HcG levels after miscarriage

Hi All, 

Can i have high HCG levels even after my first period after a miscarriage?

I had a missed miscarriage  and went thriugh a D and C on the 27th February and bled for few days. We decided to wait till i started my cycle again to try again and i started my period on the 1st April. We did have unprotected intercourse during the window and at 9dpo (today) im seeing a faint second line in a preg test. Iv being cramping alot too/mild nausea /fatigue. 

I wish i had monitored my hcg levels to zero when i had the miscarriage but i didnt. Is it possible im pregnant since my cycle started on the 1st April?

@momofababygirl I'm sorry for your loss. Yes, your hcg levels can take months to return to 0 after a MC. Yes, you can also be PG. If you had your follow-up with your doctor and they green-lighted you to start trying after your first AF, then you are probably ok. Oftentimes though you are benched 2-3 cycles before they want you to start trying.
You can call and ask for hcg betas now.  They should take them every 48 hours (approx) and if you are PG again they should double every 48 hours. If not, you'll be able to use these to track your hcg down to 0 to know when you can physically start trying again.
