Today is ds1's bday. He's 4 and I can't believe it. I swear just yesterday I was at the dr and then went straight to the hospital have him. So crazy that little 35 weeker is now a precocious, smart, and opinionated kid. Seriously, where did the time go!?
Due to some events that have happened. I canceled my gender screening for friday and moved it to today at 2pm. So I should know in a few hours what this baby is for sure.
Anyone want to take any guesses? my dad and sister say boy. My husband, kids, stepmom, grandma, and my mom all say girl.
@wildrainbow aww I know that feeling yesterday was my sons 5th birthday and I just spent the day is disbelief that he was already 5.

Wow, it has been like a month since I posted on here; the last month has been so brutal. I was just finally starting to feel my awful morning sickness clearing on valentines day and THAT NIGHT I got a sore throat which turned into a respiratory virus (I have asthma so it was extra-hearty, even DH was laid out for a week and he normally gets over colds super quickly). I'm FINALLY starting to feel better this week.
Honestly the whole thing has gotten me kind of down. DH and I always agreed on 2 kids for sure, but I secretly wanted a few more than that (4 always seemed like a good number). There is no way I can justify having another after how sick I have been this time around. It's been hard with DD but I've been lucky that my mom has been able to watch her a few days a week and DH's work has allowed him some flexibility in his schedule. I just feel like it would be impossible with 2 and I would be crazy to put myself through this again. I keep feeling this weird sadness knowing that this baby is likely my last.
My doctors office just called and I was all excited because I thought they were calling with my NIPT results but it was just to schedule my 20 week AS. Apparently whoever told me the results would be back in a week was wrong and I should have been told 10-14 days. Grumble grumble.
Aaaaaannnd now I hear my cat throwing up somewhere.
Anyway, sorry for showing up and dumping all my angst, I'm hoping now that I've gotten this off my chest I can get back to participating like a normal human. DD's BMB had a Monday Bitchfest thread... I feel like I could use that sometimes, haha.
It’s really been my only symptom and it is lingering on. I had a Great sleep last night! I woke up tired and just exhausted by 1pm. I just want some energy, please!! I’m sure I’ll be in bed by 8:30 tonight. Hoping tomorrow is a better day *fx* I keep telling myself, 3 more weeks and you are half way there.
I feel like I’m slacking so much and I hate that feeling, yet also there isn’t much I can do about it.. is there? 😞
@hypermusic sorry you've been feeling so sick! hopefully things start to get better soon (and you get the NIPT results in soon!)
@charhar0820 fatigue was my only symptom as well and I still get pretty tired especially after long days!
I told myself I wouldn't get a doppler... but I can feel myself starting to crack. I have basically 4 weeks until my next appointment and this will be the longest I've gone without confirmation that things are ok. I feel like I've been pretty good about managing anxiety in my life, but this pregnancy has brought it out to another level and I should probably get a plan in place for postpartum. But for now I'm trying to convince myself that a doppler is a bad idea because I don't know what I'm doing (but then the devil on my shoulder tells me that at almost 14 weeks, I should be able to find the heartbeat pretty easily...) I wish just popping into the doctor's office once a week for a heartbeat check was a thing
@fitandnerdy I have a doppler and I am pretty adept at using it, but I will say that even at 15w baby still likes to hide from it. If you dont know what you're doing or even listening for, you could set yourself up for even more anxiety. I'm not trying to talk you out of it, just a gentle reminder that even at 14 weeks, they hide a lot more than they cooperate. If you do decide to get one, I will be happy to talk you through using it, etc.
@fitandnerdy I’ve been thinking about getting a doppler as well, just for peace of mind. I have a doctors appointment tomorrow and I’m hoping she will use her doppler. My last ultrasound was at 12w3d, almost 5 weeks ago! 😖 it’s been tough!
@hypermusic same! I always wanted 3 or 4. DH wanted 1 and done, 2 max. This is #2 and we are both saying never again. I’ve been so much more symptomatic than last pregnancy and basically relying on screen time to parent DD. She looks at me and says things like “Does your tummy hurt?” “Do you need this medicine?” “Why you so tired?” and it breaks my heart... but also completely melts it cause she’s so sweet and thoughtful.
@hypermusic It's so hard having that realization that this pregnancy/baby could be the last. I'm still processing some of that, too, and I guess I am at least grateful to know now that this is a strong possibility and have the chance to savor all the good parts. That's a hard thing to do when you're feeling so crummy, but I hope the worst passes soon.
He must be well endowed because as soon as the lady checked ahe instantly says "wow definitely boy parts,". So sneak peek was correct!
I'm excited to have another boy!
The nurse also said my placenta in anterior and thats why I'm not feeling him kick.

