Can you guys tell me if this will totally not go together or be stupid? Please be honest haha, any suggestions welcome. I can't figure out how it would all look together. So for some context, we just have 2 bd, so the "nursery" will basically just be the guest bed and then her crib. We'll put a dresser/changing table and chair in our bedroom and I'm not overly concerned with how that'll look. The guest bedframe is super dark brown, essentially black, and the duvet is this in gray
This framed above the bed (haven't decided what color frame, I like how it looks framed in black and that could maybe tie with the bedframe? But I don't know if that's too dark for a nursery/above the crib)
We're not doing a new nursery for this one (sorry kid), but instead we're keeping it the same as we did for DD and moving her to another room. Perk of team green and a neutral nursery! So this is what the nursery looks like:
I've been starting to think of what to do for DD's new room, and I think I found some prints on etsy that I like and will just pull the colors from those for other parts of her room. Prints are in the bottom half of this spoiler. I did just buy both of those sheets this weekend (she's staying in the crib, so I'm not going all out with bedding sets or anything). I haven't sold MH on the chair yet, but I think it's so fun! And we read to her every night so we need somewhere to sit since the glider is staying in the nursery.
@b_1029 disclaimer: I don't have a great eye for interior design, so I'll just let you know that from the start. I think what you have is cute though and will go together just fine! I think the prints in black frames would look okay above the crib since they're mostly white, which will tie into the white crib. But again, I'm not great at this stuff. haha hopefully someone else will chime in with something helpful for you!
@stlbuckeye132 aww I love your nursery, it's so calming to me. Plus elephants are my favorite thing in the world! I love that color chair for YD with those bright prints.
@stlbuckeye132 Love both the nursery and your ideas for your DD's room! So bright and perfect for a little girl!!
@b_1029 for the crib sheet, I wonder if this one would look better b/c of the gray.... or maybe it would be too gray? Either way, I think everything will look fine. The only thing that made me wonder is that the centers of those flowers on the one you linked are brown and I wonder if it'll look right with all the gray.
I almost think you don't even need the rug. Not that it's bad, just that everything will tie together just fine without it.
After my appt this AM, I'm feeling a little panicked... like we need to get this done quickly! So, here's some stuff I figured out this weekend. Tell me if you hate it... I'd rather know something looks like garbage now, before we're committed
We have this nursery set (don't tell me you hate this... I'm not taking it back )
And I'm thinking of doing little accents all around, like some of the stuff here.. most will likely be over the dresser that we'll use as a changing table. I definitely want a "something tells me I am going to love him forever" framed piece and really like the string of wooden beads with tassels on the ends. Also the magnolia wreath is cute. We'll likely also do a cream or white glider/recliner
@b_1029 I like the brighter colors too. I bet it'll look good!! And, hey, if it doesn't... .it's a crib sheet. You can totally order something else and have it delivered within a day or two
@b_1029 I like how that all looks. That crib sheet is beautiful! FWIW I don't think the little bit of brown will be a problem. My only issue would be not knowing just how ivory the rug is. It could look dirty near the white stuff. I'd personally lean towards the gray or even the dark gray rug. I think the prints would look good with black frames, but gray could work or even a brighter color.
I think it would also be nice to add a decorative sham and/or throw pillows to the guest bed - white, gray and/or any of the colors from the crib bedding. Not that it needs to all match match, they can be clearly separate areas, but for a little visual flow around the room. And I have now online shopped Bed Bath & Beyond for your room for too long lol, so I'm thinking something like one or more of these:
@stlbuckeye132 That's all so cute! Love those prints above the crib. I'm thinking of getting something like that to replace what we have above the changing table right now. We live in earthquake country so I don't hang anything heavy/potentially sharp above the crib!
@blaf322 Looks good! I really like that paint color - but even just in her photos it looks very different from one to the next, so I'm sure you know this but be sure to try a sample! I've used grays that turn SO different in different places, like way beyond what I'd expected. The safari animal prints are adorable. Again, considering something similar to add to our nursery. And that hamper is super fun. The Pinterest link won't open for me, but what you said about it I like!

