my thoughts positive or else I'll spiral.
@hp242 Hello fellow Canadian, I'm on the west coast. I know how crazy the pgal brain can be and it sucks when we question why we aren't feeling nauseous, when really we should be thankful for the one day reprieve
  • aels12aels12 member
I’m also starting to get a little pgal crazy. My nausea has really subsided and I know it’s normal but I’m freaking myself out anyway. It’s going to be a long few weeks until my next appointment.