@psychobutthead congrats on your sweet boy! @wildrainbow happy bday to your LO! @hypermusic this will be my last pregnancy too I’m trying to soak it all in! I was worried I wouldn’t be able to do it again. We had always said 2 but Dh was pretty comfortable with just 1. It brought out some strange feelings for sure.
I had to have an awkward conversation with a co worker about boundaries and made him cry. I’m glad it’s done because it was stressing me out and i was majorly dreading it. He can be so socially awkward and he thought we were closer than we are. I hope things improve.
@psychobutthead Yayy! Congratulations on a beautiful little boy! 💙
@hypermusic I'm so sorry that you've had such a hard month. I hope everything gets a little easier on you and that your NIPT results come back quickly! Also, my cat always manages to throw up in the dead of night. Worst alarm clock ever. 😂
@charhar0820 The struggle is absolutely real. By dinnertime every day, I'm holding my eyes open with clothes pins. It's especially rough when my girl wakes up multiple times throughout the night, then is wide awake before the sun.
@fitandnerdy Based on how stressed you already are, I'm lovingly wondering if having the doppler at your disposal might make your anxiety worse. Do you think that you will stress more if you look for the heart and can't find it yourself, or even use the doppler more than necessary just because it's there? If you feel it will really mellow you out, by all means snag one - I just don't want it to be counterproductive for you!
I still have yet to pull mine out of the closet. I'm thinking it'll just remain there this pregnancy.
@psychobutthead congratulations on your boy! And happy birthday to your son!
@wildrainbow Happy birthday to your 4 year old! Did you/do you have a party planned for him?
@hypermusic I’m sorry it’s been so rough for you. Hope it gets easier for the rest of your pregnancy. I woke up to the sound of my cat puking this morning and then...couldn’t find the puke. That’ll be a nice surprise some day.
@charhar0820 I am right there with you with the exhaustion. I broke down and went a bit over the daily caffeine recommendations today because I just wasn’t able to function at work anymore.
Last night I had dinner with my parents, and my dad asked how people at work were reacting to my pregnancy announcement. I told him I hadn’t announced yet, and he said “Really? It’s really obvious.” Then I said I’d just been wearing my normal clothes so it’s not too obvious, and he was like “Are you wearing Spanx?”
Thanks, Dad! Pretty sure Spanx doesn’t cover up a baby.
@wildrainbow@lachnessmomster it would almost certainly cause more anxiety, which is why I'm trying to stay strong and hold off. It's just so long between appointments! I need to try to keep myself busy so I can't think about it too much and also keep reminding myself that I don't have any signs of things not being ok
@gomillis it's definitely more noticeable once you already know! I thought for sure my coworkers were starting to notice and I finally told one of them. She confirmed that no one has mentioned anything about it and that I don't look any bigger. Meanwhile, my friends who know have definitely noticed my growing bump.
@hypermusic Glad you're feeling better. Sorry about the cat puke. I heard my dog throwing up this morning and promptly pushed him off the bed. @gomillis I hope you find the cat puke soon. Lol
@wildrainbow happy birthday to your ds. My youngest will be 4 next month. Birthdays start getting tougher for me starting at 4. My oldest will be 7 two months after the baby is born and nope, its not ok.
@psychobutthead congratulations on your baby boy! My gender scan is next Thursday and I really, REALLY want to move it up! I may call back tomorrow and see if anything else opens up.
@jwhite3116 you should totally call and see if theres any openings.
@gomillis omg dads always have the best lines to troll their kids i swear 😆

I went to bed with a sore throat last night and I woke up to full on sinus drainage hot mess runny nose grossness. I'm having flash backs to getting the flu in December but I'm not nearly as exhausted as I was then. I'm hoping this is just a gross head cold caught from being in public around a lot of people recently.
hypermusic sorry that this pregnancy has been so rough on you. I don't know your DD's age or yours, but could you wait a few more years till they are older so they are a little more independent before trying for baby number three? fitandnerdy devil's advocate, my doctor had a problem finding his heartbeat at my 15/16 week appointment and had to pull out the ultrasound machine to find it. @psychobutthead congrats on having another boy!! @gomillis I have no words for your dad. Sorry he said that to you.