@treeofcheem well you are my new favorite person and I’m hiring you as my interior decorator 😂 great idea about the guest bed pillows. I can definitely see what you mean about the ivory under a white crib. We haven’t committed to a white crib by any means (I was even thinking maybe a light gray- idk) but I don’t want it to be crazy dark like the bedframe. It’s the “Black brown” stain from IKEA. Ughhhh why is this so hard!
Eta I was also thinking of the slate blue rug instead even though that doesn’t tie to anything crib wise- it’s just not so white and I have a weird obsession with gray and navy/blue together haha, aka what our master is.
@treeofcheem we have samples up on the wall now! We had sooo many issues with paint looking a totally different color in DD’s room in our old house. It almost caused a divorce with all the money I spent on samples 😂
Oooh I love this thread!!! All of your stuff looks so cute, @stlbuckeye132 your nursery could be in a magazine 😍
Our idea for nursery is based around the idea of whales. We're team green but it will definitely have it's share of blues - which is my fave color so I don't care. It's sort of based on a piece of art my uncle made that we have in the room already:
We've decided on this dresser & crib:
The room has off-white paint and brown (wood) trim which we can't paint because we rent; and also a like espresso-colored dresser that we won't be moving. I'm looking for a gray rocker/glider and a rug to cover as much of the floors as possible, which ideally would be gray and baby blue and white - I'm with you on loving that color combo @b_1029 ! If we end up being thoughtful enough to have an accent color, it'll probably be yellow.
Some other fun things I registered for within the whale/ocean theme:
Ahh, so many pretty nursery ideas! I’m living vicariously through everyone, as this baby won’t be getting his own nursery. He has to share a room with DH home office 🤷🏼♀️.
@mehugg I love the whales! My only advice is about the hamper. We had a plain gray one in that same wooden frame and it did not hold up and broke multiple times. The stupid poles across the bottom kept popping out, even after we attempted to fix w/Gorilla Glue. I recommend something sturdier!
Mine is like a nursery fail right now but we are doing a starwars theme in our nursery. The grey walls we are painting white and the blue wall will stay that color.
These are all so cute! Love seeing nursery pictures!
We have the same furniture as we did with DD1 and DD2 and I kept most of the same decor DD2 had in there since she’s now in big sisters room with her. My mom sent the bedding from amazon and I got the mobile from there as well. The only other thing I picked up is the little round rug/mat thing from Marshall’s. There are 2 dressers. On is next to the mat on that wall across from the crib (it’s a longer one that comes down on one part for a changing table pad) and the other one is on the wall to the right by the closet.
I don't have pics but I'm coming here for inspo since we are moving in April and I'll be setting up DD's room and the nursery then. The current owners actually have one room set up as a nursery and the walls are painted like a giraffe print. Which sounds like it could be cute, but it's... not. It makes the room look so dark so I'm definitely planning on getting it painted. Now, what color to choose...
We’re doing an outdoors adventure type theme. This was what my inspiration is based off of. But we already have tan walls with a dark blue accent wall) was supposed to be gray when it was put in another room). So I plan on just building mountains into the blue wall then carrying the tan on the top.
One of my siblings bought these for some decor. Then once we know the gender I’m hoping to add more of the corresponding color in a cute rug, pillow/blanket for the chair, Sheets. And other wall decor. (Realizing making this a more girly nursery will be a bit more tough, but I’m okay keeping it more neutral)
We bought/Or was gifted these for our big furniture. My sister has the same recliner in a different color and I fell in love with it during my 3am snuggle sessions with my niece
for painting the walls, im thinking a lighter sage green type color, or possibly being brave and going dark green....what do yall think?
and then decorations/accents like these (i for sure want the mobile, but everything else is just to get ideas):

