IF Testing & Treatment w/o 3.2.20

Re: IF Testing & Treatment w/o 3.2.20

  • @keikilove my tsh was 3.3, so close to yours, although my RE only said she wanted it under 2.5 🤷🏾‍♀️. I’m hoping the 50mcg of synthroid will do the trick. How long did it take for yours to get to 1?

  • @kpearse99 welcome back, friend!! I’m so glad you had such a good time away and were able to just fully unplug! I hope these NTNP cycles are exactly what you need!! I hate that we are on opposite cycles too, but I’m so glad AF finally arrived for you!! Love what you said about YH, that is such a good feeling knowing that your family is always at the center of his mind!! 💜
  • @kpearse99 Welcome back! So glad to hear your mini-vacay was great, and that you are now able to kick off the next couple of cycles of NTNP. I hope it gives you all the calm & ease of stress that you’re looking for right now.💗

@manillabar Mine dropped to .81 within a month. I actually asked the doctor if I could take it every other day because I thought that drop was too low. Now we have to check T3 and T4 before adjusting the dose. Also, my hair is shedding like crazy because of it!! Handfuls everyday. Do you have that problem too? It’s the worst feeling: I am constantly being tickled by hair that’s fallen into my bra, my pants, stuck to my arms, my back, everywhere!!! Good thing I have a ton of hair or else I’d be freaking out!
  • @manillabar FX the synthroid does it job for you! I have had success with it!

@keikilove Yay for the insurance approval! And no surgery! Let the good news just keep coming!

@emeraldduchess Sorry to hear about the big fight. It is so hard to navigate the big decisions with all the emotions. I hope he can open up to you about what is holding him back.

@kpearse99 Welcome back and yay for AF! It sounds like this weekend was a nice getaway and a good reset! I hope the next two months are exactly what you need!
  • @keikilove oh good to know it dropped that quickly. My hair is braided (with extensions) right now so I haven't experienced the shedding yet, but I'm glad to know that so I won't be too shocked when I take the braids out lol

@kpearse99 Glad AF finally showed so that you could put that cycle behind you! It also sounds like you had a wonderful trip. I hope this time is just the resetting you need.

  • @kiki047 thanks for the input! RE didn't seem overly concerned when I asked, she said it was small, but it would definitely need to be removed before/if i need to pursue IVF. I think i am going to bring it up again though if this cycle ends up a bust.

@kpearse99 Welcome back dear! so glad you had a nice time away! you deserve it! i hope you were able to reset and get refreshed!

  • @keikilove and @manillabar double check with your REs about the hair loss. I didn’t even think to mention it to mine until a month or two in, and then she said there is another brand that is coated and helps prevent hair loss. I think one was levothyroxin and the other is synthroid. There is a third, but she said it is not approved during pregnancy and since that is the end goal she didn’t want to start me on it.
  • @manillabar It’s funny your hair happens to be in braids right now. I started wearing mine in braids two days ago because I just couldn’t take the shedding anymore. Really
hoping the meds do the trick for you ASAP!

@mvt2003 What a great follow-up appointment under the circumstances! YH’s perspective on it seems really positive & supportive. You both sound very resilient. FX your RE’s plan is perfect & that this next round is the last one!🤞🏽❤️

I am sorry that you and YH got into it bad this week :( that is definitely unneeded stress. I am also happy that he was able to see your side of things! it is a lot of money for these things, but it will be worth it in the end. :)

soo my cousin announced today that her and her new-ish boyfriend are expecting a little girl, she is apparently almost 22 weeks. It punched me in the gut as I was scrolling through Facebook this morning. I had such a roller coaster of emotions. It upsets me because shes 29, lives at home, barely works, and has an 8 year old whom she barely takes care of, her mother has him a majority of the time. this is all so frustrating to me. /endrant

@mvt2003. Right!  Trust your doctor, trust the process. ❤️ We didn't do pgs either, so we also knew that going in, there might be some trial and error, so to speak, and to brace ourselves for that.  Unfortunately, even PGS is not a guarantee of successful FET, either, kwim?