I mostly held off on looking at the 2nd Trimester board until I was actually in 2nd tri (because I don't know - I'm a weirdo, I guess), but have done some browsing over there the past couple of days. Man. It is like the wild west. Every other post is, "Am I having a girl!?" and some of the questions are just.....wow. I'm speechless. 😳
@fitandnerdy I've actually been thinking of a doppler lately, but I know with my anxiety it's a bad idea for me. I would freak out and stress if I couldn't find the HB right away, which I know is not easy and I just don't need additional stress in my already worried mind.
@hypermusic I'm sorry you are been feeling so crappy!! I hope you are on the upswing now!
@psychobutthead Happy belated bday for your son!! And a big congratulations on your baby boy!!!
@roo_baby OMG my heart is completely melted at how sweet YD is! I hope you are feeling better too!!
@gomillis Wow, sorry your dad said that, how rude! I'm surprised your dad knows about Spanx! lol...
@RedBaramid Oh no! I hope it's just a quick cold and you feel better soon!
@lachnessmomster OMG, I hadn't looked at second tri either until yesterday (bc I'm sooo close already!) and I noticed that too.. I'm like jeez... how in the world would be know?!
@charhar0820 The fatigue is for real!! Nausea has subsided most days but the pure exhaustion is still lingering. I should have gotten 8.5 hrs of sleep last night, but this tossing/turning crap is not allowing for restful sleep, piled with the utterly bizarre dreams... will I ever have energy again?!
On that note... I had a dream the other night that my womb wasn't big enough for baby girl and she started developing outside/into my body. Her ear was next to my vagina... I can still close my eyes and see this it was so freaking real and weird!! And in my bump you could see a raised outline of the baby. Utterly bizarre...

@lachnessmomster When I came around the bump in 2014 I very quickly limited myself to my own BMB because the other boards seemed super volatile and messy... glad to see nothing's changed?
(No offense to anyone or any other communities, I was just very overwhelmed and my quick glace does not honestly speak for all communities. I do think you ladies are all super wonderful and overall amazingly positive despite some of the mountains some of us are climbing.)
@roo_baby Your LO sounds like she has such a sweet heart. I am calling it quits after this pregnancy too because it's been harder this time around. My first was a breeze. We always said 2, maybe 3 but not now. Don't be too hard on yourself and the screen time. We all do it when we need to!
@charhar0820 Yes to the fatigue. I fall asleep putting my daughter to be every night by 8PM. I thought that was subsiding but now I'm back to sleeping all the time.
Anyone that may recall I had a porch pirate steal a pregnancy pillowcase from me. Just a little update: your girl got subpoenaed! For a $30 pillowcase! They're having a jury trial So I show up this morning and they tell me he never showed up for pre-trial and now there is a warrant out for his arrest and I can go home. SO. ANNOYED. Couldn't have let me know before I miss time at work and waste my morning driving here? No? OK, cool.
I haven't checked in in a while. I was in denial/superstitious that this pregnancy was going to stick, especially after all my bleeding early on (which they still don't know what from) and my previous loss. Made it to almost 14w (tomorrow) and all the NIPT testing came back low risk, which given my age, I was REALLY worried about and we found out we're having a baby girl . I finally feel like I can breath, relax, and try to actually enjoy this ride a little.
My life this week in random thoughts:
1. I applied for a job internally that will have us moving 3000+ miles away, which I'm likely to get- just waiting to hear. I feel crazy for contemplating this while pregnant, but the timing was never going to be right anyway, so might as well leap!
2. I am not sleeping well unless I take unisom, but then I have guilt for taking unisom nearly every night to get a full night of sleep, its a viscous cycle!
3. Now that we know it's a girl, we have picked a name. Not 100% certain, but we both really like it and we're testing it out daily now, and its really growing on me. I felt bad my husband didn't get his boy, so I let his choice rise to the top. Kymber Anne
4. My sex drive is crazy high right now, my poor husband can't keep up! LOL
5. Now that I'm out of the first trimester, I feel like the sickness fog has lifted, and I am way more productive at work and home!
@kgrgreen OMG what?! I can't believe they subpoenaed you in the first place! Sorry you wasted your morning. BTW what pg pillow do you use? I'm shopping around and interested in what other preggos are liking lol.