Thanks for the tip @kristinl492! Removing that from my registry ASAP
@nursejenn5 I love that!!! Pink isn't the only way to insert girl into the nursery! Why do boys get so many more "themes"?
@knockupthestock that set of bunny/flower prints is the cutest thing I've seen all day. For the paint, would you be interested in trying 3 light green walls and one darker green accent wall?
Well our nursery project just became two nursery projects, because we are moving!! And we are going to have to do a bit of shuffling because DD will still need some of the “baby” stuff even when brother gets here. But for now the plan is DD is getting a beach themed room. She loves the water so much, it is amazing. She will keep the crib for now, which is white. Her dresser is a darker wood and I can’t decide if I want to give that to brother and get her a new one that matches the eventual big girl bed she will get (I have antique twin bed frames that have been in my family over 100 years, they were in my room as a kid and will go to DD now). I also can’t decide if I want to keep her glider in her room or just put a chair or beanbag in her room. Definitely a sitting place so we can still cuddle. I wish our glider reclined, so I may splurge for a new one and keep the one I have with her. He’s not getting much new, so I feel like I can justify buying a nice glider.
Little bro is getting the same nature theme nursery that DD has now (all our infant stuff is nature and gender neutral, we did fox accent for DD and will probably do bear accent for bro). He won’t have a crib until DD grows out of it, he’ll be with us for a while anyways and I’ll put a pnp in his room for naps. All the furniture from DD’s room that I can’t make fit in the new beach room will go to little bro and then I’ll fill in his room as needed.
Here is the mural I painted on DD’s wall that I will paint for little bro.
I will also use the blue and gray paint that is in this mural to make her beach mural so the colors go together. So even though different themes, they will still be cohesive. Their rooms are right next to one another at the end of a hallway.
@knockupthestock love all the florals! Florals are the one “girly” thing I wish I could do, but this is DS #2. My tastes run more neutral in general, but man, I love a good floral!
@mehugg definitely pink wouldn’t be the only girly color we add for a girl. But I’m not about to lie and say I don’t personally really love pink and all shades of pink 😂🤷🏻♀️
@kristinl492 thanks!! im not really into pink, but im loving the dusty rose/ballerina pink florals that are trendy now. DH and I used dusty rose and sage green as our wedding colors, so this is kind of using that same theme but for our baby girl
@mehugg that's not a bad idea! the only thing is the room that will be our nursery is a funky layout so im not sure how itll work (see spoiler). we've tossed around the idea of an accent wall though! its just funky with those slanted ceilings.

@knockupthestock I really like a light sage green for that room, so long as you keep your other accents light too! I love all the stuff you've picked out!!
@knockupthestock we painted DD's room a light sage green and I LOVE it. So much so that I may take the remaining paint and have her room at the new house painted that color. We did that color on all the walls (I have no design sense so can't comment on the accent wall lol), and white furniture similar to what you chose, and a neutral gray glider and a white puffy ottoman. I love the area rug in her room (hardwood floors) but the house we are moving to has all carpet upstairs. Can't wait to see yours come together!
@knockupthestock I love how dainty and sweet everything you have picked out is! Perfect for a sweet baby girl. Re: paint color, I think a lighter sage would be beautiful! I would be hesitant to do anything dark because it can make rooms feel smaller.
@knockupthestock I really like the light sage color, green is my favorite color. What is the light source in the room? A darker accent wall could look really nice if it’s a bright room, but otherwise I think I’d just stick with the light colors. You don’t often have the lights on in baby’s room, so they tend to be dark anyways.
thanks everyone!! i appreciate the feedback @kc0711 there is just a large door with windows for natural light and a few lamps, so it will be fairly dark i guess. good thinking!

The nursery is also office/guest room. We'll be adding a crib and changing table. Still weighing if the daybed in there (extends to king) has to come out. Removing a credenza to make more room. It's already pretty bright colors quilt wall hanging is frame from MIL. (mauvish rainbow), colorful art.
Crib is ordered and will be expresso in tone. My wife hates themes so there will a cute set of bookends and a night light and that's probably about as themed as it will get.
Re: Nursery Thread!
Sooo anyway. My current idea is a white crib, with this sheet
This ruffle "bedskirt"
This framed above the bed (haven't decided what color frame, I like how it looks framed in black and that could maybe tie with the bedframe? But I don't know if that's too dark for a nursery/above the crib)
And this rug that'll go between the crib and bed as an attempt to tie things together somewhat.
ETA - I hope all these links work, I copied off our registry lol

I think we're going to go with this paint color, but lightened up quite a bit b/c the room is small and the furniture is so dark
I ordered these prints, but could return them if needed. They'll either go over the crib or the dresser.... likely the crib
Half considering this clothes hamper (or the white one that's $30 cheaper right now lol)
And I'm thinking of doing little accents all around, like some of the stuff here.. most will likely be over the dresser that we'll use as a changing table. It's so fun to see everyone's nursery designs!!
This is what we have so far. We don't have a set theme but the vibe we are going for is a mix of natural, mid-century mod, boho, and nature...? IDK.
Crib (baby letto lolly)/accent wall color (behr-vine green).
This is the chair going in there - that we already have - from Ikea (strandmon)
The light fixture we are thinking about putting in - also from Ikea (sinnerlig)
I don't have a picture of it, but we have an old mid-century low boy that we are using as a dresser/changing table.
I'd like to get a pouf for the chair, as well as a side table, rug, and maybe some shelving to put in there.
