  • Oooh, so I watched the first five episodes of LFE and got so frustrated with it that I stopped, but I haven't 100% decided if I'm done for good or going to finish it up now that it's over. Is it worth it for me to stick with it for three more episodes?

I haven't read the book, but I talked to a friend who just finished it and it sounds so different! The main thing that turned me off of the show is that I absolutely can not stand Kerry Washington's character, but it sounds like she's more sympathetic in the book. Her laying into Elena's older daughter right after she had the abortion was kind of the final straw for me, like I get that the girl is a brat but she's also a child who just went through a pretty traumatic medical experience so maybe just like... not the time, lady (haha).

  • @inthewoods23 Omg we have an inappropriate meme thread with a few of my friends/family members called That's What She Said and those would be perfect for our dark, twisted humor.  I may have to send those to the chat.  lol Also happy birthday!!!

  • @inthewoods23 HAPPY BIRTHDAY!!

@the_most_happy i would find it hard to stop and not just finish up the last episodes if you made it that far.  THe last two episodes cover so much material from the book tying up some loose ends.
and yes, i agree that the show made Mia a lot more harsh than the book did!

  • @inthewoods23 happy happy birthday to you!

  • @inthewoods23 🎉🎁Happy belated birthday!!!🎊🎈 I hope you had a great day!💝
  • I've had a glass and a half of wine, and I am now looking at designs for a tattoo (I don't have any...yet). :D A tiny elephant on my hip is cute, right?

@emeraldduchess It sounds adorable! Especially under the influence of wine.😊 A cautionary tale: I dreamed the other night that I was drinking champagne while getting ready for some fancy event. I was wearing a spaghetti strap silk dress with a low bias-cut back that was open on one side. It had a black-and-white zebra pattern down one side of the back, and I really wanted the other blank side to match, so I got a zebra pattern tattooed all down that side of my back! In the dream I woke up with a champagne hangover and a hugely regrettable zebra half-back tattoo. Prophetic dream, perhaps.😆
  • @keikilove that is hilarious! So many of my high school classmates got tattoos for their 18th birthday. The majority of them got a butterfly on the small of their back. I do wonder how many of them regret that particular choice now.
  • @emeraldduchess The butterfly on the small of the back is such a marker for our generation! I'm 36 and soooo many girls got those or similar lower back tattoos late in high school.
  • @emeraldduchess cautionary tale about small tattoos from a heavily tattooed person (this turned into a bit of a tattoo rant, so I put it in a spoiler)
They WILL blow out a bit. The amount they blow out will depend on- the machines your artist uses, the type of ink used and how it reacts to your skin, and how deep your tattoo artist tattoos you. If you're tattooed improperly it'll blow out more. Even if you're tattooed properly, you don't know how your skin will react to the ink. For my tattoos and the machines my artists have used, I usually see the size of the outlines roughly double by the time they're healed. This may not seem like a lot, but if you have a small tattoo with fine details, like the trunk of an elephant) you need to consider a small margin of error for ink spreading. Lots of people like the look of line work tattoos (just getting the outline of something), but you run a pretty high risk of parts of the line disappearing as it heals and needing to get frequent retouching. All of that being said, the smallest -I'd- ever recommend someone go with a small tattoo is around the size of a quarter or half dollar (25-30mm) which is still plenty small for a hip tattoo. Definitely do artist research and take recommended advice from the artist on placement and size for YOUR body.

  • @ashaislurking thank you! I appreciate the advice. I don't know if I will every get one (especially not in the near future) but it's good to know that they spread. I had no idea. I'll obviously do a LOT of research before I even decide!