@fitandnerdy
I have a doppler and I'm 14w tomorrow- I can't find a heartbeat still..
I'm sure its user error combined with the fact that I'm a lovely plus
size shape and have some extra padding to work around! I try not to give
myself anxiety but I still wish it was easier! The you tube videos make
it look so easy!
@unikittymom Kymber Adorable! I don't know any Kymber's. That is so unique.
@ziggymama06 I use the Snoogle and I'm happy with it. No complaints! The c-shape support let's me shift pressure onto my back some so I don't have to strictly be a side-sleeper (which hurts my hips now).
@blackgirlmagic@unikittymom I see posts from people claiming to hear it at like 9-10w and it makes it seem so simple! I am definitely going to try to keep staying away 3.5 weeks will fly by until my next appointment.. right?
@BusinessWife No, not even the pillow! Which kind of makes me laugh... the disappointment he had opening the package to find this empty, long, oddly shaped piece of material. Then I imagine him doing this because how else could you use it? :
I got a call from my OB office today. I tested negative for all the right things... everything looked good except my liver enzymes. The lady on the phone told me they were referring me to a gastroenterologist. I asked how soon I should be seen and she told me "well, everything else looks fine right now, but I wouldn't wait around too long." She then told me immediately their concern was pre-e but that I wasn't really far enough into my pregnancy for it to be that especially with how beautiful my blood pressures had been in office. I panicked and called my mom (she's a nurse) and so WORST case scenario, she thinks it's my gallbladder, and that since I lost so much weight last year and am now pregnant that it might be struggling and it might need removed... best case scenario my body is still processing the HUGE amount of Tylenol I was taking when I had the flu and then an ear infection and ruptured ear drum and that in a couple more weeks my levels will look more normal.
Regardless, all I see is the fact that my health insurance won't kick in until mid June and this cannot wait that long. I can hear my husband losing his mind about how much this is going to cost. I know there are programs for people who need to self pay.. I'm just.. so stressed out. Despite the head cold I was so excited today, I got my free "Welcome Baby" box from Amazon today and I opened it with DD and her whole face lit up and it was exciting. I'm just feeling about as stressed as it gets right now.
I admit I do lurk on some of the other BMG boards b/c I find some of the threads informative, but the more active ones are about to go private soon and I'm a little bummed to miss out on the extra wisdom. Hard to believe our group aren't the newest kids around any more!
@redbaramid Yay for your negative results. Hoping it's just too early for them to know about your liver levels for sure given all the medications you had to take. Is the Welcome Box from Amazon for completing your registry??
@kgrgreen@rivercitynik Thank you girls for the recs! I'm torn on what to get!! The snoogle looks comfy and I am a back and side sleeper so I like that I could lean on it, but I sleep with a body pillow now and hug it so I'd need the even bigger one to be able to hug too... Not sure where MH would fit on the bed given we have a queen now (getting a king size mattress once we move). I like the idea of the bbhugme bc it's similar to the body pillow I sleep with now, just a bit thicker. I guess I'll hafta take the plunge and hope I like it!!
@rivercitynik I lurk the other BMBs too sometimes and follow their product recs too. BTW I'm so jealous of how organized you are with all of the products you already want! I'm still so lost and feel overwhelmed. Good for you girl!

@rivercitynik I lurk the other BMBs too sometimes and follow their product recs too. BTW I'm so jealous of how organized you are with all of the products you already want! I'm still so lost and feel overwhelmed. Good for you girl!
