Hello all :) FTM here! EDD is 11/15. This pregnancy is the result of our second round of IVF. Have been terribly nauseous throughout. Hoping that changes soon. Currently 14 weeks. Babygirl is doing great!
I'm also a speech language pathologist. I'm in Illinois with my DH. I've been a Netflix-binge-queen lately. Also love true crime podcasts.
Just discovered these message boards. Very grateful!
Hi friends! FTM here. I'm 33 and live in Kentucky. My EDD is 11/22.
My husband and I both work for nonprofits and have been lucky to be able to keep working from home during this pandemic madness. I like to garden, cook, hike and hang out with my fur and feather babies (1 dog, 1 cat, 2 rabbits and 11 chickens! I know, its a lot). Really missing having social time and feeding my friends during this quarantine but also super nervous for things to start opening up.
After a mmc earlier this year i am super nervous all the time and so ready to be able to feel this little one moving around. Had a good 12 week scan so I'm trying to stay hopeful that I'll actually bring this baby home. My OB is a literal angel and has been stopping by my house weekly to do reassurance checks with her doppler because i know if i get one I'll either get obsessed or lose it if I can't find the heartbeat.
So thankful to have these support groups. I'm cheering us all on!
@hopefulmama123 welcome! That is awesome about your OB, she sounds super caring. And I understand the lots of animals thing, lol! I have 4 dogs and 4 cats, plus some fish tanks.
Hello! I'm a 34 yr old FTM from Texas. Due date is 11/15 like a few I've read above.
We are in a strange season in between jobs so not our ideal pick of timing but we are excited for this bright spot none the less!
I also have 3 fur babies I'm prepping for the new addition like I see several are.
I had a friend who had her second this past October and she had told me that I had to get on here and that she couldn't live without some the friendships she made here. Looking forward to getting to know everyone :)
This is a very overdue hello and introduction - I've been lurking since the beginning and finally got around to creating an account and actually logging back in
I'm Alex, I'm a FTM with an EDD 11/29. I'm in my mid-30s, live in Chicago, and work from (newly purchased and moved into while pregnant) home with a software company. 2020 has mostly been hot garbage but this journey to motherhood is certainly a bright spot!
I've already learned a bunch so far from you all and looking forward to more connections.
@thedeanza welcome! I agree I've been around for years and couldn't survive (esp my first year of motherhood) without the friendships I made in that BMB. Where in TX are you from, I'm just across the boarder in Louisiana (SW to be specific so, close to TX lol).
Hi ladies! I realized I never did an introduction on here, so I’ve only really interacted with my week 4+ group!
I’m 21, a FTM and located in the Chicagoland area. I have one year left of my undergrad and will be student teaching throughout my pregnancy! I’m due 11/30 and will only be taking 4 weeks for “mat/leave” because it overlaps with my winter break.
To make a super long story short, this pregnancy was unplanned to say the least. I was diagnosed with Celiacs and my intestinal damage has apparently prevented me from EVER absorbing my birth control 😅 The father and I were together for 4 yrs but are no longer together due to some domestic violence issues.
That being said, I have a lot to adjust to in the next few months and couldn’t be more thankful to be apart of such an amazing group! I’m looking forward to getting to know everyone better 😊

Welcome! Happy to have you here. What are you in school for?
Hi everyone, I am 18wks5days pregnant FTM.We have been TTC for 3 years. We are expecting a singleton but have not checked the baby’s gender because we are not ready and nervous at the same time. Hopefully we will man up soon. I hope to make mom friends here as this journey is new to us.
New to this whole forum thing for pregnancy, But I figured It might be fun since i enjoy other forums for other topics. ((Maybe triggering?)) Hello, All. I'm 25 weeks pregnant. My Fiance lives in another state so i am doing this mostly alone for now. Our little girl was Certainly a shocker, But We are overjoyed about meeting our little girl. She is also a surviving twin and This is a high risk pregnancy, My main idea of making this was because I may be put on bed rest soon- My doctor is hoping I can make it to term without delivering, However he is concerned about IUGR and we have plans in place for if she stops growing.
@elliemoo welcome! 😊 I was put on bed rest with my son around 34 weeks - my bump app (along with netflix) became my go to. It was nice talking to people in similar situations, and having a place to vent! Fingers crossed on making it to term!
Hi all! I know I am super late to joining the group, but I feel like my pregnancy is getting harder and harder and more high risk each week! I am overwhelmed!
I am a STM with a 3.5 yo daughter.
I will update my situation more in the MFM thread.
Hello, I'm a momma to two boys with my third boy being born late November. I'm pretty sure this is our last child but we'll see. I had a wonderful experience with a home birth with my second and I'm planning for another with our 3rd.
This year I've transitioned to beingVegetarian and may eventually transition to Vegan. Are there any other Vegetarian or Vegan mommas?
I've been struggling to stay active this pregnancy with Kidcare at the gym closed but I've been trying to wake up before my kids and do at home workouts. My sister is getting married a few months after number 3 is born and I'd prefer to not have as much baby weight as I had with previous pregnancies because I can't lose weight when breastfeeding.
@mikylee Hi and welcome! I'm looking forward to getting to know you! I think a home birth would be so relaxing and peaceful but I'm also not that brave, especially since this is my first! I hope everything works out for you and you get to stay home as you did your last baby!
@mikylee Welcome! I’m planning a home birth too! It’s my first child, and I’m looking forward to the experience. It’s nice to know there are other home birthers around here.
@csardaszz i wish desperately I had a home birth with my first; I thought it was completely bonkers back then. It's a completely different experience and much happier and much calmer experience. Have you looked into birthing classes? That is something I'd suggest big time either hypnobirthing or hypnobabies.
@mikylee I’m not really interested in classes, but I have been doing a lot of self-directed learning: reading books and watching birth videos, focusing on eating well, staying active, and addressing any niggling negative thoughts/fears. My closest friends and sibling did birth center or home births, and it wasn’t anything I questioned for myself. I know myself, and if I were to go to a hospital from the start it would be a disaster. I looked into hypnobirthing and came to the conclusion that more yoga, for me, was key. That includes mindfulness and visualization. I have an awesome midwife, a doula I vibe with, and a partner who supports me 1000%.
This is just my personal style. I know it won’t be easy, but I know I can do it. It’s what’s right for me.
@mikylee I am vegetarian/veganish say 😁 I eat no meat, very little dairy, fish once a week (before becoming pregnant I was ready to be done with fish, but have kept it for the protein/omegas while cooking this baby), and eggs from happy chickens 😂.
I don't know if I will every fully go vegan - but knowing me I probably will! I also do try to be a conscious consumer and only buy vegan friendly products, too.
@mikylee I am normally a vegetarian but actually started eating meat again during this pregnancy. I was craving it so much/so intensely during first tri that I figured it was my bodies way of telling me I wasn't getting enough protein, etc.
@bserena I totally get it. I had only gone vegetarian for about 2 months before we decided to get pregnant and I've been craving meat quite a bit, I've only given in once and then it didn't live up to my expectations. @teachingbp I'm slowly working to making things without dairy but I'm struggling cuz there really isn't a good substitute.