We briefly discussed the possibility of transferring our last two together, but tabled it for the time being, as our plan has just been to stick with eSET (elective single embryo transfer).  Not sure how old you are, but I was 34.5 or so at the time of retrieval, so the good news is even if I'm closer to 40 or more by the time we are nearing the end of our journey, those embies will be a good few years younger at least. 🤷 So we will have to weigh a LOT of various factors before opting to transfer two, and honestly I'm still leaning towards one at a time, even if we were to be OOP for it down the line.  Especially given cost wise, the natural FET protocol I'm sure costs significantly less than a medicated one.  I'm excited for you!!!
  • @mvt2003 we did the basic genetic screening as part of our loss panel. I think the consult is more likely to go over medical history and to explain the PGS process.
@abarr723 ooof, sorry about that gut-punch from your cousin. It's those kind of situations that can make IF that much more painful. Major hugs to you.
  • @abarr723 I’m so sorry for that announcement...sending hugs your way!! 💜 This process is hard enough as it is...but to see how easy it is for some people, just makes it that much more emotional on us!
  • @abarr723 my doctor said the healing is super fast (my polyps are all fairly small). And polyps can grow back fast, so removing them one or two cycle prior to IVF may be a good idea!

  • @emeraldduchess omg i know! I work at maternity hospital, and you have noooo ideal how many people have "surprise" pregnancies. It really blows my mind! Like its 2020, there are soooo many methods of prevention out there. and its even better when they didn't know they were pregnant and came to the hospital for severe stomach pain and suddenly were having a baby. Now, I've never been preggo before, but like at some point you'd feel it moving around inside of you! I just cant with some people.

I just got my results back from a retest of my AMH levels. I've had this done three times. In May it was 0.97, July it was 1.49, and now it's 0.69. I know less than 1 is DOR. I don't know what to think now. :( It was in the patient portal and my RE office is closed, so I can't get any info right now.
  • @emeraldduchess Sorry about those results, & that no one is there to discuss them with you. I had a similar situation recently & was feeling super bummed by the drop in my numbers. But everything I’ve read says it’s just a number—it really doesn’t matter too much when moving to IVF either. The most interesting thing I found was that, even though all the info says that AMH can be measured at any time in the cycle, AMH numbers will be higher before ovulation. Maybe this explains your number in July?
  • edited March 2020
@keikilove thank you. <3  I did read that AMH can fluctuate during a cycle. When they took my blood on Thursday, I was 9dpo. I don't remember where I was in July, but I *think* I was pre-O. I'm just so frustrated, but I *do* think they would have called me yesterday if there was a big concern. My RE thinks my issue is likely poor egg quality, not quantity. Though now it could be both? I've had lots of follies on all my monitoring scans with Letrozole so I am baffled. Now I'm just worried that we'll go through IVF and end up with zero embryos. We can only afford to do the PGS screening once because insurance doesn't cover it at all.

ETA: I looked at my monitoring bloodwork from last week and my LH and estrogen levels were crazy high. Like my LH went from 20-60 overnight when it usually hovers around 20. And one day my estrogen was over 800. What the heck? If this was a concern my RE would/should have said something on Thursday, right?
  • @emeraldduchess I am glad to hear you guys finally were able to vent it all out and decided to move forward with IVF! Sorry about your AMH number, but I’ve heard what you are hearing, it’s just a number. Hate that you have to wait to talk to someone about it, as the waiting is just as hard if not harder than the actual news. Hope the time flies this weekend, so you can get answers and move forward.

@mvt2003 Yay for AF having perfect timing as she rarely does. Will be keeping my fx crossed this cycle for you and that this embaby is the one destined to be your THB!

@abarr723 Sorry for the news and roller coaster of emotions that come with it! And that someone can go 9 months and not know blows my mind. I know it happens, just wow.
  • @emeraldduchess ugh, I am so sorry about those numbers. I do feel though that if there was an issue someone from the office would have contacted you!
