We've settled on Lenora Mae as a name. We'll most likely call her Nora but I wouldn't be surprised if someone ends up calling her Lenny - which I wouldn't hate.
Oh I guess I never updated baby is actually a boy. Blood tested confirmed lol I guess 13 weeks was def too early to be telling me earlier he was a girl.
Now that I know we're having a boy I can only think of girl names...naturally. I never had a set "name" I really wanted, but always liked the name "Gregory" for a boy (normal, but also a family name and common for Ukrainians)...and then I went and married a guy whose last name is Gregory, so that's no longer an option.
Maybe I'll work on fun initials and work back from there...what are fun 3-letter words or acronyms that end in G? So far I've got: BUG, ARG
Aw BUG is so cute!
As silly as it sounds kids really pay attention to that kind of stuff when picking on other children 🙄 for me MJ (oh Michael Jackson/Michael Jordan ? Hurdur) so annoying 😂
Though I guess it's not as common for children to know full initials
We have a Langley Evan (boy) and an Ireigh Madison (pronounced eye-ree..girl) and this baby is a boy...we have put Ramsey on the table for consideration for his name. Thoughts? (be nice, I'm sensitive 😂)
We like unique names but not completely out of this world unique. We also give a less unique, but not common name for the middle name just in case our children decide they don't want to be unique (but I don't really see that happen so far).
@bkinn26 It's not really my style, but I would have a hard time with three names with long e in them. I feel like it would be more challenging to differentiate (accidentally saying the wrong name, them mishearing when you call, etc.) so I think I'd want something with different sounds. But style-wise I think it matches with your other two!
Bwahahaha! @shelmcclel@willashbaby@jchpg@laurenspdx 😂😂 I'm dying laughing and SO glad I asked because I never would have known! We've never watched Game of Thrones or anything that was mentioned 🙈🙈 we'll be moving on 😂 Thank you ladies!
Haha! @bkinn26 I’m glad you asked too! There are so many things to consider with names! Especially with so many tv shows now. It’s really too bad because it’d be a cool name if it wasn’t for the GoT baggage.
By the way, Ireigh is super pretty I like that a lot!
@bkinn26 we also like unique names. We have a madden, calla, and a Flynn right now and this one is a boy also. We are considering Dempsey, Edison, and Sullivan. Most likely going Edison.
@hham10 Oh Calla is such a pretty name! You made me think of Patrick Dempsey and now I need to re-watch Grey’s. I really, really like Edison and Sullivan! Sully as a nn sounds super cool guy.
@bkinn26 Ooh, I like Evan, might need to add that to our list! We're definitely on the "boring name" side, though now with so many unique names perhaps the boring ol' normal names aren't as normal?
Over the weekend my husband made a ratings sheet where we can list names and each give them ratings, which I guess he'll then average and set so that we can rank our collective favorites (when I last looked he was still figuring out the ratings system).
@akoros my husband did an excel sheet rating system when we named our daughter with the exact method you’re talking about and it’s cracking me up that someone else’s husband is doing the same!
Me: 30 DH: 31 Married: May 2008 DD Born: March 2018 DS Born: April 2019 Due with #3 December 2020!
Alright, I think we’ve settled on Beau Michael. Michael after my dad, Beau because we like it and it’s not too common.
DH vetoed the only other name I have suggested thus far, which was Brooks (anyone watch golf? If not, you should google and feast your eyes upon Brooks Koepka...hubba hubba).
@JBcakes08 haha This sounds like something my CPA husband would do too! He's a big fan of spreadsheets.
Now that we know it's a boy, narrowing down names seems less daunting. We have a girl Claire, so we think we want another C name. Would both kids having the same initials be weird? Claire's middle name is Marie, and we were thinking Michael for the boys middle name..but then if we went with another C first name, they'd both have the same initials...thoughts?

