Not sure how many are left here but I wanted to post incase it can help.
I live in Florida with my husband and we have been VERY careful about social distancing/mask wearing etc because this is my first pregnancy so we just aren’t comfortable taking any risks. He unfortunately contracted Covid at work. His symptoms were body aches, cough, high fever (102), loss of taste, and exhaustion. We went to get tested right away. He tested positive and I tested negative. This was in late June and we have both tested negative since thankfully. He was really sick for about 4 days and completely symptom free after about 16 days.
Just some tips if you are living with someone who tests positive as I found it to be stressful. We immediately set ourselves up to sleep in separate bedrooms and use separate bathrooms. I disinfected our apt and did ALOT of laundry all with high heat. I had him steer clear of the kitchen and our food. One of us would eat at the dining table and the other at the coffee table. I was happy to play temporary maid and caretaker to stay healthy and safe. We live in close quarters but with 2 beds and 2 baths we were able to remain 6ft apart. If we happened to have to be in the same room, masks on. We did not stop this routine until he had a negative test.
Another tip is that the websites for getting appts for tests can be frustrating. If you go into the site at midnight, the availability is loaded for 3 days out and you’ll have your pick of a time.
@debc123 me and the boyfriend made a similar game plan when this all started, in the event that either of us got sick as we've both been continuing to go to work, at work. Our town hasn't had many cases but there's always a chance.
Glad we haven't had to isolate from each other but very good to hear that you were able to stay clear and healthy! And good news on your husband recovering without any complications!
