@mdfarmchick I’m going to hold off a day or two in case this is also the stomach bug. I didn’t have it quite this bad with my other two pregnancies so I’m really hoping/thinking it may not be as brutal in a few days.
Seriously. Eat all the things. So far today I have had:
my coffee w/milk and sugar (2/3 decaf, 1/3 regular. Bah.) a banana 2 mandarin oranges a coconut cream yogurt (Trader Joe's is my god) 1/4 cup of coconut cashews (TJ again) 1/4 cup of trail mix (various nuts, dried cranberries, and dark chocolate chips) a southwest salad (Trader Joe's again) a pasta carbonara TV dinner 1/2 cup of walnuts 9 Triple Ginger cookies (TJ...there is a theme) a handful of baby carrots an apple
And I'm probably missing some other small graze items. Currently getting ready to send the boy off for some Del Taco (BOGO chicken burrito platters and a chocolate/strawberry shake).
Current pregnancy - First BFP on 1/4/22. Due date 9/13/22.
Four prior losses, no living children - 1 first trimester miscarriage, 1 blighted ovum, 1 chemical, and one extreme premature live birth daughter who died at 15 days old.
Stopped drinking coffee nearly two weeks ago I transitioned to decaf long before we got our BFP and I generally love coffee, so not having any for so long is always my gauge on being sick.
As far as cravings... Chocolate chip cookies were huge for a few weeks, then potato tacos I ate for breakfast, lunch, and dinner for a week straight (the thought of those makes me so sick now), and now FAST FOOD. I had Chick Fil A and McDonalds (McGriddle, drool) over the weekend and I rarely ever eat fast food. Nothing healthy sounds good to me, so I'm just trying to role with it for now.
@mckjacks I'm right there with you. I tend to eat pretty healthy, but all I can think about right now is a sausage McMuffin. It's been three days in a row now, and I have resisted the temptation, but oh man it's getting bad. If I can hold out until Friday, I'll be amazed.
Oh, and fried chicken. There's a grocery store here that serves bangin' fried chicken at their deli counter. You can smell it in the parking lot. If only they made, like, a cajun or spicy version, that would be ideal.
I suppose this puts me in the "I can't stand the smell of my own cooking camp" lol, because I had cereal for dinner last night.
Fast food, yes. I have a craving for a McDonald's cheeseburger.
Also, I usually make a latte at home but the last week or so it has sounded horrible, so no more. I never thought I'd actually have an aversion to coffee!
Nothing sounds good, for lunch I ate a can of pineapple chunks and spicy nacho Doritos. The only thing that sounds good is frozen custard. I don’t want to leave the house, I’m tired and don’t want to dress myself or mini. 😩
McDonalds sounds so good right now. DH agreed to cook dinner so he’s making quesadillas and fideo. Today is my first full day with no coffee. Struggling a little bit, but way better than in the past.
It absolutely killed me to have it in the slow cooker, and I couldn't eat it for a day afterwards without vomiting, but slow cooker fajita chicken made into taco salads is amazing right now 🤤
Hopefully this description doesn't make anyone else nauseous, but I just ate a bunch of honey mustard pretzels. They sounded good at the time, but now I can't get the taste out of my mouth, it's terrible, and I'm so nauseated!
Thank goodness my nausea and throwing up took a time out today! I found the sargento snack pack things (in spoiler) make a tasty little treat. Also had school lunch grill cheese with sweet potato fries and that set well on my stomach.
@mdfarmchick Be nice to yourself. First tri is all about survival when it comes to food. You can focus on cleaner eating when you feel human(ish) again.

This has been my mantra these past few weeks. Like, I ate healthy before, and I'll eat healthy again because I quite enjoy it, but for now I'm just surviving. And that's okay.
Also, those Sargento snack packs are a godsend. Just enough amount of food to tide me over without making me feel like crap. I usually have one when I get home from work.
Thankfully morning sickness has not reared its ugly head yet (W5D1) so I am still eating. However I was on a 1200 cal per day, only eating 12-8pm diet before conceiving so eating 1800 and all day is so weird for me. But yummy!
Breakfast is Bob's oatmeal. I chop up a whole banana and toss it in with the oatmeal and hemp/flax/chia medley right away. Then when it's almost done I add a whole egg and just stir it in, making sure its fully cooked and integrated. Then a buttload of cinnamon. I top this with blueberries and greek yogurt, ends up being about 400cal and tons of fiber, protein, calcium, and whatever magic blueberries are supposed to have.
For a snack I mow down an entire grapefruit with no sugar, which may be my first craving. I can't wait to eat this every day.
By the time lunch rolls around I am craving veg so I microwave one of those seeds of change quinoa mixes and dump half in a bowl, then throw handfuls of spinach at it till it's the proper size. Then I'll top with some kind of protein like rotisserie chicken or black beans. I may go crazy and try this with lentils.
Afternoon snack usually is a few pieces of cheese. Or cottage cheese. Maybe some townhouse crackers. With some sugar snap peas for extra veg.
Dinner last night was slow cooker chicken tacos. I took a tall jar of salsa and dumped it in to the pot with a packet of taco seasoning. Then gingerly added 3 raw chicken breasts holding them far away from me with tongs as if they might bite me. And half a can of black beans. Served with tortilla and avocado and more spinach and some cheddar cheese.
For dessert an outshine mango bar.
And I was hungry again at midnight but it seemed rediculous to eat more so I went to sleep instead
Anything cold and fresh (like fruit or raw veggies) sounds good. Also wanted caprese and toasted bread (and I don’t normally like tomatoes). And I’m making banana pudding because I saw someone making it and it sounded good.
And the most random, nachos. But not even good nachos. I just want refried beans (which I don’t normally like) and cheese and it broiled in the oven 🤷🏻♀️
There is a retirement party at work today, so I am eating a bunch of carbs I will pay for later. Pizza and biscuit with gravy.

It’s not too bad now but I know come summer time I will be seriously missing a nice cold beer. Any suggestions for decent 0% beers? I’ve tried a few but most are way too sweet. Becks is alright but would like some other options if possible!
@angela444 I feel ya on the beer! I’m already sad about missing out on all the backyard beers with the neighbors this summer. I usually make micheladas with odoules and V8. I’ll add olives and pickles and stuff so it’s boarderline Bloody Mary like. It gets me through my cravings.
Naan bread is life! Saw some at Costco and had to get some. Also, McDonald's is giving away free mc muffins tomorrow! I'm not a fast food gal, but I saw a picture on an add by a McDonald's and all of a sudden I wanted one. Then MH showed me the news about tomorrow! They are doing it because Wendy's is launching their breakfast menu tomorrow.
Homemade naan is so much better and it's actually not very hard to make