@bearmomma1 we know a family where all the kids have the same initials and it's kinda cute! We have 3 with the first initial B and I find it a little confusing sometimes, so we have said no more b names. We also said no more names that rhyme because 2 of our boys names rhyme and it gets confusing for them when we're calling one, they're never sure who I want. @cassafrass15 love Beau! That's our 2 year olds name!
@bearmomma1 We have a Clara Marie and a Charles Edward. (Our third is Vera Grace, so we didn’t continue with C, although I really liked the name Caroline!) We decided that the initials didn’t matter as long as we don’t monogram everything. Also, for us it did make a difference that although the first initials are the same, the sounds are different. For me, since each kid is an individual who will eventually have their own life separate from their siblings, I just don’t think initials matter as much as choosing the right name. I know not everyone will agree with me, but that’s what was right for us. If you really love a name then use it, and don’t worry about it!
@laurenspdx Oh Bowie is so cute!!! And also very cool because it evokes David Bowie who was incredibly cool.
@bearmomma1 I don’t think the kids having the same initials matters. Personally, I think initials really only matter if they spell out something other kids can poke fun at (I had a friend in elementary with the initials GAG), or if you’re super into monogramming.
Anyone just really have no idea on any names? Not even like a short list? I know we have time to figure it out but I have always had a name picked out at this point and I’m getting a feeling that we will just settle and not find the “right” name
@bartonolivia same. We've been throwing names around for a while and we found out we're more agreeable on girls names but for boy names we're stuck. We have a list of about 20 girls names we would consider, but we only have about 4 boy names we "don't hate" which isn't a great feeling. I'm hoping when we find out the gender on Monday and narrow it down it will start feeling more real and we can get more serious about it. I have a feeling if it's a boy I'm going to end up settling on our backup which is my husband's name but I always said I didn't want a Jr because I grew up with my brother and dad having the same name and it just seemed annoying for my mom lol!
Also, we know the middle name will be John if it's a boy and that pretty much eliminates any one syllable first names so that makes it harder.
@bartonolivia and @flip25. We haven't even started talking about it. It is making me a little nervous, but I think once we know the sex, that will help a lot. I have thought about some names for boys and we have received so MANY helpful suggestions (lol). Good luck to all of us!
Once we found out the sex with my others, it was so much easier. But we aren’t finding out at all this time and I have a feeling we won’t choose a name until after the baby is born lol
My H and I get in a fight almost every time we start talking names because he takes it personally if I don’t like 3 names in a row... 🙄 He wants a reason why I don’t like said names and then doesn’t find my reasons valid

@bearmomma1 My DH is the same way! I have been working on a very long list of names I like, and at some point I will give it to him, he’ll tell me that he likes none of them and then suggest something ridiculous as the only “reasonable” option. He will pick a fight about it when I don’t like it. A few weeks later he will come back and tell me he likes 5 or so names from my list, and we’ll go from there. It happens every time!
@readermom1 I’m hoping my husband will get to the point of saying he likes even 1 name from my list! So far he hates all of them and is stuck on his 1 name and only that name and I hate it. We haven’t even talked about names in like 6 weeks because we don’t get anywhere. A lot of guys we know who are already Dads have said if it comes down to it, they’ll explain to him that he does not get to pick a name that I don’t like, and he should just let me choose because his life will be a whole lot easier if he does that.
If it's a boy, Vincent Michael. If it's a girl, Catherine Elizabeth.
We may change our minds, but this is our plan as of now. My anatomy scan is next week, and our gender reveal (where we will actually find out) is Aug 2.
@shelmcclel my husband loves the name Damien. I'm not a fan, especially with our last name. He won't move past it-- although he did give me another name a few days ago so maybe we can permanently stick with it lol. I'm secretly hoping it's a girl so we can go with the girl name that we both have loved since before I was pregnant.
@bartonolivia Same! We didn't find out last time either, and just narrowed it down to a couple girl names and a couple boy names. We didn't end up settling on one until baby was almost three days old. It worked out fine though, and most likely we will do exactly the same this time!
We found out we are having a boy and DH was so excited he said in all honestly I feel like you should be the one to pick the name so he wants me to make a list and he will pick a few he likes from there and once baby is born we will pick from two or three we have narrowed down!
My fav name for a boy is jack! But DH always joked if we name our boy jack and have a girl we have to name her Jill (ps I don’t like the name Jill) lol so we shall see where things go from here!
Our top two contenders right now are James Michael or Christopher (middle name pending). DH is also considering having him be a Jr, but we haven’t fully decided.

Name is Mathias 😊

also cracking up that I wasn’t the only one who went there! Def most evil TV character everrrr @laurenspdx
By the way, Ireigh is super pretty I like that a lot!
ETA: We are really considering Flynn for the baby's middle name! It's so cute!
